Similar to you, I bought a universal cage by Camvate, replaced the side rod with a 4 inch carbon one and got a 1/4 to coldshoe adapter to lock it all in, super sturdy, was only like $60 with the added benefit that it can go on other cameras if i decide to sell my bmmcc. I also have a NPF adapter on the back of the cage that will power my setup for hours with a single charge, these are great cameras when you know how to work around their problems. BMMCC4LIFE
I have the 8Sinn cage I bought 5yrs ago that I never used because I wasnt sure about getting the BMMCC but recently bought the camera and finally put the cage on. I realise most places has discontinued the cages for this camera.
Great job, but I check up the sizes of that cage.. it says interior 120mm, and the micro camera is shorter - How did you solve that gap? thanks in advance
Hi, the cage is composed by one cheese rod, two cheese plates and two rod rails where the cheese plates are attached to. I replaced the rails by a set of four smaller ones (second link in the description). This way I got rid of the huge gap on the sides. Hope it helps!
This is me right now! I’ve been searching for MONTHS. You saved my life!
Glad it helped!

Nice one! For my own, I found a cage on a second hand website. With my second parts, I had to have the smallrig one.
Lucky you! Cheers

Smart move! Now it’s paying off!
This helped me! Can you tell me what kind of remote you are using?
I’m glad it helped you! I’m using a controller from CGPro (www.cinegearpro.co.uk). It really makes the difference.
How many minutes are you getting with the canon lp-e6 battery?
I'm still looking for a cage solution for my bmmcc. This is great video! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks! I didn’t check on how exactly long it can last but I believe between 40 and 50 min.
