    There are other videos on this topic, but this one by far gives you the finer details not covered by the others. Thank you for clearly showing the exact bolts that hold the valve body on, versus the other ones that you don't touch. Also clearly showing the part with the umbrella gasket, and confirming that the blue and black solenoids are not interchangeable and you can't get those wrong. Also clearly showing the shift lever position sensor and also the plug at the top. You didn't show cleaning the solenoid screens but the other videos show that. One warning though - those jack stands were hyper-extended, you had more than a ton of room. Stay safe and thanks!

    10:55 - Those bolts are torqued to 4Nm then turned an additional 180° which means they are stretched. It's a risk you take re-using them especially if you torque them the same again. I would only tighten them firmly hand tight given they are a 6mm alloy bolt.

    For $1,360 total with tax & complete Transmission Service I just had a Indy replace my Conductor Plate ($460 for the plate alone) with a new one from Mercedes (They are Authorized to Program as it's a Theft Part). Mercedes S550 96K. I got the P0717 P2767 codes. My car would get stuck in 5th or 6th gear every couple months. Restart fixes it Temporarily. Then got Limp Mode (stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear). Restart fixed it, so I just booked the job. FYI Make sure you have Version #2 or #3 Valve Body. Version #1 you must replace Valve Body & Conductor plate together. 👍🏼 Shifts like butter now. I still wouldn't own any other Brand Car (they all have their issues too YES Especially Toyota & Honda) Mercedes S class drives & feels like no other car. Everytime I sit in it, I thank God. 🔥✝️🔥

    Good day, I have a 2008 Mercedes Benz.. brought it to the shop for a service, oil change etc.. one day after the service the car slams into reverse and drive gear, additional the transmission won’t shift out, it’s just driving in 1st gear.. brought it back to the shop, they said it’s the transmission valve body.. the car was prefect before that service

      If you mean a transmission service rather than an engine oil change, these symptoms can happen from having a low level of transmission fluid.
      Very likely that the fluid level was not set correctly.

    Point of correction for those who want to do this on their own. Don't just take the valve body solenoid out without making it, it might be the same color but they have different values. Mean the number on each solenoid is different. If you please then wrong you might have issues with your transmission shifting.

    Could you please take a look at the diagnosis I've made with the quotation marks and let me know your opinion (simply just an opinion, nothing else ) if this solenoid and or conductor plate failure 2006 ML350 4MATIC is equipped with the 7G-Tronic transmission, which is also known as the 722.9 transmission
    " is stuck in gear one after recently getting the gearbox oil change. It won't go past gear 1. I did two things; first, I checked the contactors on the right of the oil drain plug. And it did have oil on it. So I cleaned it with contactor spray. The second thing we checked was if the gearbox was overfilled with oil by opening the plug to see if any oil did come out. And a lot overfilled it, but neither helped.
    Additional things:
    I've noticed that the car makes a big noise & shakes when shifting from park to drive, or reverse.
    The second thing is that there are no error codes. (but there was some before the problem occurred)
    The third thing I noticed was that it was not in limp mode. It would rev to the red line in gear 1.
    The fourth thing was that it wouldn't work with paddle shifters either. (prior to the oil change, only to gear three and after the gearbox oil change, all the gears for one day then the problem occurred)
    Errors that showed previously but after the ABS sensor replacement cleared never came back. This was the original problem. The gearbox oil change was just precautionary.

    • @Mil-usos
      @Mil-usos  3 місяці тому

      There are 3 things that come to mind.
      1. The codes have not been cleared with a proper scan tool. Mercedes is notorious for acting up after a repair, but the codes haven't been cleared.
      2. You received a bad wheel speed sensor (abs sensor).
      3. The plate needs to be repaired. Usually a turbine speed sensor.
      These transmissions are usually "bulletproof," and it is extremely rare that the transmission itself has failed. The failure with these are mostly electronic. Does the scan tool you use scan the transmission for codes?

      Hey John Zito I’m having same issue with delayed hard 4-5 shift on light to medium throttle (less noticeable when reving it out) .I suspect (hope) the solenoid is a little clogged at the screen and thus the fluid flow is restricted which can cause rough shift ….anyway I ordered all new solenoids and will be tackling this soon !!! Do these solenoids fail because of poor transmission maintenance , that is, not renewing the filter and fluid on schedule or is it just their life expectancy with age and miles? What are the driving symptoms of these failing solenoids?

    • @a.v.auditsl8517
      @a.v.auditsl8517 2 роки тому

      This is a common issue with the 722.9. The solenoids start getting stuck after a while because of poor maintenance( gunk in the oil). The symptoms are: while putting the car into park or drive etc.. the car will kick, also while driving, when the car changes gear it will kick mostly in gears 1-4. I had this issue, i did a whole transmission service and drained the torque converter, put 9 new liters of fluid.. with the right process, i reset my transmission module, dealer states 250 mile process to feel the difference, thats wasnt true on my end, dont get me wrong my car drove way smoother after the change but it wasn’t till around 1000 miles till the kicks completely went away. Let me mind you that i bought my 2014 c250 with 77,000 miles and never had the atf change, man that oil was black and very dirty, dealer says to change atf every 70k but i read on forums where they recommend to change the atf on these 722.9 every 35k, I think i will start doing mine every 20-30k. Hope this helps!

      @@a.v.auditsl8517 Thank you for your response. I am the third owner and I acquired this car ( 09 E350) from a friend who had the transmission serviced at the dealer at 42k miles. It was filter change and a drain and fill. At 65k miles. I personally drained all the fluid out , including the torque converter, and filled back according to the proper guidelines which includes letting the excess flow out at 45 degrees C. At 95 k miles I did a filter change and drain and fill again although I merely pumped up the amount that drained out. I let the car sit overnight before doing this and I left out the containers of fluid next to the car so the temperatures would be approximately the same. The fluid in all my maintenance was never dark and dirty. There was always a tint of red and it was clean. The only thing that annoys me with this transmission is a hard down shift at times especially when accelerating and backing off the gas as in a traffic stop and go situation, It is totally random and I live with this.

    Hey man i really appreciate this video. I wanted to ask if there was any adaptation or programming needed after installation of new solenoids? Thanks!

      Happy to hear you enjoyed the video. If there were any codes stored, they need to be cleared. Mercedes is notorious for its cars still acting up, even if the problem has been fixed. Once you fix the problem and clear the codes, the car should drive just fine.

    While reusing the pan bolts do you still torque them to 4nm + 180 degrees without any issues?

      You shouldn’t reuse them, they are aluminum and they stretch

      @@tariqrashid1000 I only flushed the transmission, changed the filter, gasket and bolts. I bought the kit from the stealership and in it were the bolts as well.
      I did not have a torque wrench to torque them but I used a 1/4” drive ratchet , this way I couldn’t tight them too much risking braking them
