I never tire of her voice, so rich and powerful...a welcome addition to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame..I always try to stress to reactors who react to 80's and early 90's music how important it is to watch the video...this is the time at the height of MTV playing music videos, I mean an artist releasing a single was almost second to what their video looked like with the new release

So nice to watch the way you introduce your son to all the beautiful masterpieces of the 80s and 90s!

Ah so glad you're reacting to this fabulous band. Their back catalogue is superb. This is one of their best...a synth classic. Their image, especially Annie's is so unique and iconic.

It's always better if a song doesn't hit at first.. Little discomfort in music is much more powerful and in my case stays for lifetime..

Starting to become one of my favourite channels this one. Suggestions: Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now; anything by Talk Talk; early Springsteen?

I was like six years old when i heard this song for the first time and it just amazed me. i love post punk and new wave. Eurithmics is one of my favorite bands. I love your reaction and probably your son is into other musical genders because he looks not surprised at all. Its normal , most of the actual teenagers don't appreciate the real good music.

I'm really impressed that you didn't call them 'THE' Eurythmics.

I call them that from the 80s and nothing wrong with that.

Great choice Quint! This is one of the best songs of the 80s. It’s a painting in a song. There is an unmistakable dark mood conveyed through the lyrics and the icy synths juxtaposed with the strings which sail and soar along smoothly and melodically. The result is a pop song which successfully integrates the beauty of the instrumental arrangement with the somber mood the lyrical content conjures. It’s interesting that Ty seemed to have such a dismissive opinion and that seemed to be even before the song/video started. Maybe he just wasn’t in the mood for filming a reaction vid when you guys did this one. Maybe Ty would find a different Eurythmics song more interesting and I would suggest “Love Is A Stranger”. The video is a must see and is such a perfectly matched visual statement to match the song content. And of course there is “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)” which is pretty much one of the most iconic songs/video of the entire 80s

For Ty it's the long nights studying, Ha ..... For his practicum this semester he'll be at the "infamous" Parkland Hospital downtown (Labor & Delivery) 😎 should be interesting 🤩

Eurythmics are brilliant. Love Annie's voice. Though I like Ty's description of "everything was there screaming at me" that's poetic!

I'll be honest, not all songs hit at first listen, songs for me even to this day it won't hit until years later. I was NOT a huge fan of U2 when they initially hit in the US and a few years later I'm a huge fan. I grew up with some metalheads that loved Iron Maiden and heard "Hallowed be Thy Name" when I was a kid, but only within the last decade have I come to appreciate the musical feast it is! It's OK Ty if it doesn't hit...it might not ever...but then again...some music probably will hit because you're evolving and your tastes will evolve as you mature.

She's one of the best singers. Control no trills, distinct. Interesting interpretation of verse & chorus not vibing together. I don't see that myself but I've vibed with this from first listening. Hopefully next time it will dissolve as you say. Love this channel though. Just would prefer that the same artists would stay with the same child for completeness

How can the young ppl be so wrong. The music of the 80s so eclipses what passes today that I wouldn't even call the garbage young ppl listen to as music. They literally have no idea.

This song is one of the all time favourites for me, but I agree with Ty that mix is not on the level of today's top tier productions, even though it was pretty awesome at the time it got released. And I agree that lyrics and chorus may take a few listens to settle in the brain. Still, I'm never not happy to hear this song at random or on purpose.
