Hi, very good video, do u know what size the holes are in the alloy bushes, am away to get some made up and was wondering if u have drilled them slightly bigger for easy fitment or if they are exactly the right size? Thanks
Interesting tweaks to the steering rack. Does the motor make much of a difference? I'm due to replace my own EP3's steering rack (it doesn't self centre) and have been told the racks are the same... it's either the motor or EPS ECU that controls the speed of the steering?
Neil Magill The racks have different part numbers, from my understanding the facelift is slightly faster and this is done by the rack and pinion not the motor.
Great video mate, how easy is it to remove the rack on these? Does it come out from the wheel arch gap? Also does the brass rack slider make a good difference? My rack is fucked.
It won't fit through the arch gap 😉 but it will squeeze out the top if ya take the motor off an move a couple of brackets done one recently wasn't the ordeal I thought I was gonna be saying that it was on an ep2 an that k20 is on the opposite side so dunno if that even helps
hey mate. subbed. first video i see of you, and it is very good. you seem to know your stuff, so i have a question for you. i'm looking for some coilovers for my ep3, it is a daily driver with fast road en occasional track use. i was thinking of getting either BC or yellowspeed coilovers. but i get very confused with supporting mods. i'm not looking to drop it a whole lot, maybe 20-30mm. would just a rack raiser be enough? or would i also need inverted tie rods? or are only tie rods better then the raiser?
Hey glad you found the videos useful! As far as suspension goes I will be upgrading mine very soon. When choosing what to go with I kept these points in mind and in order: 1. Its a daily driver. 2. Its used on track. This lead me to go with the Miesterr Zeta CRD+ with custom spring rates (10kg front 14kg rear). The reason is the extra weight of the Supercharger at the front and the extra power making the rear squat under power. If you have a N/A EP3 I would go with spring rates (8kg front 12kg rear). Supporting mods you need: Rack riser Rear camber arms
Subbed, really love the in depth look at your mods, those solid bushings and preface motor are a really interesting touch. My rack is knocking badly, got the brass slider waiting to go in, hoping it helps. Also got Todd's caster plates to go on which are supposed to add some weight to the feel plus dynamic camber, have you considered anything similar?
Cheers bud, was considering those Superpro too as my compliance bushes are a bit tired. Think your track vids are good evidence that they hold up well, you give them a good work out haha! With caster plates too it would be nudging towards 6 degrees though, maybe a bit much?!
hey whats up man, what coilovers have the flat arms or how can i change out that bottom portion of the coilover?, i really want to eliminate bump w/o having to invert my rod ends or using the tegiwa riser.
My rack has been drilled so the holes the bushes go into are not oem. It is possible to have a set made to fit the oem rack, but its not a cheap mod... circa £150.
James EP3 It depends on the quality and if they are up to the job in the first place. Replacing them is less expensive than buying OEM honda track rod ends. My coilovers are Miester Zeta R, but I believe they don't make them like that anymore.
James EP3: Seeker from Japan still use straight arms, Meister R stopped using the design as some customers reported that they made the steering wander badly.
UpShiftTrackdayVideos Haha! Bet you're right, people don't do enough research, Meister R probably decided it would be easier to cater to the lowest common denominator, rather than have bad rep from people who did not set things up correctly. The amount of EP's you see riding on the floor with rear bias stagger shows how little research people do when modding this platform...
I have a problem on my '05 em2 coupe. I have a k-swap, and the electric steering rack sits much higher on the fire wall in my car, so the tie rods are in a bit of an angle to the wheels, is that normal or is there something i can do to fix it? The steering realy sucks, its inconsistent, and when taking a mild turn, when i let go of the steering wheel, it kind of stays in place, not returning to a center position.., any ideas?.... now im looking for hardrace tie rods + ends, and a rear camber kit + front camber bolts, and then get a good alignment and will see if its better Thx

Hi. SA-1 B is it face lift rack? Or SA2B. Face lift rack is quicker? Thanx for answer.
what coilovers have the straight arms an do you know the size of the solid bushings?
Hi man, awesome video, the difference you mean is only the motor of the rack? Between pre face and facelift

I have the exact same problem in my k-swapped em2 coupe, the steering is inconsistent and never really self centers...
Whats the fix?
Tyx alot!

Great work how does it feel now also could you make me them bushes to replace?? can’t seem to find them anywhere
Great work 👍🏼

Hi. What is the outer thread of the rod? 14x1.5?

James Bagguley Thanks. I have Superpro cast increase bushes, ar the moment its got around 2'25° of caster.

This was helpfull.. my ep3 600 hp and dont go straight at all.. im trying this..

Is it much difference after you replaced those bushes?
Do you sell the solid track bushings?
Where do I get them?
Where can i buy the solid bushings?
I will be interested dude you have to do the rsx and I'll get the pair to for the ep3 let me know
Hi is there any chance you can direct me to where you got the boots for the track rod ends from?? Cheers
They are from McGillMotorsport.
UpShiftTrackdayVideos spot on thank you!
I like those steering rack bushings. Any chance you could send me the dimensions or have made?

UpShiftTrackdayVideos alright, thanks for the reply.
Don't the spherical track rod ends wear quicker? And what coilovers do you have with the flat part for the track rod to go into
James EP3 It depends on the quality and if they are up to the job in the first place.
James Bagguley I can only think that the people reporting that issue were running at the standard ride hight or didn't have the tracking redone.
UpShiftTrackdayVideos Haha! Bet you're right, people don't do enough research, Meister R probably decided it would be easier to cater to the lowest common denominator, rather than have bad rep from people who did not set things up correctly.

where did you get those inverted tie rods? =)
would you happen too know the bolt size for the spherical link by any chance?
They are 1/2 bolts, as for the spherical track rod ends they came from compbrake.
Do you have any for a rsx rack
exit9 mastertec I never had any extra made as not enough people seemed interested.
I just came across this vid. I’d be interested in getting a set of the solid bushings for a DC5 rack.
