Frederiksborg Castle (Frederiksborg Slot in Danish) lies approximately 40 minutes north of the city, easily accessible from Nørreport or many of the other main train stations. A castle has sat here for centuries, most notably its current iteration from the 1600s (although the castle suffered a devastating fire in the 1850s, whereupon much was rebuilt and restored). It's in a classic Renaissance style, and is actually the largest Renaissance building in Scandinavia.
Each year, the castle hosts many Christmas exhibitions and events - so I figured, what better way to get in the Christmas spirit than to wander around a snowy Danish castle?
Come peek inside Frederiksborg castle with me, including their 2021 Christmas exhibition featuring tons of memorabilia from "Julekalender", the famous Danish Christmastime TV series.

WOW! So during Winter, I need to bring a powerful flashlight! (better then theirs 😊 ) Thanks for the tip 👍 ! "Nisser" can be good or bad, depending on how you treat them 😊 ! During X-mas make sure that there well fed, and they'll have your back, the rest of the year. Otherwise, they may burn your house down 😔 (not with you or your loved ones inside - but still). Yeah. It's Danish superstition, but also Danish X-mas tradition 👍😊👍 !

By the way! We, the angry mob outside with fire and pitchforks, haven't forgotten about your Danish hot dog review disaster! You still need to go visit a standard Steff Houlberg pølsevogn and do a proper review of a standard "ristet hot dog med det hele"! I mean, it is a matter of restoring your honour! ha ha ;)

I hadn't noticed before now but those glasses look great on you. And you're right, the nightvision capture really made it seem pretty creepy. Regarding christmas preparations and christmas spirit; I haven't really celebrated Christmas in years. This year I volunteered for a Christmas party at a café for homeless people so that's my plans.

Aw thank you so much! ❤️
Oh I've been dying to do something like that - what's the name of the organisation you're doing it with? Is it in Copenhagen? Hope you enjoy your evening with everyone at the cafe, and well done for helping out!

There are many ways in which you can volunteer for charity work during Christmas.
Frelsens Hær (Salvation Army), Folkekirkens Nødhjælp, SAND, SIND, Odd Fellow, Kofoeds Skole (just to mention a few) … all is but a phone call away. I’ve spent one Christmas Eve volunteering at Kofoeds Skole in Aarhus. Was a joy to be able to make a difference for people who are living in the shadows, with no real prospect of celebrating with family and friends.
I highly suggest you phoning any of them to hear about what they plan to do for Christmas for the vast number of vulnerables. ❤️

I will look forward to you doing a follow up video on this. Frederiksborg Slot is worth all the time you can give it.
And if your #2 video is about the garden and park surrounding it, I highly recommend you wait until everything is blossoming. Spring and summer. You will absolutely adore the garden in all it’s summer glory. Beautiful surroundings. 😉

@@ErininCopenhagen yeah i guess it's kinda idyllic when you haven't taken that trip so many times i have... but yeah there's a reason why nordsjælland is the most expensive place to live besides copenhagen...

Nisserne are not evil. They are just really serious about their rights. Their rights being fed in December and first of all being belived in. And if their rights are tread upon they are quite unforgiving - almost vindictive.
