This is so beautiful! I recently just started gouache painting and can only wish to reach at this level one day. I wished more people would show their gouache talents, I feel like it is an underated medium :/
Excellent work great presentation especially on the greens too that could be a lesson in itself I'm just starting out and using Painting as post stroke cognitive rehabilitation kindest regards Mick T
Wow ... The matt finish of th gouache gives it a most realistic look but rhw chamge of color after drying will make it difficult to work with .anyways getting gouache soon . This inspired me . Pluse i always wished there was something not so light like water color and not sl plasticy like acrylic. I didnt know it existed since years😁
You look like you are using the technique I have imagined I think would work for me at least in this demonstration . I call it "pin point " painting where you use a small amount of paint full strength side by side versus a lot of "washes" one on top of another . Let me know if that is something that can work . I have not painted in gouache yet but want to use it along with oil .
Cheers, you are one of a very few that explain what you are doing. Very nice painting, bravo!

Extremely well explained. So much detail work. Now I'm convinced my gouache will continue to gather dust. This would make me so tight and tense.
Is this the medium that John Paul Strain uses for his civil war paintings ?
