      It’s a really pretty and well-behaved ink.

Yayyy so excited to see this video!! The Kobe 64 is lovelllyy!! And the troublemaker one is stunning! I know exactly what you mean, watery but feels dry. I have had that experience too. I do recommend white lightening but you just use the tinnnniest bit! It does help dry inks a lot. I hope you find better pen matches for your drier inks! It’s always a learning curve with new inks but I have found combos that I love even if I hated the first pairing lol

Thank you Elyse! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the video. Yes the Kobe 64 might be my favorite out of this lot in terms of color. I’ve ordered the White Lightning and hope that’ll improve the writing experience 🤞

We have such similar taste in ink! I own three of these shades myself (Rokko Himalayan Blue, Sumiyoshi Uptown Jade, and Moon River) I would definitely recommend getting yourself some Vanness White Lightning. A little amount goes a long way! 😊

Oh neat! Yes, I’ve ordered the White Lightning and I am excited to give it a go. If a little amount goes a long way, would you recommend mixing it into the sample vial and then refilling the pens in a second step (rather than mixing it with the ink that’s in the converter)?

@@MaikeOatley I personally would do 1 drop per 5 ml, but Vanness suggests 1 drop for 10 to 12 ml. They state that the white lightning should be 1% of the ink volume. I've had instances when I've used too much (2 or 3 drops) and it changed the color of the ink.

Van Dieman’s Blue Jay Crown might be my favorite of your currently inked. Maybe because I’m currently using Sailor Ink Studio 123 and it looks pretty similar to your swatch. I’m sad to hear that Moon River is not working out for you so far. It looks like a gorgeous color and I just love the name.

Oh the Sailor Ink Studio 123 is also very gorgeous! And yes Moon River is a beautiful name - it always makes me think of Audrey Hepburn singing and playing the ukulele in Breakfast at Tiffany's :)

Troublemaker Inks are my favourite! I might be biased because they’re made in made in Cebu, Philippines, not far from my hometown. I love all of them and Moon River is one of my favourites, along with Petrichor and Milky Ocean. But yes, they’re shockingly dry. I wonder if there’s something in the water; the other Philippine brand I know, Vinta Inks, are pretty wet. White Lightning is legendary, but if you can’t get sample size I suggest a tiny, tiny drop of shower shine spray, it has a surfactant that makes any ink smoother and wetter. Beautiful video as always, I really enjoyed this testing format! ❤

That’s neat that the Troublemaker inks are local- I totally understand being biased by that 🙂 I ordered White Lightning and I’m excited to test it out. These inks are too beautiful not to be written with ☺️

Love this, and love your ink choices. I also struggle with blues as it reminds me of school. For MD paper, I’ve had the same experience and struggle to use fine nibs and drier inks. I’m really not sure why but maybe the coating. Xx

That's interesting that you had the same experience with MD paper. It's a bit of a bummer because overall I think I prefer the MD paper to Tomoe River.
