Thanks Brett. Your set up has come along way from your DOT and Oz tents. Love seeing any video on the ulitmate, hopefully we are getting one next year. Great video.
Great vid thanks Brett. Curious on your camper trailer journey and if the TVan came into the thought process ? I am considering the Nexus and Tvan. Love the Nexus for space, kitchen and storage. Slight compromise of dealing with canvas. Tvan can do a quick set up and no canvas. But in my understanding Tvan bed area not great for tall people like me. Hence I am leaning to the Nexus
Yes we look at the TVAN, but didn't go that way due to the small cabin space around the bed, and the lack of a water-tight cooking area. For us, getting in out of the insects and rain when we want to was a critical buying decision. We traded off the setup time to get that.
Ours were an option when the Ulti was built. I need to do a close up video of them so others can get them made. They are super helpful, and we would absolutely get them again!
@@Camh1968 Absolutely! The Patriot was EXCELLENT, and I am still happy with that purchase. We switched over to the Ulti as we wanted more "internal" living space away from rain and bugs as we found our travels were taking us into more remote locations and we were experiencing a lot more rain. The Ulti gives us a great balance of outdoor living and indoor living in ultra remote locations.
Starting with the actuator; it uses negligible power. Overall though, we have 240ah of 12v lithium batteries on board. We find that overnight we can get it down to 75%; using laptops, lights, fridge etc - we don’t skimp. If the weather is fine, a single 250 watt panel can resupply the battery in four or five hours. When it gets cloudy or I just want to fill the batteries faster, I put out a second solar blanket and get the input rate up to the 20-25 amps per hour rate; or with clouds, just charge longer into the afternoon. All seems to work okay for us. On the occasions where it just rains all day, we can last a full three days before I need to use the Landcruiser to top up the Camper; that is my backup plan.
Heaps of space in that one Brett, great clip mate. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Jack!
Great video Brett - Very good production with the multiple camera angles!
Thanks Chris - was good fun doing the edit. Lots to learn, which I love...

Hi Brett. A quick question, How does the 360 awning act in stronger winds? TIA,
It’s held up really well. Must use the tie down ropes. Storms have been fine.
Brett, where did you get the helper bars from? They would be useful, as I also don’t have the reach!

Hi Brett I thought you had a Patriot camper.
I did have a Patriot x1h - the hardtop. It was a great camper as well, but we switched that one over to the Ultimate Nexus 360.
@@iLuvDirthi. May I ask reasons for switching over from the Patriot camper to the Ultimate? Thank you

great video, how much solar do you use and how has this held up with the power usage?
