DYNO!? 😉
Cost for build?
Should have replaced that radiator fan motor, they tend to go boom....
@@Truthseaaker пппшпшппшпшшпп
Crazy, wouldn't even attempt. Good job
You are the most rookie, professionals I have ever seen in my life. Not everyone dares to do this job in their own backyard, you guys with balls.
me and my dad rebuilt
alot of motors on our back porch bsck when i was in highschool, one thing we never do tho is resurface the block like this, too much work and time consuming just for the block to blow again after couple years.
@@yeeahyeah9246 This M3 will be sold as "Engine NEW"
@@GOLTURBO555 you betcha, i know sometimes honing works if they get real precise with the measurements, we still dont risk doing it, rather spend couple hundreds to a thousand get a precise bore and resurfacing on block and heads, reputation is better than couple hundreds extra, never seen someone sand paper the heads and block before 😅
@@yeeahyeah9246 it's do able with good results, just look up how to sand a block on this website you may be surprised
@@ratataran yeah i know it is, but i know you have to be real precise with it especially with the measurements, unless youre just sanding it just to clean it and not to resurface the block, i just dont trust myself getting the right measurements to resurface a block using sand paper, if im gonna put the time and money to rebuild a motor i might as well throw in couple of hundreds for resurfacing so i have a peace of mind that it wont blow in couple months, but if it works for you then props to you man. 👍
A rebuilt engine is a thing of beauty. Fantastic job guys
are you blind?
The amount of work that went into this and the video editing is just amazing. Thank you
He's a certified BMW mechanic,not a technician.He knows what he's doing.
@@realisrealite5554 Just because you own snap-on tools doesn't make you a mechanic. I guarantee this guy isn't certified in anything.
not even check rod clearances ,decking the block by hand, machine the cylinder walls without knowing how is the outcome.
also did you use the same crankshaft?
but they painted the block and head with silver! This alone added not less than 100hps!
@@aakolov at least 100 😀
Didn't measure rod bolt stretch either.
He use the same part or he change new parts for this engine and block ?
Also used pistons from one engine into a new block with only honing and no measuring
Just a huge and patient job for the mechanic. And he did it perfectly!!! BMW has a very capricious engine.
Intrigued from start to end. The amount of detail and skill to pull this off. Well done!
No measurements, no wear control, no precision machining and absolutely random block resurfacing. Engine is all about precision and tolerances of 1/100 of a mm.
I won't trust you even a tire repair, sorry.
Thank u finally someone with knowledge
lol i was surprised they even lapped the valves
Are you going to pay for them to get the equipment to do those measurements? Just some hobbiests rebuilding their own personal engines. You work with what you got.
@@devonsimpson8069 the equipment needed (aka micrometer, bore gauge and plastigauge) is not expensive. 200€ tops. getting the block honed and surfaced, crankshaft polished and trued will set you back another 250-400€. considering that in the worst case not taking care of any of this can result result in the engine being dead on start it's easy costs to justify. If I can do all this for a tiny m43 engine in my home shop, these guys can do it for a much more expensive and powerful block.
@@ElvianEmpire again, you going to pay for it? It's a "DIY" Rebuild. Backyard, anyone can do it rebuild.
I liked your video, no bullshit, no commentary, no ads just pure business.
Fantastic skills, you make it all look extremely easy. E46’s are great machines.
Hi ! First timer here. I am usually picky about videos of restauration and I judge them harshly let me tell you guys something , you guys are artists I looked every detail you guys went and Lord everything was just perfect I really am glad that I found people like you that know what they are doing. Greetings from Republic of Kosovo and keep up the good work.
I like videos about restaurants too 🤣 I think you mean restoration
Like using impact on knock sensors/block? Or reusing head bolts? 😳
Shqipe
Nice work. I wish there was hard dedicated guys like that in my town. Seems like im the only one here in my town that seems to put that kinda effort on rebuilds. Im rebuilding a 2003 Nissan Frontier 3.3L Engine right now and it would be fun to have dedicated guys around to have more fun doing the job. Keep making great videos and keep on bring cars back to life.
Hope you dont use a fkn electric zip gun to do it..ugh, the lazyness.
U
And and and, you can have fun, and then, and then, you can have fun again, yeah, and and, then your having fun, yeah, and and, then, and and then you can have fun hee hee, and and then you have fun again hee hee.
@Zippo People who strip and rebuild engines with any power tool are just fkn lazy, you cannot tell if something is undoing, or shearing, gash as fk, mechanic for 45 years here not just since you tube was invented, carry on LOL
@Zippo No shit Sherlock the fact you can "run stuff up with them" .... I note how you jump on the "dont use them to crack bolts"....bit....after I gave you the clue LOL
Fantastic!
Kudos to you gentlemen, from accident damage to blown engines, there's nothing on a car that you cannot fix!!
👌👌👌
Fire damage ☹️
@@rj6110 it actually can! Check out tavarish burned car rebuild
Thank you for not using old gaskets. I really appreciate it.
The engine definitely was worse for wear when it came in but you guys did an amazing job rebuilding this block absolutely killing it guys 🔥
Im confused - 12:08
Didn’t they replace that blown engine block with a brand new one?
Or did they re-use the one with the holes in it from what looks like a blown rod?…
@@mro4ts457 they definitely used the one with holes, they wanted to make sure all the oil came out before the first start, that's how you know you got a good BMW engine
@@1mawesomel1kethat
😂Tell me about it lol
My fuckin differential is making a whining noise now after I just fixed the brakes and vanos timing.
If it aint broke, it’s not a BMW🤣
should not use such a hard material on insertion of the pistons. even the slightest improperly vectored shock could permanently deform the piston or worse yet cause disassembly in the rotating assy below the piston or worse yet unseat one of the rings.
Otherwise decent DIY rebuild job. Would also recommend a machine shop handle honing / boring and maybe crank balancing.
Wow, when you say blown, you're really not kidding are you. That thing had big enough holes to sink the Titanic.
The beauty of having a shop. Try that on the side street and having to worry about something getting stolen by the next day or a neighbor ratting you out to the city. When your out there just minding your business. Sheesh!
ok so this was ASMR LOL..... i was like holy shit this is the most peaceful thing ive ever seen lol... watched every second of it.
We need more video like this .....no music no talking ......thanks guys
Watched the whole video it was truly something. Putting it all back together is my favorite part.
Pleasure to watch. The younger mechanic is a master 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I was gonna just have this video playing in the background while I worked, but it was only about 5 minutes before it had my undivided attention. A great rebuild of a thrashed engine, beautiful work!
Incredible effort guys. Good camerawork, editing and very detailed
just brilliant....love the tools, no chat, excellent work. big respect from Mauritius
🎵🎵There's a hole in my crankcase, dear Liza...
I can honestly say, out of all the things in life I wish I could do, it would be that right there! Great work!
man these guys know what they are doing! got it started back up on the first go! and it was a manual transmission! legit
The most brutal way of dismantling and reassembling any engine, specifically a german motor. Knocking on bolts, and other parts, no regards as if any clearance can get damaged.
You guys made it look simple.🙂 But this know it wasn't and to film it at the same time. Outstanding work👏🏾👏🏾
no music , perfect engine surgeons doing their stuff .
A rebuilt engine done right is a thing of beauty lads. Blessings from Shropshire.
That was a excellent rebuild loved it from start to finish keep up the good work 💯💯💯💪🏾
1yr, 1.5M views, and only 14K likes,,, wtf?
I was mesmerised until the end, then easily added my 👍🏼
Well done lads
Great work guys! How the hell do you remember where it all goes 🤯🤯🤯
Ikr
best car video on youtube
I love disassembly videos like this. I have learned how to do so much stuff with videos like this.
More ASMR rebuilds please! More more more!!
The e46 m3 is just a beautiful machine! It really is Art on 4 wheels!
amazing, detailed restoring bmw engine, impressive!!!!, congrats guys !!!
If there was a good thing of pandemic, it saved all used cars would have been junked in the past. The high used car price makes this kind of business profitable. This looks like a very high mileage car.
Puts my feeble car maintenance efforts to shame.
And I used to have an E46 M3 - fantastic car.
At first I thought, "well at least the block doesn't look beat." But then I saw the tool cart through the other side and said "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" LMAO!
One of the best engine rebuild videos I have ever seen on youtube. You sir are a master craftsman. Stumbled upon this video and am glad I did.
wow you did not see many videos huh?
im already preparing myself to have to do this one day and honestly this is making me look forward to it
from start to finish in one video. love it!
What a wonderful workmanship. Great work 👌🏾
Very professional, restore the car only by itself
That's a new use of a durablock I've not seen before!
I just love a straight six everything about it is just excellent
Right thing to do rebuild the engine. You guys will get massive returns
Well done... you worked hard... how professional... may you be healthy and happy❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Perfect way to fill time while doing online traffic school 😅
Incredible zee congratulations on building a engine which was completely knacker BMW will be getting in touch shortly offering you a job
Wow. I enjoyed ever single torque wrench click. 😊
This is just ART ...
Congratulations, excellent craftsmanship! I wish you continued success
Very good video an grate work , step by step , to understand all the beginers. Hello from Romania!
Excellent work on motor, love to watch it, i learning something new! BMW POWER!
How the heck some people can destroy an engine is beyond belief. Thanks for the video; a great job on one of the best engines BMW produced. 🙂
Not keeping up with oil maintenance
You dont know what you're talking about. If they were any good they wouldn't have a recall of all 2001 to 2003 for new rod bearings.2004 cars had the up dated bearings and mine spun a bearing and scratched the crank.Matter of fact the s65 in the e92m3 the s85 in the m5 and m6 are eating their rod bearing too. When rod bearings are wear items the engines are garbage.
After working with some guys from India I can tell you with enough patience and time almost ANYTHING can be rebuilt even using old used parts even if those parts are broken. Not sure if I would reuse S54 bearing shells but if they are not worn and have good clearance have at it! Just did a light rebuild on an s54 and used lots of used parts but new gaskets.
Pure dedication and talent
Awesome, enjoyed that a lot, many thanks.
This is a piece of art !! Thank you
They do tend to blow up more than most engines. With rod bearings that are designed to fail, subframes that are made of pasta ect.
行云流水,一气呵成。。。太棒了!很了不起膜拜大师。。视频剪辑的超棒,技术一流太羡慕了。。看您的视频简直是一种享受。。。Yes.加油
I never knew how much I liked the sound of a click til I watched this video
im confused ... did you mean 'new engine' ? otherwise you left out the part where you fixed those two holes in the block
so relaxing to watch when I'm supposed to be working at work lol
best video of how its done, very good we need more like this !
He could of super tuned it too and once that battery was charged… omg heart❤ that baby started right up
Iam from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳 hello
bravo, my man, you're good mechanics. your video is better, I watched it to the end without ever getting bored
FairPlay lads that was a fair bit of work
I was about to purchase a BMW but after watching this video I changed my mind
Smart man
so excited to watch tearing down the machine, but for sure knowing all part to assembling again not left anything is something...
Gotta say, this is really enjoying to watch...
Un super travail que dire de plus👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You don't have to go to this length in order to take the engine and gearbox out of the body. I was surprised when the dude the removed the wiper and ECU ...but awesome work guy. Great physical and mental therapy for all men out there.
This is art.
beautiful, i hope the owner will learn how to drive such a beast
Absolutely incredible superb job best regards to you guys and everyone out there Mark from billericay 😃👍🚗🇬🇧
That was amazing gentleman. Very well done.
My most favourite video on the internet now 👍🏽
How l wish you would be explaining step by step from the beginning to the end would really help some young autos 😊😂
12:06 😬😬😬 Dayyyuum
This is Awesome. Thank you
Great work performance Rebuild very toughest job it's simple for you guys really great
The work you do in house is amazing. All these USA videos shipping things here and there to get done, but you boys just get stuck in an get it done in house, and done really well. I'm a fully skilled engineer and that whole process looks very daunting to me. Hats off to you.
This young man is mustard at stripping down, would love to learn from him, good work mate 🤝👍👌
چه کار داری میکنی ، یعنی برای یه تعمیر موتور اینجوری همه ماشیینو خورد کردی !!!خدا رحم کنه😮😮
You guys are awesome, been watching from the start and you blow me away .zee amazing keep up the channel it’s my go to relaxation mode
Outstanding build guys 👌👌👌
Il gère le mécano ! 👍
Interesting to see that they re-use the connecting rods, these are break apart ones that have been matched against each individual rod. I just hope they took the time to match each lower to the rod it came of.
Why wouldn't they?
Con rods are not an item that wears and are only commonly replaced in big power builds.
@@matthewjenkins1161 conrods do wear the big end housing is often found to be out of round especially if an engine has knocked a big end out or a shell has spun in the housing also the small end bush can wear
The engine bore and valve head definatly needed lath work.
Engine builds are good when you replace all moving parts that worn out including engine block n cams crank 😂😂😂or slightly down engine with new cam n crank bearing ....adding new piston rings n sleeves .....new valve seats n valves if required.....overalling oil pump etc or buy new one
I loved every second of this video thanks for documenting !
This was dope, every second of it.
i got to say I enjoyed this so much!
