When I was 4 I got my first console with was the 3ds and I had the console for a few months then the cartridge slot would not keep the game in the cartridge slot so I had to wait later that day to get a new one and that 3ds lasted over 8 years I am now 12 Ps the 3ds surprisingly still works
"Look after our planet." Man, they were wild with Kid Icarus Uprising. I wonder if they'll do something similar in terms of scale with a possible future installment
Good thing I didn't know what Streetpass was until hearing chuggaaconroy praising it. I didn't use Streetpass as a kid, but now I used it at my mall and highschool, that was a fun experience. So I was scared of the dragon in the water. Like it just comes out of nowhere.
Oh, yeah, Project Mirai DX also have an AR function with custom cards coming with it. All 19 cards are double faced and enables you to either summon one of the 6 Vocaloïds or make them dance onto on the 32 songs of the game. So a sort of mini concert at home. This game came with all 19 cards by the way.
I remember putting sooooo much time into AR Games, and I was always super pissed that no one else ever talked about it. So I'm quite grateful this video finally exists.
In photos with Mario, you can actually put the question mark block card vertically, and it will shoot bullet bills... yeah i never got any of the other cards. I might print them soon.

I remember Official Nintendo Magazine came with a 3DS AR Card poster that doubles up as an actual AR Card which can be used with the 3DS giving you a giant Mr. AR. On the reverse side, it's a Pokemon Black and White card for Oshawott
The PSP has a fully AR-based game two years before the 3DS: Invizimals. It was basically pokémon with a small cast, unique minigames for each creature and real time combat. I can't say it was really good, but I remember sitting down next to the AR card for hours as a kid, so...

This is my first time seeing your videos, and I LOOOOVE THEM! they take me back to the early 2010s and give me so much nostalgia; I only had a 3DS for a while, and seeing this video brings me back when my whole life was Nintendo
I remember having a lot of fun playing AR Shot and Fishing. Also, even though Kid Icarus Uprising is one of my favorite 3DS games. I don't think I knew that you could make the AR cards battle or maybe I just forgot.

I got my 3ds in February 2019 when I was 10 and a year later it was discontinued? Well I should've known because randomly for some reason, it stopped supporting UA-cam, also in 2019. I will miss the 3ds, barely anyone using it nowadays. A game I revisited was the AR Games one. I never got any cards, so I just printed out the cards on a paper, so I basically played for free. This was a very fun game and I still really love it. Back then, I also wanted play coins, so when my mom was driving me to school, I would put my 3ds in sleep mode and wait for the play coins. I never got any, though.. so I just shook it. Also I remember 10:03 scaring the crap outta me.
I remember lots of good memories toying around with these functionalities, and actually I didn't even know about some of these. The 3DS had lots of great things, but maybe it focused on too much stuff without really fleshing them out in a proper gaming way, resulting in gimmicks.
The only game I remember that integrated these AR cards was Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. I think it came with cards that gave you special monster characters you use to fight for you in that one.
Man, this is such a great video to see on the day of the 3DS' end of production. The AR tech I remember being amazing when I first played my 3DS nearly a decade ago. It's such a good tech and I hope Nintendo is able to do more with it in the future. I'm not big on VR and rather we go for this or more interactive methods of play (Ring Fit) to really do cool stuff. Thanks for the amazing video. Please keep up the great work!
AR Cards’ globe and Portal’s companion cube give me similar vibes and I love it Edit: one day later I’m really not sure where I got those vibes from Just had portal on the mind I guess
The only game I have that uses AR cards is Project Mirai DX, the Hatsune Miku game. The launch/preorder edition came with a wallet chain and cards although they can be printed. There's one cart for each song, and it lets the characters dance around wherever you put the card. There was an iPhone app for AR Miku that used different cards, but was supposed to be similar. Something really cool was an AR Asteroids game I played. It was neat to see how the tech changed. Basically what they did was have a series of projectors and sensors, then you'd wear a helmet and sit on an exercise ball. You'd turn to aim using an arrow on the helmet, and then bounce to shoot. It was neat to see something similar to the 3DS games, but with using your body to interact with the game. It was a lot of fun, I played it at an arts festival, and it makes me wonder if AR arcades could be the next thing, as VR arcades have had mixed reception. Personally, I find AR to be easier on the eyes than VR, but that might just be because most headsets don't work with glasses very well, and my contacts aren't as precise of a prescription.
