I have a lot of respect for people who can handle being a middle school teacher. I tend to do better with leading work shops with much younger kids or older teens and young adults. Also your story is great. You handled the politic topic very well. My middle school teacher had us write arguments against same sex marriage…. Edit. Also free lunch and breakfast! That is better than my public school. And i live in an extremely blue state.
If there was more time to prepare, I wonder how Liam would have reacted to 'real communism is when the workers get the final say.' Does Liam want to transfer that power from parents and retirees to teachers?
Omg that's such a good point! Of course, communism doesn't mean that workers get the final say over clients and customers--it's still a functional model in a market economy--so I do wonder about all the implications of implementing it in a school, but it would be so interesting to think through.
@@chloeeastwood6696 Just imagine what a dictatorship of the proletariat would mean ... no more teachers buying their own supplies, and no more PTA busybodies. Convince your fellow teachers, janators, cooks and support staff and you can do whatever you see fit. Ah!

Thanks! They're not so bad when you get to know them, but they're not for everyone.
