Amazing results....but the journey was more interesting....excellent teaching to details....I love the tonal values you created....Thank you. I'm madly in love with gouache....Very easy medium with superb results
Matt I loved the video. I could kinda hear some uncomfortable choices? While still plugging along . It reminds me of Casin paint ? I see that same thing it drys somewhat slower & covers all the light . So far no yucky smell ! I love watercolor and getting ready to join your website . I just purchased some WN Gouache white & lights for that punch of highlights needed at times . I believe from all the UA-cam channels.. yours is still in touch with actually teaching ! Thank you for teaching us your knowledge in Art.
Hi, thank you so much for taking your time to share your knowledge about gouache and other art matters. It is much appreciated, and I enjoy your videos a lot. I have a question for you : I have recently bought a collection of gouache, and I find it way too matte, it simply doesn't look nice. Is it possible to find some more glossy / shiny variants or can I add some extra medium of some kind that can give it a more glossy look? Or is it just because the quality of my gouache is bad? In this case - which brand would you recommend?
Always love your work and teachings and this ranks as one of my favorites. I have a question and forgive me if it and its answer are silly. Both being water soluble opaque mediums, whats the difference between gouache and acrylic paints?
maggs131 there are 2 types of gouache - “Designer’s” (or “Artist’s”) gouache and Acrylic gouache. Acrylic gouache is very similar to acrylic paint, as it is not re-wettable. The main difference is that gouache of both types dries with a matte finish, unlike the plasticky finish of acrylic. The regular (Designer’s) gouache is rewettable, both in the palette and on your painting.
Elisa Cetta If you look it up online, you'll see that they are different. Also there exists acrylic Gouache. Maybe a research could help you witj what you're personally interested in.

Thanks for this video on Gouache painting- I devote a lot of time to this medium on my UA-cam channel and really loved your style of teaching!
Very useful, especially because I have some gouache and am trying to learn the medium.
That is very beautiful
Laughing 😂 so hard!! Throwing thick paint on, covering up all the white paper!! Hilarious!! So true…
Wow, this will help me make water! Thanks!

... Perhaps you could make a video about this, as others probably have the same problem.

I agree; I need to know what colors he is using and blending.
Alexsandra Rokas i think he uses winsor and newton
Will I get the same effects if I use acrylic instead of gouache?
It looks so real! That's really amazing. You are a genius.

It looks good besides the rocks
Amazing, but the rocks ruin it. They look like they’re 2D
