These were required on all entry doors when I had a rental in TX. I liked them.
All these ppl in the comments saying what about the window in the door, what about the bottom of the door…this is an added deterrent - just a LAYER of security. If you’re that concerned, you should install a ballistic grade steel blast door. Nothing will keep someone out who really wants to get in.
so true, you are wise beyond your years...
@@monas.6839 layer of security…hmm…ok, try starting with a solid door
@LifeHappens-xu8pg how about this is an option to work with what you have? We all can't drop everything nor have the money to just drop a new expensive door in at every entrance when we purchase a house.
' nothing will keep someone out who really wants in... '
My 12 Guage with 00 buck, and a coroner's body bag begs to differ.😂
Good point. You're only as secure as you're weakest point of potential failure. With this in mind, placement of locks out of reach of the weakest points (eg glass breakage entry points) should be carefully considered.
I installed that on my front door when my mother in law who was temporarily living with us actually have dementia. To stop her from opening the door and going out when we were not watching her closely,it worked.
I've learned over the years that screws don't need to be parallel to each other to maximize their collective strength. Something to think about and research so you can form your own opinion on....when screws are all parallel their shear strength will fail at the same point. When screws are askance to each other slightly, their shear strength will fail at different times actually creating a slightly stronger connection to the frame.
While this is a known method in framing and not necessarily for this function, the same principles seem to apply. Thanks for the video. Can't wait to install these on my exterior doors.
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
Should the manufacturer learn about that!👍
Yes this is correct. Having the screws just a bit askance from each other will provide more strength.
Angle them to for more bite outword
Will probably need to replace your short screws that hold the hinges for the doors in your house. Those are really short too.
I've upgraded to 3-4 inch screws not the shorter ones that come in the kit.
Why use screws .... use silicone it will be ok...
It works! Guy tried to kick in our back door, door frame took a beating but door would not open!! Caught it all on video! My only worry on these is if you have kids or short people in the house that need to exit quickly this lock would be a problem for them to open.
Good points! Drill and practice with the family is key here...
@@MakeItorBreakItNow Great answer My dad had my family drill a few times when I was a kid. We practiced what to do with a fire and which windows and doors were best. Had flashlights in good locations. Practice a couple times with the lights out (power out). That's how to make sure the elderly and young are able to handle the safety measures.
Great job! Our doors are solid steel, no windows. Our windows and door wall are all plexiglass lead lined, no breaking through those. Garage doors are all armour lined. Yes, all custom and worth every penny! My career choice necessitates precautions. Hubby loves that it was all reduced costs AND a tax write off! Win-win.
Sounds like you're ready for the zombie invasion!
Sounds like a sketchy line of work.
Wtf, is this guy an arms dealer?
@@adamantiumrage prosti, or drug dealer, insert something illegal and/or gray and select multiple.
I'm guessing the career is prosecutor.
This is such a great video and series I had to subscribe as a thank you. I like how you got right to it, without music or a lot of talk and that you showed different alternatives and pro tips. You're very clever. Thank you for posting.
You're welcome, appreciate the feedback...
You are an excellent instructor! I learned so many good tips and tricks in this video, thank you so much.
You're welcome, thanks for leaving such a motivating comment!
Awesome video I have these same locks. Would also recommend getting a defender security strike plate for all the doors.
Others have mentioned the defender security strike plate, I'll have to check it out.
These are great. That final install was brilliant!
Thanks.
'merica 😂 such an awesome place. Never had to live anywhere I've had to consider this. good luck to y'all.
thanks for the luck.
I had one job that they pushed the bottom of a metal door for acess. Once inside, they opened the door to get the loot out. Tenant was home at night and heard nothing. They had a duplex, entry was on the lower level. Perpetrator obviously used the oposing wall for leverage. This device looks like a good solution. When I move into my new home I'll prefer two per door, one high another low. I've seen how these loosers work the baby screws always fail. One lock I put 3 inch screws, they kicked so hard and obviously a long time the 3 inch screws and surrounding wood failed.
Wow, thanks for sharing your story.
I have three entry doors in my house, the building is built with block, the windows have a roll down hurricane shutter outside that operates from inside. The three doors are framed in solid wood, no shims, then I have three high strength security doors bolted into the frame with 12 bolts per door, then I had lexan clear panels put on the outside of those doors. 3 inch screws used for everything!! Then I have an aluminum baseball bat or the last resort a Sig Sauer 9mm loaded and chambered with 9mm hollow points with a laser pointer for night time use. My final defense is I am a qualified military marksman still at age 67, hopefully no one will ever try to come in.
Wow, sounds like a fortress. Do you ever go outside?
i’m a newbie. sorry for the silly question, but what are lexan clear panels and what do you use them for?
Plexiglass
Use the correct size vix bit instead of the center punch. Fit the chamfer on the hinge hole a the proper size pilot hole.
okay, thanks for the suggestion.
@@MakeItorBreakItNow
I have an older expensive set, found a cheaper set at Harbor, there’s an Allen set screw to replace the drill bit or set a deeper depth.
You are a wonderful teacher! Much respect!
Wow, thank you!
Thanks for the demo and info, awesome. Have a great day
Thanks for the feedback Chris!
Thanks, two of those situations were my problem also. Your demonstrations helped.
Thanks for your comment. Glad to hear my video helped you.
This is for a sinle door. What do you buy for double doors?
I have the white version of this product. Mine came with about 3 and 1/2-in screws. I also have a full length glass pane & it did not go near the glass. I have to notch my door frame a bit to make room for closing the door.
And how is the white one working for you?
@MakeItorBreakItNow works beautifully. I did have to notch some of the frame a bit to get the bracket to fit flush. If the door rubs it, the paint on the white will show where it touches.
Is the glass next to the door some kind of super impervious unbreakable glass?
It's triple pane. So not extremely easy to break as are most windows. I guess with enough motivation you could use a chainsaw and just make your way through a wall. Most thieves, even enraged people don't want to draw too much outside attention...
@RTiff You can’t go wrong with a pack of angry chihuahuas.
I own a locksmith and a security company. This is a nice layer of security to add to a door. PPL are correct, if someone wants to get in, given a lot of time, they will get in. However, I'm going to make it hard as hell and you will need to work a long time to get in. During that time, I will have you on camera, which sends me an alert when someone is near the door. The police will get there before you get in.
Ah a voice of reason, thanks for your comment. Totally agree, and if the police don't make it fast enough there are other layers of security most are ready to use...
I have those. Also would be difficult to unlock if you try and break the glass and reach around. They are sturdy as hell and cheap.
Agreed. When these are installed correctly they're fairly strong.
I DONT WORRY WHEN IM HOME TO LOCK THE DOOR. I WILL KEEP THEM OUT IF IM HOME. I NEED A GOOD LOCK WHEN IM NOT AT HOME
Maybe some security cameras?
What if you are not home, but the wife and kids are?
@@chuckb5625 Then the bf takes over 😂
@@MakeItorBreakItNowlike thief’s care about cameras.
I want to slow them down with good locks when I’m home so I have plenty of time to be prepared for them if you know what I mean…..
I prefer the ones that bolt to the floor in the middle of the door with the slide in blocking piece.
Interesting, I'll have to check those out, not sure how well they would work with tile though...
Thanks for the video. You have good ideas 👍
Thanks Jim, stay tuned for more videos,c oming soon.
I’d use 3 - 4 inch decking screws on the door hinges and that lock.
Great Idea.
did they find a way to stop it from being opened with a thin sheet of plastic? (dude used a milk carton)
Yes, install it correctly, the right amount of pressure on the door defeats the "shimming" method, along with a solid deabolt, agin installed correctly...
also if you use an impact driver it will be easier to drive the screws into the wood metal plastic even concrete. pre drilling saves you the headache of splitting and cracking the frame/2x4's
Good point, thanks for sharing.
I have the same lock (two of them) on my porch door which is solid type. I see that your door has some glass portion, so what is preventing some crazy psycho breaking the glass and reach in to unlatch this lock?! The insect net?
Nope, I have other security options in play as backup...
I have been broken into while at work, the lock held, it was the door frames that splintered..
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
I like your style. Subscribed and liked 👋
Thanks David, appreciate the sub!
What height are you in stalling the lock at?
I am thinking the one third make from the top.
The one I purchase did not have this info in the directions.
Suggestions or feed back?
Most of mine are installed 4-6 inches above the deadbolt.
But many break ins are from someone turned around backwards and kicking back their foot into the bottom part of the door over and over….they don’t bother picking the locks because the locks and door frame break from the force. Wouldn’t these need to be placed low on the door to prevent that kind of break in?
You can always install another on the bottom, also have a new option for the bottom, stay tuned for that.
Nice vid and I'll consider these types of locks. Also going to practise a hearty laugh to increase charisma :)
Sir you did mention where you purchased the product.

5:16 Help please ! I have a front and back door that its sode light is a mini french door.. i need to add for my toddlers but im unsure what the door is made of for sure not wood metal outside forsure.. the kids magnets stick to it.. lol...and mostly that it wont ruin it and or break through the glass area.. so i dont have a door frame to attach it too.. its door to mini door.. any advice ?
I made this video that might help: ua-cam.com/video/DixELCmFrbQ/v-deo.html
That lock was overcome by a piece of plastic from a milk jug squeezed and manipulated between the door frame and door. So, in saying that, there needs to be an immovable outside flange that covers that section. Then it should be more secure.
true, or if its installed correctly the milk jug can be defeated with the right amount of pressure...
Well let’s start with the double combo of Pyrenees and pit bull. Best friends by the way . Always on patrol . I’ve had em go right through the screen, 6 foot off the ground, out the front window. You may get in but you probably won’t get out alive. In seconds I have the gauge and they’ve picked the wrong house😮
Agree with your strategy here!
ty
So how would you lock it if your going out
One of the doors can't be locked....and breaking windows in.....no use
Thank you so much for all the help. Keeping my 5yr old nephew from displaying his Ninja skills !haha
Anytime, keep things safe out there!
5:39 He makes i look so easy - "Just skim it off."😂😂😂
I guess it would be easy for some...
Super fancy lock that can be bypassed by a rock coming through the window.
Windows all around are certainly an option before this door...
@@MakeItorBreakItNow Breaking, and Climbing in through a window, ….. is a LOT different than punching, and breaking a small window out of a door, and walking through in about 10 seconds….
So you would laid your safety on these alone or would you get window sensor, window crack, PIR and a shotgun?
These locks have already been shown to be easy to bypass with a piece of plastic from a plastic milk bottle.
No, the only thing a burglar has to do is get a bunch of duct tape and put it across the windows to hold them in place so they don’t fall, then take a fist with a glove on it to punch through the window. The tape will hold the glass in place and you can just pull off the tape and the glass will come with it with minimal noise, so that you can get your hand through the door and flip the lock to open. I’m from Baltimore, so I grew up learning how to break into houses and cars, but decided to live a life on the up and up and join the Air Force at age 19 and retired from it in 2009. Now I work as a legitimate automotive mechanic. 😂😂😂
My question is my backdoor has 9 little windows and wouldn't it be EASY to just bust one of the lower windows reach inside and slide the lock open and unlock the door? What do I do, without replacing the door?
put a pair of these on the door, one top and one bottom, also have shades over the door so people can't see what's inside your house...
@@MakeItorBreakItNow Thanks I will.
thanks
You're welcome Captain...
What about glass? It coukd a full plain door, if peopje to get they will . Obviously I wont say how but I could get in virtual any house ..
The question becomes, is it worth getting caught doing so?
Thank you 😊
You're welcome. Be safe!
What about a good travel lock?
Here's a video for that: ua-cam.com/video/_a10de6G1kI/v-deo.html
Can it withstand a sledgehammer or flying kick?
It can't even withstand a milk jug ua-cam.com/video/D3coZntThbw/v-deo.html
It all depends on who is deploying it. Can the attacker take on a ~200 lb angry dog protecting their turf?
What brand of deadbolt would you recommend?
I prefer deadbolts with key locks on both sides. Here's one that is highly rated: amzn.to/3neTKZF
Hand Sanitizer? WT?
Try it sometime, you might be surprised...
This and a Scar 17 should work well.
yup
Woooo too much work!

Not easy to break security glass, multiple panes...
no double entry door option?
Here's a video for double doors: ua-cam.com/video/DixELCmFrbQ/v-deo.html
@ you gotta be kidding. They look like interior doors for one and it’s basically a bike lock.
Are those locks made in the USA?
some are, some aren't. It's hard to tell. Even some that say they're made in the USA, once you get them can be made somewhere else. Can be frustrating indeed...
That'll work better on doors that DON'T have a bunch of glass that could simply be kicked through. Maybe try an all metal door?
Thanks for the suggestion.
What about the hinge side of the door?
burried inside where it's safe.
Great video
Thanks, they're still holding strong. Installing these locks propoerly is the key.
what if they just break the glass?
phase 2 comes into play...
Using this Lock and Door Armor Max Single Door Security Kit, no body will be able to kick in your doors. As long as they are steel or solid wood.
Thanks for the info, I'll check out the kit.
So these are useless to lock the door from outside?
Probably. What are you trying to keep in?
@@MakeItorBreakItNow I think what this person means is that they are not added protection for when you're leaving the house since you can't activate/engage them from the other side of your door. They are only good for when you are inside your home, which no one is denying is not a good thing in & of itself. But it would be nice to be able to engage them when you leave the house as well. Still overall, this is added protection so thank you for the information!!
So what if they break in when your not home?
Multiple layers of security at all times. Plus good neighbors...
NICE!!!
Thanks
Your French style door will withstand 800 pounds of force - assuming the intruder doesn’t apply it to the glass frame - right?
This would be more effective in an apartment building where the only entry is a solid wood or metal door.
Anyway , Flip lock looks like the better unit.
okay, thanks for the feedback.
Mobile home walls are made of sheets rock...just curious
There are different options in that case...
Where can I find those locks?

Reviews show that mechanism breaking in the closed position which means your door is CLOSED until you can saw it off
Not my experience at all and I have 4 installed.
What about upvc doors and frames
Interesting. This migh work, it depends on how strong the base material is.
Cool video
Thanks.
I would place it lower on my door closer to the point they kick at.
That would work, or you could have two, one towards the top and the other you mentioned where most people would kick...
My doors aren't locked for my protection. They're locked for yours.
Okay, good to know. Thanks for sharing.

😂😂😂
😂now i understand 🎯
Exactly, that part!
How about a hollow door????
It works with any kind of door, You could also glue a metal plate to the hollow door to reenforce it a bit more...
@MakeItorBreakItNow Thank You so much for the advice I can't wait to try it.
An impact drill will change your life, my friend.
To be honest, based on the radius of the door swing, I don't think you needed to cut into the frame for the fourth install. But hey, you did, and now we know how it went. 😁
I needed to do this, wish my install didn't require cutting in to the frame.
I can see how that would work on a solid door, but you show divided light doors. Ummm, can't you just break the window and unlock the safety lock?
Yep, most ridiculous visual I’ve seen 🙄
Triple pain is not easy to break, and I have neighbors that would notice, also have other layers to slow them down...
@MakeItorBreakItNow My apologies if I missed it, but I don't recall you mentioning any of that in the video. I assumed the purpose of the video is to resonate with your viewers, so if you didn't mention it, it might be helpful to address any qualifiers or exceptions in your explanations. Thank you for the informative video. Much appreciated.
You can shim it..
Not this one...
Über-safety😊
yup, thanks for noticing.
Now cover up your door window with iron plate, this will add +100 defense
True, how safe can anyone be?
800 lb Super Lock on Any Door>>> No use we are in NZ, if you want to break a piece of glass, you can enter almost any house.
Can you defend yourself in NZ like we can here in the US?
Wow!! These won’t work in Miami-Dade county. Building code requires external doors to open out so hurricanes winds will not blow the door in.
Interesting, I didn't know about that code...
Except the ones with glass installed.
okay, thanks.
Hahaha, 800lb lock on a door with 5ft of glass in the center 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
How many doors like this have you broken into?
Right hahahaa
If someone doesn’t care about making that much noise trying bust down a door with that lock, he probably will just break through a window anyways.
use a impact driver instead of a drill for those screws
That would help, thanks.
I have this on my door.
Do you like it?
@@MakeItorBreakItNow love it until the kids lock it and i have to wait until their mother gets out the shower to unlatch it.
Unless there's glass in the door. They can smash and just open
Why not just go through a window?
I use a 1oz lead lock on my doors.
okay, thanks for sharing.
Can’t a intruder simply break the glass in the door and physically open the safety lock you just installed?
Why do you have a window in your entrance door. It's a number one security no,no.
This glass is not easy to break through and there are other layers of security in place once they reach in. For some in the house the arm would look like a juicy steak!
they look like you could use them as a bottle opener at least.
Maybe so...
Yeah. This will work. It's not like you can pop a window out and stick your hand in and open the door 🤦♂️
There's always another way... nothing is 100 secure...
Intruder I have a big knife….Me I sleep with one eye open and a knife under my pillow….oh and Here is my chainsaw lol 😂
then you have troubles in River City for sure.
You have windows
Most houses do.
All that work when a thief can break the window on the door, reach in and open the lock, or use a glass cutter and do the same thing. Down the street from my house they kicked in the front wood door, down came the locked door along with the door frame.
How much time do you think a thief wants to tke or have before being noticed?
Locking Picking Lawyer and his milk jug would like to have a word
And those words are "breaking and entering" around my area he goes to jail...
lol will it hold up to a sledgehammer?
It depends on who is weilding it...
*I even drilled a small piece of metal on the door where the cushion sits on the door. That longer plate will move the pressure more around the door instead of just the pad* PS I'm surprised for someone who seems like doing pro work you're using a crappy drill.
