Big up to saving another X5. Especially a 4.6.
Great work as always! 4.6iS engines are becoming almost impossible to find.
Tip: my airflow sensor was not working properly so I took a bounty sheet and put it between the sensor and it ran fine for years
These cars like this are amazing and good, the problem is the high fuel consumition. Nice video bro.
The 4.6i M62 was nothing but trouble even when they were much newer - it was just one stretch too far and they ate head gaskets for dinner.
Almost no trouble nowadays cause they all dead
Another great video, was so cool to bump into you at Sommerfest 2022 and have a chat, keep up the good work!
Thanks 🙃
The X5 sounds amazing well done fella 👏👌🙏
would love a good theory on how the engine shit itself. Afaik other than timing guides, the m62 is a monster of an engine!,
you make it look so easy, awesome work
Great video. Glad it ran well in the end.👍
4.6is is an Alpina stroker motor, but the 4.8is is still the boss with the ZF 6 speed and valvetronic N62
In real Alpina is hand built, but x5 is mass produced
N62 got its own issues tho
@@The777Garage yup, I've had my N62 all in pieces to reseal it. Alpina came up with the formula for the 4.6is motor. When you scan one with an OBDII scanner, it even comes up as Alpina
Both are shit, the idea of a sporty x5 is just sad 🤣 2300+kg pig with 360hp just a waste of fuel and oil
@@hexagonosaurus5848 What's your recommended mode of transport?
@@hexagonosaurus5848 they are good cars if you look after them but yes not a sports car built for speed. I take mine fishing and out roof racks on one of them for work truck.
Lovely job Eddie
Unbelievable skill you have huge challenges 👍👍👍👍
Great video 💥
Nice BMW channel!
Great work, according to you then my 02 is about brand new from underneath 😁
Yep 🤪
Heavy that Ed, wonder if the rod was inherently weak from production and under load/time/fatique it just said I have had enough and went bye bye? 🤔 Good luck with the move 👌
tnx for the video
Ahhhhh NOW WHAT THE FCK HAVE YOU DONE HAAA HEY I WILL WATCH THIS WHEN I GET HOME.. ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR CONTENT BUDDY
Can you tell me how the color estoril blue is indicated on the nameplate inside the engine bay on the right fender?
Top video
Great job💪
Great vid as always. Are you moving to a new workshop?
Thanks
Yes end of august
would really like to see the 735 to 740 conversion. Any chanve you could do a quick overview of what to change etc?
Well is pretty easy..everything is straight swap..externally everything same just bigger maf and air box hole bigger
Rest same ..also swap ecu with ews
nothing but fun owning these........
I’ve got two… both currently on jackstands 🙄
@@donovanmonroe2080 yeah me too. One as a parts car to help maintain the other car thats really just another parts car...
should probably mount lower rated thermostat kit in the future :)
Told him to install 88 degree thermostat
@@The777Garage superb, cant believe what idiot at bmw thought running these at well above 100C in total temp was a good idea.. if i remeber right i belive the oil system is 106degrees celsius :(
Very nice car! man, whats the tyre size on those? Looks close to 305
Back 315 35 20
Front 275 40 20
20mm spacers
Spark plug tip broke and got chewed up inside cylinder and punched a hole on the wall... coolant flushed inside cylinder somehow. It’s the 4-pong type spark plug right?
Wouldn’t say so..it wouldn’t snap the rod like that
How goes the bmws theses day's
👍👍👍👍👍
Ah ha!!! Ill watch this see what happens hahaha
That's looks horrible 😕
Any news about the 5.7 Alpine?
Not yet ..good comes with patience
💪👍😎
🤗🤗👍
Import a 740d and fit that engine
Would be cool but not in this case
To be fair this would be bit epic on X5 :)
Maybe the injector got stuck open
Not in this case
I think he spun a rod bearing and bent the piston.
Surely it would knock…this all happened matter of seconds
@@The777Garage at 6000 rpm no time for knocking.
@@reflexgs6620 well its all in past now
@@The777Garage True. But we do need an update on your 746 built. Last it was down on power.
@@reflexgs6620 one day..I just got to much going on atm..haven’t really even driven this summer..main priority to move to new place and set it up
