Yeah, sometimes I wish that companies were fine with short, yet sweet lines as well. I think longevity is at its worst in the video game industry, though, with some games like Final Fantasy XIII getting two sequels and Versus XIII (ah, the irony) cleared before the original even hit shelves. I'm just glad that Nintendo has started to give a spotlight to indie games and devs that aren't expected to make the same game year after year to hit a huge monetary requirement. What's that? I said nothing about Lego? Oh, sorry. Yeah, I had no idea that Lego Island 3 (or any theme around it, actually) was a thing until watching your old Lego games video. Thanks for the closer look! I've been really curious about it ever since.
The wish probably stems from just how popular these big lines get. Bionicle was huge when it hit and Star Wars is something that has always brought home the bacon. They really want that security for the future.
The thing is PS4 actually have more indie games then the Switch and Switch is expensive so as it's games and overall isn't popular in the whole world. Just in few parts of the west and some parts of Japan. In Europe you wont find it because people either have a PS4 or play old games which the later is more common.
The Lego Games review you did all the way back in 2014 was what ended up me getting to your videos. Yes the video is dated but I still rewatch it every now and then for fun if it. It really is an honorary Lego Rewind episode.
Yes. So much content. I've watched so many videos about lego island, and now I get THIS I can rewatch and I read all the comments about people's memories of IXS. Returning to that Island always makes me relaxed and I forget my problems for a while. So thank you!
Since the theme still isn't starting until August, it could still count as "one year" if they only do one wave next year, but personally I'd still consider it two.
Man, LEGO Island was my biggest childhood influence from the company right next to BIONICLE. I was always exploring the first game, delivering pizzas, helping people in need with Enter, and Return, building building a buggy, driving a big tow truck, painting a jetski yellow like a duck, all of that. Heck, despite him being the villain, I always loved the Brickster as a character. I remember wanting the second game so much only to never get it, which I'm honestly thankful for. I would have been so disappointed, and unhappy with it given EVERYTHING was changed due to LEGO's greedy, and idiotic decision to fire the team if the first one after it was done. I especially hate the voice, and design changes, the Brickster especially. I honestly hope we get some kind of anniversary series of sets, and even a another game with the old cast, if not similar ones. I think the Brickster's voice is still alive, but he's getting up there these days, so I'd love for him to be able to reprise his role one more time.
Man, I just re-watched most of the rewinds last night only to be treated with this! I have no history with these games or sets, I was too young at the time, but I do love the feel of the "Lego world" type deal, where many themes existing in one big world, even if it doesn't really make sense like having castle and space in the same universe, and Lego movie does that really well. And there's a DS RTS game I remember that had something similar going on, Lego battles, It had a pirate, castle, and Mars mission storyline, along with a few others and some cameos here and there. I really wanted to get it as a kid cause those were some of my favorite themes at the time. They also made a sequel for ninjago. And it's probably been pointed out, Pepper isn't skating with wildstyle in that picture, that's one of the CMFs.
8:17 I'm very excited for Res-Q, it's a hidden gem of a subtheme from City. Even though a modern equivalent would be Coast Guard... I feel like I'm writing the episode for you right now haha.
I'd really like to get my hands on some of those sets, along with a few town ones just for completion for the whole island. There's just something charming about them. The LEGO Brickster vs Lord Business Movie coming to theaters 2025. 4:24 'hol up, that isn't Sky Lane or Wyldstyle, that's the Skater Girl from CMF (series 6 I believe.) Was she supposed to be one of those characters? I always thought Wyldstyle and her were similar. Sky Lane also made it into LEGO Universe! She was either a racer or a pilot (maybe both?) Thanks to Collectible Minifigures we still have a *little bit* of that crossover style. Most CMF's make references to multiple past themes and each other in their bios, and you can web together quite a few different franchises with them. It still isn't like it was in it's hayday, but there are still a few little threads.
I would have liked it if Pepper Roni and The Brickster made a final appearance in Lego Dimensions: that included with the base story (which is all Licensed Products), that Lord Vortech is actually The Bricksters' Mythran Form (Connecting with _Lego Universe_ Lore, the Mythrans are the progenitors of Minifigures and were more like Demigods in some respects due to being created by a race of beings known as The First Builders: similar to how The Infomaniac had created The Brickster zillions of years ago), The Brickster wanting to reshape the worlds however he saw fit taking advantage of the chaos caused by Baron Typhonus and the Maelstrom. (We could even further connect to the lore from _The Lego Movie_ by saying that Virtuvius and the Master Builders were all students that had learnt their skills from a Mythran that arrived in their world and shared with the inhabitants the gifts of knowledge and imagination, with Wyldstyle seemingly being his last student before vanishing to parts unknown, likely to fight against the Maelstrom) Throughout the Lego Dimensions story we would receive hints at a greater scope threat with collectibles that would reveal a secret true ending to the game: that Wyldstyle/Lucy was actually a Mythran all along and that Lord Vortech/The Brickster knew she was a direct threat and sought to take out both her and Emmet (Who in the game is revealed to be the son of Bill Ding from Lego Island: who himself was another Mythran). We would get cutscenes and hidden logs and audio messages that tell a tragic story between the Mythran that taught the Master Builders and his falling out with his beloved who in the last log was revealed to be Sky Lane; who in-turn reveals that Sky gave the Mythran their child to watch over while she deals with the Maelstrom: that child being Lucy. In the final battle cutscene the game dynamic changes with the secret ending as we unlock "The Mythran" himself: PEPPER RONI, who is slightly older and sporting a ginger beard and outfit reminiscent of his original as he joins up to fight against Lord Vortech/The Brickster in one last battle. Be honest, it would have made _Lego Dimensions_ seem like less of a _Skylanders_ Clone in the long run and helped create a connected universe between the Movies, the Games, the Sets, etc. for us older fans that have been with this since the beginning.

The only thing I need from 2000s are the quality of video games and it's decent prices. I could buy a new complete game for 10$ or 20$ and be amused with it for day, months, years hell even today. While today the game is 60-80 euros, the "complete edition" is 100+ on top of that there are dlc and microtransactions. The games are dumbed down, most of them unfinished, download this download that... Fuck all that. I want to just buy the damn thing insert it into a console and play it like back in a day not be nickledimed to death and waste time downloading shit that should be already in the base game. What do they think that we all have money and time to burn on toxic garbage?! Then later they have the decency to cry how they didn't sell enough copies, well no shit Sherlock, I do wonder why...
Wait. What were those images of the smartphone theme? It looked really cool! The closest thing we will probably get to a non-doll version of friends sets. I love getting more pieces for contemporary settings. I mostly missed out on the old 90's sets, and playing games like Lego Racers (the original) really made me appreciate the charming world they existed in where knights and space explorers could come together because why not?! It is cool that LEGO themes now follow a rigid storyline, but I wish we got more standalone themes with minor stories that allowed more room for interpretation. Of course, nothing is stopping a kid from doing that now, it's just not as supported by LEGO I guess.
I agree that LEGO should make shorter themes, not every theme is going to be a hit like Ninjago. I also agree that Hidden Side is probably a good start for this. I think that this climate could warrant a LEGO Throwback series, maybe one to two years long, that would bring in old characters on a sort of last adventure. They did this with the LEGO Movie a bit, but I think it could be its own theme. Just my opinion though.
I hope I don't sound demanding. But do you think you could do a one of episode on Lego City Undercover please? Since it kind of disappeared of the face of the Earth. 4:19 #RestoretheWBLegoVerse.

_WHOOPS,_ you have to put the _CD_ in your _computer._
Fun fact: I just borrowed my lego island xtreme stunts disk to a friend a week ago so that he can see where lego games come from.
"Hidden Side."
@@NickonPlanetRipple Thanks!
Not much to say about this line. Excited to hear your take on Res-Q (And maybe the other Coast Guard-based sets?), though.
7:35 isn't that a cover of the Polish Lego booklet?
Awesome!! 0:06
That damn Brickster!
5:38 where is that animated pepper Roni from?
It's just from the ending cinematic of Island Xtreme Stunts
Clicked on it as fast as possible !
4:22 Hey, that’s not Wyldstyle!
Oops.
Ahhh memories ❤️
Heads up for those who played the Island games; some fans are making an unofficial new entry in the series: projectisland.org
Don't worry all kids say "big ups"
Wait is the deconstructor just a metal file
Getting rid of the force that bonds bricks together just means filing of the off the studs
I think it would be a cool Twist if peppers dad was actually Johnny Thunder
We need more original Lego themes. I have ideas for some. A new castle, pirates, vikings and western. And a space theme called intergalactic.
Lol I'd forgotten about the infomaniac.
That name seems like a... strange... decision, looking back on it XD
oh hell yeah pepper roni time
I agree that LEGO should make shorter themes, not every theme is going to be a hit like Ninjago.
4:20 ...That's not Wyldstyle, my dude
I remember this one
I hope proper-roni is A main/side character in A future Lego movie
I hope I don't sound demanding. But do you think you could do a one of episode on Lego City Undercover please? Since it kind of disappeared of the face of the Earth. 4:19 #RestoretheWBLegoVerse.
Probably not unless it was a patron funded episode. I don’t even have the game.
@@NickonPlanetRipple Ok Well that's fine!
Someone needs to make an ideas sets about old lego themes crossing together!
5:43 wight what i just bought that set where he is in
And he stuck the (is)landing!!
I'm not gonna lie, I wished I was like Pepper growing up
