I recall this being used by an online trainer recently, and as a viewer, I scrolled back to a previous slide, to recap what they were referring to.
I have to say Microsoft has taken a great leap forwards in ensuring their customers' experiences are enriched.
Thank you for sharing Sir!
I’m an Office Power user, and I learnt a fair amount from this. Thanks Kevin.
I like the comments that come up on the left panel. The annotation tool at the bottom of the presentation is cool too. Thank you for bringing this up.
Hey Kevin, is there a way i can reach out to you on email. This is wrt one of my major product release . I just pinged you on Instagram with the details.
Live has its quirks still but biggest is it does not work when you are in hybrid meeting. Where one group is at home and the other in person and you are using TV to show your presentation to local group.
I actually used PPT Live in hybrid meetings the past two weeks and the audience didn’t have those issues.
Where's your 2 million play button
Next play button is at 10 million. Nothing special for 2 million 😢.
Thank you so much Kevin! This is very helpful. Then again not making that mistake would be a Misfortune for me, as learning from your mistake is a good learning opportunity, which is why is important to make a mistake.
I'll be doing this in 24 hours and will follow your suggestions!! Thanks Kevin.
Yep, I’m one of those who starts the slides in present mode and then shares the screen. A timely reminder of the functionality - thanks 😊
This looks terrific. I will be sure to use it for my next presentation.
I I tested out a deck after watching the video and had a video filmed in portrait play back in landscape but still within the portrait shape on the slide; it was playing sideways wide and squat. Definitely need to run through the deck before presenting in live mode to make sure the functionalities work.
In PowerPoint Live view, everything is so small! Especially if you have a small laptop. That´s why most of my students (I teach older people) use the "share screen"-way instead of PowerPoint Live. I didn't know about the zoom feauture, but still.
Makes sense. One tip - you can toggle the view while presenting to show just the slide or the presentation view. So, if you want all the space for the slide, you have that option.
Very cool tips. Loved the translation of the slides feature. Didn’t know about that.
Wonderful, as always, Kevin! I will try it out when I am next time on Teams.
Another great thing with powerpoint live is that videos seem to run smoother in teams. A drawback is that it doesnt seem to have a way of showing your slides in fullscreen on an external screen. If you are presenting in a conference hall at the same time as you are presenting the powerpoint in teams, the audience in the conference hall can only watch the slides in fullscreen if you bring another laptop and join the meeting as a guest😅
You are right, it is only smart if you are not in a "mixed" situation. If you have both classic meeting and remote meeting, then you should go full screen with powerpoint desktop app then share your screen to the remote audience
@@pierrickdefossez3157 This is also the case if you have a remote presenter - we had a situation recently where we needed the remote presenter to go full screen for a room of 40 people - didn't look as good with all the teams interface around it.
I really love this feature! I am going to start off as a different presenter tomorrow lol
Amazing! Thank you for this!
Thanks for the easy to understand and fun video's you always put out!
I've seen people presenting this way, and didn't know how they were doing it. Thanks
Thank you Kevin! 👏
Another awesome tip! Thank you so much Kevin.
This is such an amazing lesson and information. You are sych a fantastic teacher. Thank you so much.
Great info, and love the closing music!
Wow, awesome! I didn't know, I want to use it next time!
Thank you Kevin, Yet another excellent tutorial. A question: Does PowerPoint Live present in a similar way to that demonstrated when you are an invited presenter in a Teams Live Event?
Thanks Kevin for this video. It's very informative.
Dear Kevin as always thanks for these informative videos ! Your explanation is so good, I pass them to my colleagues at school. I would like to ask if there is a way to present PowerPoint in teams but also on An external monitor that is a second monitor Showing the current slide only because I would have some students in class ! Keep up the good work
5:41 it would’ve been good to show what happens when you click on links within the presentation…do you stop presenting? Does it show up within the deck? Great tips…now to just get colleagues at work to start doing this so they don’t say, “I won’t be able to see the chat or if hands are up because I’m presenting, so let me know.”
Yeah, should have covered that. Clicking a link opens your default browser outside of presentation view. It's really intended more for your audience to click on vs. you clicking and then showing something on the resulting page.
@@KevinStratvert Ah! That’s good to know. Instead of copying and pasting in the chat you can just let the audience click on the screen. Cheers, thanks! 👍🏽
😂😂 Todaaay… love it. Great video as always Kevin - thanks!
Excellent dear Kevin! Excelente tus videos! Saludos cordiales desde Limón, Costa Rica!
Thank you! Lots of good information
This is cool. Much better way to present. Thanks, Kevin
Well done kevin
Great information, thanks!
Hi Kevin ! thanks a lot ! that's really awesome !
I love this! Is there a video showing me how to do this in zoom??? Great video!
Where I work, people still present PPT in the edit view. They don't even know the difference between the slide show and edit versions. Trying to explain it is a bit of a lost cause. LoL However, I will check this out for myself for sure. Thx!
Yeah, happened while I was at Microsoft too... sometimes people want the flexibility to edit text on a slide while presenting, especially if it's more of a brainstorming session.
@@KevinStratvert you can edit in a PowerPoint session whilst in the slideshow view if you change the properties of the text box, but not many know that
@@KevinStratvert I WISH that was why they were doing it. Sadly, it's just complete lack of knowledge. They genuinely don't know there is a presentation mode for it. Bless their socks and slippers!😊
@@katrinamorris6992 I did not know that! Thanks!
Thank You so much
Thanks!
Amazing! Thanks for sharing these useful tips! 👍
Amazing. Thanks for that
You're so clever! You deserved all the likes and❤❤❤❤
Thank you for this tip
Nice one sir😊
Great tip, I will try that.
Told ya! 2M🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for another informative video! 😊
thanks for the note!
It's buggy on multiple screens. We really struggle to make it work with projectors etc. It won't play on the second screen as it would do normally when presenting outside of teams. We end up just sharing normally.
Wow! I’m blown away:) thx
great tutorial
The Strat is back at it again!
I'm back! More to come soon.
A great Video Kevin - Just to let you know I have now moved into a role in our IS / IT department! You might get some more requests for different subject matter from me. Hope you, this missus and your mini me are fine. All the best from the other side of the pond!
Absolute owesome!
😊 thank you
Awesome! This reminds me why I'm subscribed! ❤❤❤
Great sharing in this video! One question I have... When I toggle to one of the Teams features while presenting (like the chat, for example) do I lose the view of my slide notes? That is a real bummer if it is the case as we interact a lot with our audiences.
Thanks for the tips!
Thank you man, I thought I know teams well 😅
Than you!
It's awesome 👌
Powerpoint Live is great... live.
But the big drawback for me is that recordings of the presentation don't show ANY of the transitions between slides. No Morph, Fade, etc. Just slide, then slide, then slide...
That lessens the experience for folks who can't attend live, but need to watch the video later. It also loses some of the polish from the work I put into my presentations (thanks for the tips, Kevin!).
Until Microsoft fixes that recording issue, I'll stick with a regular PPT slideshow, and sharing the screen that it's displaying on (Screen 1 or Screen 2), ignoring Powerpoint Live.
yes i experienced this too, and section slide zooms also dont work which is very dumb
The work would to present app, rework the powerpoint withextra slides trasincion between slides like animation frame by fram
Hey Kevin. I'm a big fan of your videos. I just have one question. Does PowerPoint Live only work on Microsoft Teams or can it also work on Zoom?
Awesome. For some reason my hidden slides get presented and do not stay hidden.
I’ve found when using this approach, animation doesn’t always play well. Especially true when using the morph transitions😂
I'll pass on the feedback to the team.
@@KevinStratvert thanks Kevin :) making the most of the M365 connections :)
Very good.
Thanks for another great tutorial, you make it so easy to follow along and learn, however...I'm still wanting to try your world famous cookies out ;-)
haha, stay tuned! I'm looking into it...
@@KevinStratvert ..thank you, can't wait!
It is great functionality the only thing i still think should be approved if you use Video in the PowerPoint the user has to be active in the meeting because they have to play the video. But still it is a great feature. Love it when not using video.
The HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE downside to Presenting in Teams is the lack of integration with Slide Zoom. I like to use Slide Zooms to ensure my PowerPoint presentations follow the lead of the audience rather than my slides dictate the sessions I present in. There is a workaround insofar as you run as a slide show and then share the contents of that screen but this automatically falls down when there is a PowerPoint with multiple presenters. This would be a MASSIVE development if Microsoft can address this issue. Thanks Kevin :)
Hi.. Great vid thanks.. Does this presenting mode drop any slide animations you have incorporated, such as list builds and 'appears'.. I tried this the other day and everything on the slide just apoeared at once?
Hi Kevin - nice video. You did I think miss one of the best points of sharing PPT this way (with PPT Live or "Present in Teams". Video shared in ppt this way will play seamlessly and be optimized for each participant (I think). I have tried many times to share video files in a presentation and they all are glitchy for the audience, except this way. PPT live works great for smooth video.
Yes! Excellent point!
Simply because I have to demo things on my pc I don't use it Switching between the presentation and desktop needs to be as seamless as possible.
If I was just showing slides then yes PowerPoint live all the way.
Thx Kevin. That was really valuable. Does Team have a Whiteboard option like ZOOM?
It is much easier to present in presenter mode this way, but I discovered 2 problems;
1) Some of the learners fiddle with my presentation, while I am presenting.
2) Some of my animations and transitions do not work correctly.
Hi Kevin! I have tried this but experience was bad with a lot of lag for the different participants. Animations were jerky and so on. Do you have any knowledge about how to optimize Power Point for larger presentations?
The issue is animation on slides, might have rework the slides with that in mind
Hi Kevin, The all-slides translation is great, especially considering that this has disappeared from (my?) PowerPoint 365 Desktop... By any chance, is there a way to download the file of this translation effort? Or to get it back in the app?🤔
How does it work with 2 screens? Sometimes I need to present to people remotely and in the same room as me. Is there an option to send it full screen on one of the displays?
Kevin. This info was something I learned by not knowing why my own embedded videos would not play in "regular" PP. I embedded some cool videos in my PP show, but when presenting them, the audience just saw stuttering frames. But, when I switched to PP live, the videos played smoothly like they should have.
You showed some options I wasn't aware of, but I do have some followup questions.
First, you said the audience can take control. What if you DON'T want them to be able to do that or to navigate through your slide deck?
Secondly, you said the slideshow has to be in OneDrive or Sharepoint. Can you expand on how OneDrive and Sharepoint are different or the same? I struggle with what the differences are.
Finally, have you done a video on how to use Cameo?
To prevent your audience from moving through the PowerPoint on their own, select Private view from the menu at the top of your screen.
In terms of the tech, PowerPoint loads the slides on everyone's computer, so you get much better performance for video and if you or attendees are on a slower internet connection. To prevent navigating through the deck, like bllayze mentioned, you can toggle on private view in the presenter view. OneDrive is more geared towards individual / personal cloud storage while SharePoint is for team cloud storage. For instance, when you leave an organization, your OneDrive goes away, while SharePoint stays alive as long as a project or initiative is ongoing. Here's everything about Cameo: ua-cam.com/video/7uAbuWlU0Dg/v-deo.html
Can you, please, create a demo video that showcases the live translation functionality in Teams? I think it needs a Premium subscription to Teams, also?
Is there a way to show your slides on the left instead of bottom?
Does PPT cameo allow for your live video to come through using an existing green screen as my background?
Kevin ❤❤❤
Really frustrating that this doesn't work if your audience are using Guest accounts as I much prefer it
Can you save the translated slides as a new ppt deck?
My issue is that someone else creates the calendar items for the meetings and Teams sees me as just another attendee so I can’t use that feature. I need to find a way to act as presenter when the meeting is created through a resource account.
ok but while you doing all of these actions switching between tools.. what the expectators can see? a small presentation as well?
Can you tell me a online or offline ai tool where I can upload few photos and the tool will provide me a video with animations and effects automatically depending on the type of theme or event I select
hey kevin in this ai world is it still useful to learn microsoft powerpoint ton earn at freelance market place??
Please change example from cookie company. Heard much about it.
Hey bro
I have been watching your vids recently and I have a question!
There are many people who wants to play Marvel's SpiderMan for free
So can u tell me how to get the game for free? Plz tell me or maybe make a video
I'm afraid PowerPoint Live doesn't support all transitions and animations. It's getting better now, but it still doesn't do the same as the desktop version. So I'll keep doing it "wrong" for now.
Cameo still isn't available in our organisation
The biggest issue with PowerPont live I have is that it does not support the Zoom functions.
I believe the team is working on this. Stay tuned!
Who have the same Desktop wallpaper ?@0:00
Presenting though teams via PPT is terrible, you cant full screen your slides so, if you are presenting on a laptop and discussing a slide you have to slick your face on the screen...
You can adjust the view to go full screen in PowerPoint Live, if you like 👍
Powerpoint Live is really clunky - it plays havoc with animations and is really buggy. It also means you don't have the meeting attendees in a separate window, which is useful.
This is how you create ontologies.
Hello do you need a video editor? How can i connect with you
No need currently.
May you allow me to publish(sell) your youtube tutorials in other platform?
Appreciate your interest, but please don't.
