Funny.. I was a strip club DJ for 20 yrs and I use to made these same type of nickname and vibe lists. I did that with books, back in the day. Man, I like to think that I'm the apex predator of the "pressure and dealing with unruly drunken (crying, sad, happy, angry) women and customers" DJ world. Last minute off the hip every night, while talking over every break and over a lot of the songs, often as trashed as I could be, people in the booth, managers, girls, bartenders, security. .. I think it was great training for this sober, chill, laidback time in my life. Thanks for the videos.
"please welcome Shampain to the main stage, I need all available girls to the dressing room " Meanwhile old girls dancing to Drake Knife Talk Ahh good times.
I used to dj by improvising on the spot, I figured it kept my sets fresh and different every time, but now I started organizing crates and realize that those good sets coupd have been fantastic sets, because yes there is no way one can remember every banger in every genre or every bpm. Great tips, I use a similar structure for my weddings. I also color code certain tracks.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and wisdom. As a novice and someone aspiring to become a professional DJ like you someday, I find your content both entertaining and informative. You’re definitely one of my favorites.
Hey.... I have been watching your stuff since you popped up during this pandemic and you have been amazing and so helpful to my dj-ing Thanks keep it coming!!!
Great crates bro. My dinner game is always a little bit more chaotic because I am an MC entertainer magician DJ so I got a lot going on and youre right ...organizing some crates will be so helpful
Hello Nick your videos are awesome you’re an inspiration to beginners like myself I purchased your complete crate collection and I just want to say thank you
Great, vlog Nick! Work smarter not harder, I’m definitely a fan of detailed crate structure. Organizing by stages of the night or genre sets works well
Everything you said is 100% #TheTruth Djing off the top of the head is great and very skillful but like you said you can easily forget "gems" or play the same songs over and over. Having an organized crate system for Wedding Dinners, etc helps for those moments when you are in a rut or too busy posting on IG and forget to load up the next song Lol, you can go to that "Crate" and bam!
dude - much respect for sharing in that much detail... here are a couple of "secret" tracks that I have in my crates for dinner. also, dinner is a missed opportunity for most djs - i started focusing on dinner a few years back and now i'm doing playlists for some of the best restaurants in my area. anyways, great post!
Hope to hear on the 20 podcast with Dj Spider one day! Music and crate Organization is a common topic of discussion. I appreciate your insight and work into this!
Hey Nick...pity these lists don't work anymore.... your crates appear to be blank.... but thanks for all the tips and info....really enjoy your videos 😃
$4.20 for the reggae 🤣🥦🤪 I think I will invest in these lists. Especially now that my March cleared up I’m gonna have a lot of time. Kinda worried about my April gigs. You going dry with this bs apocalypse isht?
With as many crates as you have... how many duplicates of songs do you have between crates throughout your entire library? I like to keep as few as possible.. makes everything easier.
Nick, another great video! You planning on sharing your prom crate idea with is? I have a prom in May (Cornavirus Pending *facepalm*) but haven't rocked a prom in a few years...while I can make a wedding dance floor fire, and probably able to put a pretty good who on for these kids...I will admit I am only so in touch with today's music. So any advantage I can find (Spotify does have a pretty good 2020 prom list I suppose) and since I'm a big fan of your vlogs, I figured I'd hit up the master first and pick his brain!

Thanks bro! Totally agree
My biggest take away is not the crates themselves but the mentality of not letting your sets get stale. Keep up the fun videos, Nick!
That's awesome thanks Joey!

Yeah I'll make a video on it!
Is it possible to record a song from vinyl 12" as a flie to Serato DJ pro software?
Do you use originals with intros or redrums you find on record pools
NESTOR RIVERA mostly originals, a couple intros, not a fan of redrums unless they’re true to the original.
I use some re drums also but a lot of them are too drastically different. I find them on just4 djs.net
Do you have crates for quinceañeras?
Do you have like a master list option with all the crates ? Say for one price you can get the entire list ?
Not right now I'm sorry Reece.
