This is the sequel to my reaction video - when I still didn't know anything, including how a torque wrench works - and I still didn't have decent lights in the garage. Yeah, I was holding picture spotlights for a few weeks before I got a headlamp, shop lights, and magnetic flashlights. Life for a newb is hard.

As a mechanic newbie, my first torque wrench was cheap and had a twist lock knob at the end. I later bought a more expensive one with a spring self-locking mechanism. You simply pull the handle to unlock, twist to the desired torque, then let go of the handle to let the spring lock the torque setting. I don't know the name of the tool, but below is an example,

It is worth it if you torque often. There are other torque wrenches that beep or has the dial.

Hey it looks like you got your jack stand on in the wrong position, just rotate it 90° from now on so the pinch weld is inside of the little V, and for torque wrenching/wrenching in general it’s better to push down rather than pull up, you’ll throw your back out after some time. Don’t want you getting hurt, your videos and copious amounts of marijuana are what help me sleep these days

hey, I'm not seeing the jackstand in this video, but I have bent my pinch welds to hell by letting any weight on them ever and apparently they are deeper than others because anything that isn't the jack that came with the prius will just crush those poor welds. I made a video about it but it might be imbedded in some other topic or I never uploaded it. ...oh yeah, when I made the fuel tank video, I went on a huge tangent about what happened with my jack then I realized I needed to make a whole video for it instead, took it out, and then forgot by the time I was done with the fuel tank video. pffffftthhahahaha.
I'm so happy to hear my videos are helping you sleep! And yeah, I *think* I've learned to push down on the torque wrench. My back is already effed up and it did yell at me for doing things wrong. But this is why I need to get faster about uploading - this footage is from October! I would've loved quick responses like this when I was still in the midst of the thing
