There's a wealth of content that just won't be in CSL2 for a long time if ever. The fully modded cities are the culmination of the near decade of work the modders and developers have taken for this game. Take advantage of it! Looking to see the end of Rochester as well as Pittsburg
Yes CS2 is hot topic and I'm sure people will want to watch it too, but the work in these series is much different than both CS1 and CS2, so I'm sure many people will still watch ongoing CS1 series
I agree with your view point of only having interest in a 1-1 scale build with mods and overlays. I have not shared my build of Kyiv which was the 3rd variation as I could not find interest simply building a vanilla or non 1-1. However, it is very time consuming and updates cause so many issues for my city. I also built my computer around this build. Network multi-tool is awesome. Great work on today's episode and camera highlights!!!!
Really hoping you keep this and the Pittsburgh series going, don’t care how long it takes! CS 2 is going to be around for a long long time and it’ll take awhile to get any type of custom assets for any city. Let alone they’ll probably be a decent amount of bugs
I grew up in Greece, the suburb to the northwest - I *hate* this city, lol,, but you make me feel nostalgic! I actually never spent any time downtown, so it's interesting to see here! Especially since I left town in '99! It really needs a winter theme and a half-meter of snow to feel truly like 'home' though! Not grey enough! lol
I absolutely would continue to watch CS1 content from you and any other creators who stick with it. I don't really enjoy vanilla content that much either so I hope some people do end up staying with the original at least till CS2 modding community gets going
Looks stunning! I will certainly keep watching until you are finished with this even as Cities Skylines 2 is released. What really makes this game special is all the work done by the mod creators to allow us to make this level of detail possible. It will likely be a long while after release before CS2 gets somewhere similar.
Your work is gorgeous as always. I will ALWAYS watch Cities: Skylines 1 content! I won't be interested at all in the sequel until a lot of community made assets are released; I played SimCity 4 from 2003-2018! Sometimes a good thing is timeless enough to keep enjoying even after it is no longer vogue!
Absolute banger of an episode! I would love a vanilla series from you to see what you can come up with using that beautiful gaseous touch. Thank you so much for all your amazing content!
Thank you! I would love to take on more cities but at the moment I am focusing on the two current city projects I have in process (Pittsburgh and Rochester) :)
Maybe when ROC or PIT is done, could you build Buffalo? It has a rich sports and brew culture, like Pitt, and is the gateway to Canada for many Americans. It was a planned city and also is near Niagara Falls.
Please keep working CS1. Rochester and Pittsburg. It's more than great and I learned so much from you in case of realistic setups... I will continue on my 800K-population CS1-City, even since I passed the node limit long ago (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Jersey on 99 tiles). I am constantly trying to delete nodes in the existing networks (using PO and / or NodeController) in order to be able to complete the open areas of my city ;-)... My biggest wish for CS2 is to have lots of vehicles and pedestrians to avoid ghost cities beyond a certain city size. (I don't worry about the GPU or RAM with my 64GB MacBook Pro).
I hope you continue both Rochester and Pittsburgh because your work has been amazing. At least continue until you can get to your urban renewal aspect that you have talked about in both series. I found it really interesting when you talked about playing vanilla on console version leading you to buying a PC. I started on the free version on Xbox game pass and that led to UA-cam and finding it on steam where the amazing mod community just sucks you in and makes it hard not to play. My kids give me grief for the almost 3k hours spent on my cities.
I will continue to watch CS1 "City Painting" series.. Not sure when I will go to CS2 (yeah, the road building does look pretty awesome), but I will definitely keep with CS1 for some time.. I still have a long time to go with my Austin Tx build.
Wow love this series! It’s been amazing to see my neighborhood come to life through your build. Btw, the google map images are a little outdated. The apartment building next to the skate park has been completed for years. It’s a cool area with a promenade that goes out over the water. You maybe also find the same where the old inner loop was, all the buildings there are complete now. Thanks for creating this fantastic series, I look forward to continue watching until you’re done!
Hopefully you do a vanilla series jn cs2. Ive watched the videos in all the features and i think you would have a field day in vanilla cs2 let alone modded cs2
Love to see Rochester as I am from Western NY. No one has done Niagara Falls or Buffalo yet, anyone know of a detailed recreation of that area just an hour or so from Rochester?
I know there's someone in my discord who attempted Niagara Falls in CS. I don't believe I have seen any Buffalo Projects however. It was on my shortlist before I chose Rochester!
i hope you can find some images of The Nathaniel (corner of court st and south ave) as its been done for well over a year, yet google earth has not yet updated the construction site images
Hi there. I just watched a video from another UA-camr called City Nerd. He makes brilliant videos about cities. Then watched this video. You sound very similar. I hope you are OK with me asking, and understand if you prefer not to say, but are you the same person. If not apologies, but his videos are great and very informative.
dude, where's the link to that parking asset? Been looking for the ability to do underground parking for a while. Thanks! Also re: continuing the series or swapping to Cities2, I'm predicting there'll be some way to port. If not natively I'm certain SOMEONE's gonna create a mod for it. Too many awesome cities that'd be left behind otherwise.
I honestly can’t find it, it may be a private asset from NinjaNoobSlayer. Here is the most similar one I could find - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1699051472
I’m going to continue to watch till the city is complete no matter how long that takes.
As someone living in the Rochester area, this is the best reconstruction I've seen of the city. Good luck on continuing it!
I definitely will still watch cs1 content, not everyone could get cs2 when it lunch

Can’t believe how much this game has evolved
It's awesome to see these buildings come to life. What an awesome project!
Thanks so much Jopy! I really appreciate your help and guidance as I learn to 3D model 😄
cant wait to see you tackle the strong museum of play and the public market!

I know I will still watch/play CS1 for a while after CS2 comes out. It will take a bit of time for modders to bring a strong asset library to life.

Maybe don’t live in Greece then
Irondequoit is much more fun
0:58 My retired grandpa worked on this bridge, and also alot of other roads and sidewalks in Rochester
This feels so meta to watch after just graduating from the University of Rochester

Good stuff, as always! Loved that water works building.
Wild. I drove through here every day for years for work.
I live in Rochester NY and am thoroughly impressed! The attention to detail is astounding. All of the skyscrapers are spot on. Great work

This is amazing since I live here, and have worked in some of these businesses! I’m here for the long run keep it up!

Im sticking around for the completion of all of your builds.
Sometimes i can't tell watching dron footage right away, that's how realistic this game can look.
Absolute banger of an episode! I would love a vanilla series from you to see what you can come up with using that beautiful gaseous touch. Thank you so much for all your amazing content!
I love this!! Seriously, the effort put into this is incredible. I was thinking, maybe you can do Buffalo, New York as well at some point?
Thank you! I would love to take on more cities but at the moment I am focusing on the two current city projects I have in process (Pittsburgh and Rochester) :)

I am so glad I found this channel! I gotta say the builds you are doing are some of the best I've seen.
Thanks! Glad you like the videos!
This is 🔥. After your done with the Rochester build you should do Nashville next!
I will continue to watch CS1 "City Painting" series.. Not sure when I will go to CS2 (yeah, the road building does look pretty awesome), but I will definitely keep with CS1 for some time.. I still have a long time to go with my Austin Tx build.
best cities skylines builder without a doubt
i've been to rochester many times and that looks exactly like it

I’m definitely looking forward to the finished project ❤
What a video to come home to!
Amazing work, well done!
Like what you did so far.. I would make one tweak is vary the rate of the water coming out the pipes of library to give a realistic look
I'm a newer viewer here but I would love to see a Milwaukee or Minneapolis-St. Paul build
I will definitely continue to watch CS1 content.
I will probably wait to buy CS2 until there’s some mods so it feels more like modded CS1
Lets Go !!!!
Hopefully you do a vanilla series jn cs2. Ive watched the videos in all the features and i think you would have a field day in vanilla cs2 let alone modded cs2
You should play both, but stay with Cities 1 for the mods until Cities 2 catches up before switching over fully.
CS 2 won’t allow such detail as the current CS 1, so after initial hype dies down, CS 1 + mods will be more interesting.
amazing job can u increase traffic in to the city some how lol keep it up love your work!!
The traffic will come soon! I need to actually add some homes 😄
The vanilla car park works aswell btw
As an underground garage? Also I wasn’t aware that there was a vanilla garage to be honest! I will look into it more, thanks :)
@@GaseousStranger ye as an underground garage
Could you by any chance do a video about Johnstown, PA? It’s a medium city in Cambria County

Not the same person, but I love their channel and watch every single video, so I am definitely inspired by them! I guess it shows 😂
The detail you do is insane! something I will never have. lol btw what's your PC specs?
Thank you!

GPU - RTX 3090
CPU - i9 10900k
RAM - 64GB 3000MHz

@@GaseousStranger Thanks so much!
A little brighter lighting might suit the series more, with a clearer sky. These settings look like they are from Pittsburgh
what roads are u using? is it the vanilla ones?
I’m mostly using this pack - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2252521734
@33:27 Anyone know the name for this garbage truck asset on the workshop?

:O
Can you make another episode of Rochester please
Soon! I want to finish Pittsburgh and then I will be back in Rochester for more builds :)
Ah Øk thats fine!
🤩🤩🤩✴✴
Insane
can i ask how many frames you get whilst playing?
I slow the game simulation down to 15% to achieve around 45-60 fps in this save
