Michael Bumpus and Stacy Rost discussed that and what it means for this franchise under first year head coach Mike Macdonald. Has this team set themselves up for success for years to come with the way they approached this off-season or have they left something to be desired? Don't sleep on Mike Morris. Lots of young potential. Let's hope they capture it

      Yeah, and Morris is also a Michigan guy. He knows MacDonald, probably more so than other guys…I think Morris might be a breakout player….he didn’t play much his rookie year but I can see this coaching staff turning Morris into a big contributor! Let’s gooooo!!!!!

    I’m excited for the Magic Mike era. He means business. Less goofing around, more discipline but can still have fun. You know what’s fun?? Winning a goddamn Super Bowl. 😂 💙💚😜

    100% agree with these takes. The only ppl who should feel safe are the qb, rbs, and receivers (along with a few specific defenders) as they were the only thing working last year.

      Riq is safe only if he is healthy enough to tackle like we know he tackles.

      I agree with them 100% they went and got two man corners in the draft that are also fast. Riq will for sure have to show the new coaching staff something in camp. He was bad in coverage and bad at tackling. He was visibly taking plays off. There’s fresh blood in the locker room and those boys are hungry.

    I am perplexed by they Riq digs... His stats compared to Sherman are comparable. His tackles in year 2 would have been top 6 in all of Shermans career had he not gotten hurt he probably would have had another 60 tackle season he had 2 INTs equal to what Sherm's mid level .... so to say he struggled I think is not fair.

    Dre’mont needs to be moved to the edge. He only weighs 280, he doesn’t have the mass to play interior and is by far more productive on the edge, he always has been. Jarren Reed outperformed Dre’mont in every aspect, run and pass defense. It makes more sense anyways. Leo, Byron and Jarren in the interior, then Boye, uchenna and Dre’mont on the edge. Recipe to have one of the most dominant Dlines in the league.

      Dre Mont Jones is not an edge rusher lol stop

    • @rig2037
      @rig2037 2 місяці тому

      Dremont Jones is a ROTATIONAL INTERIOR PASS RUSHER when he is at his best. The reason they put him interior is yes, he isnt the biggest or the heaviest. But neither are Guards and Centers. He has the strength and great leverage because he is only 6’3 280 which is a better matchup going against smaller Guards and centers instead of 6’6+ 305+ Tackles. He can play the edge ROTATIONALLY but not an every down DLine player, at least not for the Seahawks. We have too much talent on our DLine which is a good thing, you always want to have depth and value. Also he has to keep his weight where it is because thats how his body functions best, gaining weight could prevent him from healing properly or being able to achieve his top speed and physical form, Gotta feel good to play good and on the interior is where he belongs. He has a quick get off and is good at pushing the pocket on the inside, making it harder for the QB to keep his feet in the pocket and helping our ELITE talented edges like Mafe and Nwosu to clean up the play quicker. Def want Dremont Jones on the interior line so the QB has less time to throw, at least rotationally, NOT every down. He isnt built to last EVERY down for 4 quarters, 17 games a year.

    • @rig2037
      @rig2037 2 місяці тому +2

      DreMont Jones makes his best plays on 2nd and long and third yard short downs, coming in rotationally AFTER someone like a Leonard Williams or Jarran Reed has been tiring out the guards and centers with their power and strength. Dremont comes in with his speed AND strength and takes advantage of sloppy and tired interior OLine players. Great clean up crew player to have.

      @@rig2037 why do you think edge rushers are always smaller and faster? Do you hear yourself? Playing DT you’re getting double or triple teamed every play. Watch film dog, he’s always been a way better edge rusher and DT

      @@rig2037 him being a rotational piece is completely fine. But not as a DT. Also that’s the issue as well. We pay him a ton of money just to be a rotational piece and come in on 3rd down plays

    Left OG is open, Haynes is right guard ...IMHO.
    I can't see why Oluwatimi didn't get more snaps last year, maybe he sucks and Evan had skillz and I'm blind.

    • @davidm9505
      @davidm9505 2 місяці тому

      Yes I do. A lot of people either don't want to admit it or weren't paying attention to how poor he was at shedding blocks in 2022. Sometimes he'd even run to the blocker because he'd rather do that than make the tackle. All I'm hearing now is how the shoulder hampered him all last season and that's the excuse for why he was so bad at tackling in 2023. Not true. His refusal to tackle has been a problem for two years.

      because hes a former WR turned DB, and unlike Sherman he never spent time on defense in HS. so he never learned how to hit.
      hes legit one of the worst tackling DB's in the league.

    rushing yards given up before the Willams trade: 92, 102, 44, 112, 46, 122, 155, 298
    rushing yards given up after the Williams trade: 68, 82, 169, 136, 173, 178, 162, 202, 206
    rushing TD's given up before the Williams trade: 10 (6 came in 2 games... 3 each in the LA and Baltimore games)
    rushing TD's given up after the Williams trade: 14
    im sorry but WHERE did Williams make the defense better? outside of the Baltimore game on average the defense had faired just as well if not better against the run before Williams.
    and in fact they closed out the season playing like absolute turnstiles, not allowing less than 125 rushing yards in the final 7 weeks!
    he was supposed to help plug the middle, generate interior pass rush, and help solidify a playoff slot.
    he failed on 2 of 3 accounts.
    Real reason Leonard is there is because the team would look like fools for making that trade last year, giving up a 2nd, just to watch him walk in FA.

      Just replace Williams with Nowosu. So basically yards and TDs before Nowosu injury and after injury. The Nowosu injury was the major factor. It forced the Hawks to play Taylor and he is terrible against the run.

      Nwosu also was hurt during Williams time. Dude was out beat defensive player and our team tanked after he got hurt.
      Also you act like every play is Williams fault. There are a lot more ways to run a ball then directly towards Williams.

      @almaq2078 There are a number of variables and impact points. While one single player can't be blamed for the lack of productivity, one also has to appreciate the time that person took the time to put up some statistics💙💚
