Who is Breitling trying to fool, they have reconfigured a watch of old, slapped a ridiculous price on it and wait for unwitting fool to buy it. On a positive note if it were priced at $500 it may have a chance to compete with high end G-Shocks. Marc Andre your videos are always informative. Thank You and Hello from Calgary
yeah, good for you, Breitling, I was expecting your own in house movement to replace all ETA crap in your product line, but you came up with a lovechild of g shock and Luminox.
@@heminder universally serviceable? yes for a Seiko 5 or a Tissot. But If I spent $5K+ for a luxury watch, I would only do the service with the boutique or AD. No surprise why people keep buying Breitling's fairy tale " we are using highly modified ETAs". ETA is only fit for the entry-level brand. No matter how you modify it. Abandon ETA is the only way forward for the upper-level brand, like OMEGA did or what IWC is doing now.
Love to see The Watches TV , covering this new path for Breitling, there's nothing wrong with Quartz, like the Elegate from FP Journe or the X 33 from Omega, horology is much more than mechanical pieces, Great video, love to se Marc doing a coverage for Casio (Mudmaster perhaps:) cheers
A plastic ETA quartz chronograph watch that is casual, accessible and inclusive is a Swatch. Not a $3,000 Breitling. What triathlete would use this watch? A 30 minute totalizer would be useless in that context. Nonsensical marketing speak and a naked profit grab. That said, I love this channel and appreciate your work Marc-André.
I like Breitling, own 2 of them but this watches look like something you get in a gum ball machine. And that mechanical interlude was like waking up from a coma to realize you are still alive. Great video, as always.
Oh im so glad you really enjoy the design of the Breitling ...........Box, or did i invent that ? congrats on this report of these adventure watches always nice to witness serenity in the face of madness.
Breitling’s take on capitalizing on existing products. The aerospace (super quartz sports watch) was there since the 90’s. And I even had it on a rubber Breitling strap for a while, though the titanium bracelet was much better!
Very colorful choices, in the range price of Grand Seiko 9F but the dial has so much information that make me heavy to read. Same case/mouvement with dial like a field watch (no chronograph) or Explorer, between 2000-2500 CHF and 38-40 diameter,it will be my second high end quartz watch after my GS day-date 9F.
I tried one on today and I really wanted to like it. It would have been my grab and go quartz sports watch if I bought one. Unfortunately it really lacks the quality that the price tag suggests. The bezel is a cheap feeling friction affair and the case material has some stupid name that sounds like the name of a window company. It’s basically a sort of carbon resin compound like G-Shock use in their carbon core watches. Ironically for £700 you can get a Carbon core G-Shock Frogman with solar charging Bluetooth and atomic connectivity amongst other features. Apparently these Breitling’s are selling well and I still like them. At least it’s something different and quartz done well still has it’s place and this thing is mega comfortable but theirs a real problem. It’s aimed at sporty people and they all wear Garmin’s or Apple watches etc to track their workouts.
I held one of these light weight chronos at an AD and it felt like a cheap toy. I would rather buy a proper Tudor or Omega mechanical sports watch. If I ever get a quartz watch it would be from Grand Seiko.
I actually ordered one, and then returned it. I couldn’t get past the case material. For 3k, it’s already a hit that it’s a quartz, but I just get past the feel of the watch. The Breitlite material feels like very cheap (I know it’s not) lightweight (I know that’s supposed to be a positive) material. I just couldn’t stop the feeling that it was a 100$ watch
Still halve pictured Watchface (12h only) would be nice with 24h Watchface (with 12h top position standarded face), no Radiocontrolled / Quarts movement? pitty !!
Nice, Marc Andre, but the pricing 🤷♂️. Accounts and Marketing departments gone mad. Even with “high accuracy quartz” it’s not worth it . As indeed others have commented 👍.
I think Breitling lost their mind. Superquartz watches? The sprint looks exactly like a Doxa and those sport watches look like swatches. Wth were they thinking? Just my opinion. This guy has clearly no clue. This will be a marketing and sales disaster. That interlude of mechanical watches was priceless and on spot.
I saw these the other day and thought, Wow - Breitling made something cool and new - and then I watch this video and they are trying to make out its inspired by the Sprint from the 1970s. Why? Why does EVERYTHING have to be inspired by something that you made before. I would have so much respect for a brand that said, look we made something new we've never done before, that's it, no history, no bullshit, here it is. If you don't like it fine, but no... everything has to be presented in this way because, I have no idea. No one who likes this watch cares about the 70s.
A lot of negative comments on The product and this is a true mistake Breitling is Breitling this is Never a Luminox or a G-Shock, put a Breitling on a wrist go outside on a coffee After put a Luminox and go to another coffee and you realize what you pay - a Breitling. And After all if I Said that crown is like RM and just The crown is 3.000 euro what Did you think ?? 🤣🤣🤣
While G-Shocks now start charging $1,700 for titanium versions of their square Origins series, Breitling goes the other way and offers a $3k plastic version. Take that Casio, with your similar material $200 carbon core watches. 😂 again, like the design and lightness of these watches, very cool, but the price.....

Plastic case... quartz movement... 3,000 $... Gasp ! We need a longer mechanical interlude...
A sporty coloured watch! With super quartz for 3.000 euros 🤔! Probably with an automatic version they have an internal rivalry with the superocean line. The autavia homage chronograph looks amazing and more sporty 😉.
I love Breitling, That watch looks good, but are you kidding me, Quartz? Really For me Horology is a movement, either automatic or hand winder but a battery watch is garbage for me, sorry guys, I can pay $300 dollars but not $3k
3:17 The seconds hand does not line up with the minute marker. This is ridiculous for the price they are asking. I also find the imitation carbon fiber case material very tacky. Very disappointed by this watch, and it seems to me that the brand cannot find an identity. The marketing officer could not define it - according to him they are going from aviation to Breitling's true playing field, "more than aviation"...
floflorian that’s the angle the watch was held. Depending on how much distance between the hand and the dial, it’s very easy to appear misaligned when seen at a slight angle.
Well that was utter rubbish! For 3k USD you can either get a plastic Quartz Breitling or a mechanical Omega Speedmaster Professional ... let me think ;-)
Thank you for the mechanical interlude. It was indeed very calming 😌
Definitely needed that
Love the mechanical interlude 😁
Happy you did ;)
They look like a less functional g shocks

Thank You and Hello from Calgary
Thanks so much and the very best to you!
I would (and have) take a Master Of G series over this even if this Breitling was cheaper. G-Shocks are functional, proven, and time-tested.
I agree, $4000 is not a Entry Level Sports Watch. Go Seiko!!
Genius mechanical pause!! One of the funniest moments of your channel!
yeah, good for you, Breitling, I was expecting your own in house movement to replace all ETA crap in your product line, but you came up with a lovechild of g shock and Luminox.
I actually think off-patent and universally serviceable movements are a better idea than proprietary in-house nonsense.

Yes....Luminox could not think of what this reminds me of!!
Thank you for the interlude. I put away my torch and pitch fork. You have redeemed yourself.
;)
Marc Andre is having a pandemic "Quartz Crisis", but dealing with it with aplomb! =)
Hahaha ;)
Yes Marc...
The mechanical interlude was a requisite.
Cheers!!
😉
Marc, you’re so funny. The interlude was most needed to calm ourselves before the price tag 🏷 of €3k was announced
Happy you appreciated ;)
Awesome interlude 😀😀
I like these, the red is my favorite one and cool value for the price from Breitling.
The interlude was refreshing 😂
Picking up my new $4500 “AU” endurance today.
To all the hatters don’t be jealous 😂
For real? Did you get it? Im really liking this model
Are you happy with it???
Love your sense of humor. 😄
😉😉 happy you do

And that makes us very happy, thanks a lot!
Great vid thanks ..needed that break in the middle lol
A $3,000 Luminox, that's what it is. What on earth were they thinking?!
What happened to Breitling ?
That interlude was very much appreciated for me.
I like Breitling, own 2 of them but this watches look like something you get in a gum ball machine. And that mechanical interlude was like waking up from a coma to realize you are still alive. Great video, as always.
Bought the navitimer 8 b01 special edition and the endurance pro. Love the endurance pro.
You read my mind with the mechanical interlude! XD
Oh im so glad you really enjoy the design of the Breitling ...........Box, or did i invent that ? congrats on this report of these adventure watches always nice to witness serenity in the face of madness.
Nice styling and colour options but I think the price point for a quartz will put a lot of people off🤷🏻♂️
LOL @ ‘mechanical interlude’ it did feel good.
Happy you liked this moment ;)

just get a gshock, better made, better tech, and will last way longer

Compass bezel?

I love my Breitlings, but “breaking down barriers” with $8.000 in steel?!
Looks like garbage luminox on a breitling rubber strap
I think Breitling lost their mind. Superquartz watches? The sprint looks exactly like a Doxa and those sport watches look like swatches. Wth were they thinking? Just my opinion. This guy has clearly no clue. This will be a marketing and sales disaster. That interlude of mechanical watches was priceless and on spot.
Lol you'd be surprised. I work in an AD for breitling and we are selling out of these in all colors
I saw these the other day and thought, Wow - Breitling made something cool and new - and then I watch this video and they are trying to make out its inspired by the Sprint from the 1970s. Why? Erm... what's your point? That you just pay for an inflated brand name?
Norseman No, for Breitling know-how and feeling
@@popalaurian That is literally what I just said.
Tbh I love it, I’d take the yellow one.
viva watchmaking!!!!!!!..
Super Quartz ? Yeah, that is how to make money.
With so many great mechanicals available for $3000, there’s just one word for this: ?!?!?!?!
How many times did this guy mention strategy? Please dont make the marketing guy introduce the watches
While G-Shocks now start charging $1,700 for titanium versions of their square Origins series, Breitling goes the other way and offers a $3k plastic version. Plastic case... quartz movement... 3,000 $... Gasp ! We need a longer mechanical interlude...
A plastic quartz watch, they’re playing in Swatch’s area, they are too high to be in that space.
A sporty coloured watch! With super quartz for 3.000 euros 🤔! Probably with an automatic version they have an internal rivalry with the superocean line. The autavia homage chronograph looks amazing and more sporty 😉.
I agree about the Autavia, but then the Top Time is more in line with this.
Just by yourself a Luminox, dont waste your money for this.
I love Breitling, That watch looks good, but are you kidding me, Quartz? Really
For me Horology is a movement, either automatic or hand winder but a battery watch is garbage for me, sorry guys, I can pay $300 dollars but not $3k
Air, sea , land, and quartz....hmmm G-shock?

floflorian also agree. More than....something lines are always crap.
Thousands of dollars for a quartz watch . . . . . I think I will go and open a vein!
Watch made for MAMILs
Well that was utter rubbish! For 3k USD you can either get a plastic Quartz Breitling or a mechanical Omega Speedmaster Professional ... let me think ;-)
Better off with a gshock anytime.!
Surprisingly in my country this is quite a hot seller. I'm baffled.
who design this crap !? I know they want to sell it to the kids ... LOL not sure if this strategy is really good for B.
3000$ ? Haha ok, im going to wear my gshock thanks.
Pulsation scale with foudroyante on a quartz. Made for healthcare workers. No Thanks 🙏 I love 💕 mechanical watches.
But all in all, Breitling is doing a pretty good job at "re-boosting" the brand I must admit. Best to you
Gshock is way better option 🙏🏻 breitling is now CCP company
Appel watch is better !
This watch is sh!t. Another fail for Breitling.
Great joke :D
😉😉
No thanks.
