    Great video showing how good Harly Benton guitars have gotten and why you shouldn't be scared of setting up a floating bridge.

      Thank you for the comment. I fully agree, and this is a "cheap" Harley Benton. If you go to their midrange instruments, you have one that is gig worthy on any stage.

    Hello. Can you please tell me if the thickness and width of the neck is the same for HARLEY BENTON BEATBASS and Höfner Ignition SE?

  • @lapinmaki

    If note is too high on 12th fret then bridge is too near to 12th fret. But if you fix string height at same time, then it maybe little different thing.

      I know there are tons of knock off versions of this bass. Within the "serious brands" You have Hofners Chinese version, Epiphones and this Harley Benton. I've triend them all and this HB is not only the cheapest, but also the best in my opinion.

    • @glenchoitz9497
      @glenchoitz9497 6 років тому +2

      Bought the Hofner Ignition 2 weeks ago...$100 more and free shipping (3 days), but has a few advantages, to me at least...Number 1 is brand, even though a Chinese bass same as that one, it is more known as THE violin bass brand and so easier to sell if I should decide to. Has staple pickups, at least the covers, instead of the flat topped humbuckers, proper style tuners and proper cut pickguard, and the Hofner signature tailpiece. While it is the same bass as this one, those appointments add up to what I wanted if I was going to buy a 'Beatle Bass'. Not a single flaw anywhere. Plus it was available here in the US already with no worries about shipping damage problems from Germany. Either one is a winning deal... I just liked the more authentic look for a few bucks more. Have fun...sounds good!

    • @StudioChimiel
      @StudioChimiel  6 років тому

      Glen Choitz actually, the lack of the pickguard on the HB was another reason I prefered this one as Sir Paul removed his most of the time.

    • @glenchoitz9497
      @glenchoitz9497 6 років тому +1

      For me...I wasn't trying to replicate Sir Pauls bass, though I do tend to play more Beatle tunes on it...Just never owned a violin bass before and wanted to try one out with the option of selling it in a year or so if I grew tired of it. Think I will just keep it though, is fun to play and didn't break the bank to buy it, $299 shipped here in the states... another $85 for the case...so i'm happy with that. Gets new La Bella flatwounds today.

    Nice one! Always liked the Beat-Bass. Could you do a video of your Thunderbird and the EB-3 copy one day?

    • @StudioChimiel
      @StudioChimiel  6 років тому +1

      JacknCocaine I sure can! The EB3 isn't really in a good shape, but there's lessons to be learned from that. The T-Bird has annecdotal value, and is a decent bass for the money.

    What kind of flatwound strings do you use on them?

    • @StudioChimiel

    You spent too much time doing pseudo-review, "measuring", pretending to be a "luthier", and at the end you play terribly bad. Play more, talk less. I'm thumbs down #18.
