@@emmy4691 ...Umm Ascians have been around since ARR, actually out of all expansions they were probably the least relevant in HW.
Paladin's pulling on their D&D roots as hybrid Figher-Clerics is very nice to see.
thank you, somebody else recognized that fact. D&D is the ancestor/progenitor to all fantasy role playing games even the new ones like souls games must pay homage to D&D
I think the reason it took so long may be because the class isn't a paladin in Japanese, it's just called "Knight" to them. It's great that it's started leaning into being a real Paladin lately, though

Believe it or not the basis for D&D came from a set of wargame rules called "Little Wars" written by H.G. Wells. The more you know.

If they ever gave Paladin a resurrection ability, it would be over. They'd be able to queue as the healer.
I imagine their gunna do something like this in the future, for 7.0 and beyond just giving jobs an extra roll and specs since they can't rly evolve jobs past 99 lvls as final fantasy courtesy.

I can barely freaking process the sheer amount of hype I feel right now. When you've been a PLD main since ARR and you had to go through the incredibly rough state of it in HW, and you've experienced it slowly but surely getting and better and better throughout each expansion since... Stronger, holier, shinier. You look at the state it's going to be in for Endwalker now and the absolute glow-up is damn near enough to bring me to tears. They really just gave me ALL the skills I could possibly want. It's crazy and I love it.
I feel you on this! Our class has come so far, and I am so proud to see we are finally the true Holy Knights I've always envisioned. It has been a long road...but PLD mains unite!

I've only been playing for a bit over a year... I started and finished MSQ as Paladin, so as hyped as I am for these changes, I can only imagine what day one mains are feeling. It's our time to shine, guys. We made it. \o/
Paladin was my first class when I started in 2014. It’s been dissed and mocked, but I persevered through the ridicule cause I knew we were still good tanks.
Flash forward, and now, we are godly Tanks!
Pally4Life!! We have always been the line in the sand, the ones who let none pass...we have stood by and let the others have their awe inspired radiant time in the sun, but when all is said and done,....TO ARMS MY BROTHERS, WITH SWORD, SHIELD AND HEARTS IN HAND!!!
This is exactly what a Paladin is supposed to be in my eyes. I'm levelling the job right now and I cannot WAIT for Endwalker. Dropping DRK for PLD, let's go!
I did the same thing, been Drk since you could and the changes are meh for it meanwhile Paladin says I'm the healer now lol and unlimited blade works

This sounds amazing, the one thing i've always wanted for paladin was some passive healing, and now we've got it.
I did notice that Clemency potency has gone down to 1000 from 1200, but hey, with all the extra healing tools we are getting (finally like the equivalent classes in other MMOs), I really can't complain.
Pretty happy with it, but now all I want is a pseudo-Esuna lol. Put it on a 30sec CD. IDC. Tired of Healers leaving me with Paralysis then getting angry I missed the mitigation on a tankbuster or a HG window, or leaving me with Heavy and then complaining I got stuck in an AoE lol.
@@KotCR what I did was buy a massive stack of anti-paralysis potions and keep those on a weird ass button on my hotbar on all jobs. Haven't had to stand griefing from healers not using esuna after ranged and tanks don't silence the ads in Puppets Bunker anymore lmfao.
@@KotCR I do hear in every video of the EW changes that we shouldn't pay attention to the Potency values we're seeing on all the Actions
@@KotCR Well Req also says it increases by 100% now and not 50% so it would be even stronger. But as literally everyone said don't take the potency values seriously.
Thats amazing with all the healing, but the most educational thing: The distance! A yalm being a Lala I can visualize that and actually work that stuff out now! :D

Once I finally hit the expansions I can see what the fuss is about.
@@zephyrias The PLD has been in a really good spot since Stormblood, it became even better in Shadowbringers, and it looks like it will go even further beyond in Endwalkers. So yeah, it will be a great tank.
It's only real problem before Endwalker (and a minor one, at that, to be honest) was self healing, as using Clemency meant you lost global cooldowns on healing yourself instead of attacking, while the other tanks didn't. Now the PLD self-heals while attacking too, so it can go even nutter on pulls.
So you're telling me that I can spam AoE spells to heal myself, and then call down AoE swords that give me MP back and deal AoE DoTs?
AND That I can apply a 30% Mitigation and Regen to one target while also giving a Shield for 10% of my Max HP AND Cure to everyone around me?
So just nobody takes damage anymore if there's a Paladin in the group is what I'm hearing? PLD is Blue Healer that makes all Healers turn into Green DPS?

Divine Veil you get now too. Read bottom part of new description. Now it says "Effect ends upon casting barrier on self and nearby party members".

Been a PLD Main since FFXI. Always rocked one variant of it in older FF titles, FFXIV I started as Glad in 1.0 and went PLD, and I still play and main it to this day. Nothin is gonna stop me!

I only really got into this game this year and I'm not in Shadowbringers yet. But this was the job I picked when I first tried it in 2018, and when I finally got into it with another attempt this year.
And man.
Seeing the Blade combo in the job actions trailer reminds me that, even with my tanxiety for trials and such, I picked the right job for me XD
That requiescat change is great for me!
already knew about unlimited bladeworks so what really got me here was the regen and extra mitigation on now holy sheltron.
Damn. Paladin finally maining heal abilities now. Honestly these are some nice mix ups to the classes. More support from everyone and a lot more lore friendly updates and changes to the classes too.
As a paladin this is so freaking awesome to see. Before I was worried about us losing some healing strength but it's entirely the opposite. I'm so happy that my job is getting all these upgrades.

So Paladin's finally became what the name entails, a tank that has some healing for the team.
Nice! It was the first job I ever leveled :D and it has become better and better and now its so freaking good its scary.
Also I hope these changes make players use some of the mitigation moves xD so much mitigation and I barely see people use them.

Did you happen to test whether the Holy Circle self-heal activates per enemy hit, or just once? If it's the former... Paladin's going to _go places_ with dungeon self-healing. If the latter... eh it's still nice passive healing on bosses.
...I just realized. No new buttons. I don't have to change my PLD hotbar at ALL in Endwalker. It's all just upgrades and replacements.

Just started my first tank class for the shadowbringers role quest. Tank is my last one and I went with paladin.
After seeing this, I might just Main paladin for endwalker.
Getting over the tank anxiety was my biggest hurdle, but now, at level 60, I'm having a blast!
Huh. With the req change clemency no longer seems to benefits from it. Not that it needed it in the first place. (Or was used often) Fun little hidden change.
Definitely looking forward to playing PLD for the next savage tier. Maybe our healers will panic less at the AoE damage and tank busters with all this extra random healing that we'll be tossing around.
