@@aritakalo8011 Obviously the technology will allow the receivers to become smaller. Look at an 80's cell phone, then a current one. A computer used to take up huge rooms, now your cell phone is way more powerful than any of those old computers.

You're making a gravely mistaken assumption that the service will be free.
WiFi is free once you buy the router and adapters for your devices. Once configured you have a wireless network between your devices.
It is the connection to the internet that you have to pay for.
Also what is this air cable your talking about in the 90s? Never heard of that. I know of Broadcast TV which existed in the 90s and still exists today where your local stations broadcast their programing for anyone to pick up with an antenna for free.
if you were to shell out millions of dollars to build underground cables or launch rockets into space, wouldnt you want people who are using your service to pay a high price?

For long long time I thought internet is drawn directly through satelite but lately I just came to learnt that internet is wired. Now space-x has been fulfilling my imagination.
Vetchizo Khusoh welcome to 2020. Since was invented they put undersea cables to connect all countries😂 the latest use a huge optic fiber to any points in the world. Satellites was just not fast enough and have issues on cloudy weather.
I live in Canada and they have cable on every street around mine but not mine. Running on 25mb and 1mb upload 500 cap, Sounds good though but its satellite and very inconsistent also were forced to share 1 tower with everyone so it gets crowded and very so 50% of the time 500kb - 1mb. When it's good it runs around 3 - 7 MB. It costs 99$ a month CAD. 20 dollars less than fibre. Also, my friend who lives 1 minute away, a 5-minute walk. has cable

I'm looking forward to this coming online. I live in a rural location with no wired internet options. I also look forward to when they interconnect the satellites via laser links for maximal throughput and minimal handoff time. I'm assuming the antenna will have to be outside like for GPS in order to receive a signal. I may have to have a way of elevating an antenna given my yard is surrounded by forest, which cuts down the angle of sky visibility. Maybe some sort of platform that slides up and down a pole on a sleeve (similar to a flagpole).
This will tear apart so many horror movies about someone being haunted and with no signal in some remote place
And the Internet Service will be named "Skynet"

Colonel Kablooey well, we could just nuke it. It sounds outrageous but it’ll warm the planet up quickly and melt the poles which will in turn thicken the atmosphere. Just be immune to radiation and you’ll be fine

@@Skyflairl2p I'm not sure if you remember the dawn of social media. There were multiple sites you could go on that did the same thing Facebook provides. However, Facebook offered a more refined experience. People were drawn to in and discarded their other social media accounts. What do we have now? Facebook. That's it.
Yes this isn't control over the entire internet, but if it's successful in providing an experience that is much better than what we have today, other broadband options will disappear. All these internet providers won't all be able to launch all these damn satellites to create their own network to compete. There will only be Starlink. so yeah. It's kinda fucked up.

@@tbullock79 Things we do not need anymore get outdated, facebook offered everything needed in the social media market, so competitors of course fell short. If indeed the same thing were to happen with ISPs then how is that a bad thing? if starlink gains monopoly through a "much better experience than we have today" thats literally the only, single most important thing. if nobody else can compete then starlink deserves the monopoly, this mentality is whats keeping us from innovating faster. However! starlink only offers availability, Not bandwidth. Starlink offers to be "enough" but not anywhere near a fiber optic solution or anything needed by a business such as server providers, media sharing services, etc. And also power-users such as myself (750mbit/s down and 150mbit/s up) theres no possible way they can achieve speeds rivaling that with current tech, and in the event they somehow do invent that technology then again, brilliant! there literally is only plusses to be had with this technology, sure there are downsides to a corporate monopoly. But far more positives in this scenario.
