    I've come back and re watched this video prob 10X. By far the best tips vs other youtube videos. All the details from cutting on foam, to stacking the quarter widows for symmetrical cuts and screw holes, cleaning the edges w the sander w a bevel, painting the black border, and the mention of the screws with beauty washers like khaki. Mine came out cherry 👌🤌.. the only thing I did different was i made cardboard templates of each window so I could place them more accurately on my full sheet of lexan. I was able to get all 5 pieces for my Civic coupe from one 4'x8' sheet.

    "We're gettin rid of them tho... uh huh..." LMAO.
    Also, FYI: UV stabilized lexan (aka polycarbonate) is what you want unless it's track-only and/or won't spend much time in the sun. If you are gonna daily it spend even more for the scratch resist and uv stable version. That said, even the "cheap" polycarbonate will last for years. Velcro seriously rocks, works at over 150mph if done well. The adhesive (or paint you stuck it to) will fail before the hook and loop fastners! I have never screw-mounted it, but was told to use washers, with rubber/felt/schmoo underneath, and over-size the holes for the expansion so it does not crack. It's more of a problem the larger the window. Great job with the black border paint, thats how to make it look pro. Great how-to, keep up the great content!

    Dude, awesome videos. Another thing that can be done after cleaning up the edges is with a blow torch glass up the white foggy look thats left after sending. You lighty pass the torch over the edge and it kinda melts the lexan just a bit and hardens like glass. Ive done it before with lexan.. And yep i learned it on UA-cam... Not sure if it would even matter but food for thought.

    Honestly there is no better preparation than having the CORRECT TOOLS for the SPECIFIC JOB! Harbor freight is your friend! don't let some of these dipshits scare you away from harbor freight for the price you can't beat their tools! Don't get me wrong some of their shit is mediocre but most of it cannot be beat for the price and the job you're using each specific tool for! Great video dude you're a good teacher (explaining)🙏

    just a suggested topic update
    this was good
    However
    No one or no body talks about the following
    Polycarbonate thickness their are several choices from .093 sheet thickness going upwards
    Home depot and lowes have the similar thickness stocks and sizes
    Has any one used a cut to size polycarbonate dealer like Curbell? or others
    am thinking 1/8 thickness is better? better to use on rear hatchback vehicles
    if you paint the polycarbonate black to match oem will industrial velcro still work??

    How do I curve them so the door windows roll up and down is what I want to know? Pro Glass wants almost 800 bucks to make a pair and have to send the factory ones to them, in hopes they make there in one piece. and if U want to keep them to race in classes that require them U have to pay to have them shipped back in hopes of the same...

    what are the weight savings on one window like that compared to glass one, when you include the weight of the screws?

    • @Supreme_Pribs
      @Supreme_Pribs 2 роки тому

      Just a rough guess but if he's using 1/8" lexan compared to glass I'd probably guess a good 8-10lbs on the smaller windows and maybe 25lbs or so for the front and back windows and say 12lbs for the bigger front windows if done
