"Puddington" for that European suburb, because it's a "Vanilla" build! You inspire me with your builds. I always opt for the densest grid for efficiency. So all my cities are just... the same. I need to step out of my comfort zone and try out suburbs too.
Great suggestion! Thank you, and nice to hear you can find some inspo from the builds!
The area with the 1x1 houses is gonna be super dark, I'd put nature reserve lights dotted here and there around that neighbourhood. Love the town center, the big park separating homes from the busy commercial area!
Yes very true, could do with some lights!
Really happy to see some different style of area, you mostly nailed the European vibe! The football club hits the nail on the head for European suburbia, same with the windy culdesac. The high density towers fit perfectly! I would have loved to see a few low density commercial here and there, in my home town there's always small shops in and around the houses. Same with smaller dirt paths through the blocks, these sheer blocks of single family homrs with little walkability feel more American to me.
As you mentioned, a bus line that feeds into the train station would be very European suburbia. The embanked rail line looks so good, perfectly fits the small town vibe. For the name: "Sweetharbour or Candy Harbour". Once the ferry's and other things are in it will fit nicely and I think this type of name is very European.
For the waterfront, a pedestrian area along the Quay could be really cute. And then in there, a small amusement park type area would fit very well. Lots of small European towns have these seasonal fairs with some caroussels and other smaller attractions. Feels like it would fit the vibe and draw some tourists!
Love the town centre design! Sometimes i find these builds more satisfying than the big ambitious builds.
"Dude on a horse status" made me laugh lol
This suburb turned our very nice! Loved the "dude on the horse" lol
😂
Not only can you cheese Parklife, you can cheese walking tours at the same time in and out the gates to see everything round the park and in the park alternating. With some careful placement, you can get the route attractiveness up into the 1000s.
Rail embankments look so much better in that context than anything else would've.
I just built a radio transmitting station in the manner of Rugby, Woofferton, or Skelton. I did a day trip round one in the 80s as a kid. There was one building in particular that looked right for the transmitter housing, but I couldn't find it while I was looking for it. Rugby's antennae have been demolished now, and Skelton's shortened. I had to cut the number of antennae down due to space constraints. Some of these had 12 of them! I'll just say it was after the cutbacks began.
Edit: it was the Botanical Museum I was thinking of though it's bigger than I remember. It has a sort of Battersea power station without the stacks look to it. It was in the Parks and Plazas CCP section and I was looking in the Unique Buildings.
the nicely level vanilla train like you built is so satisfying to look at!
I was skeptical about that little "run down" area with the single-unit housing but it turned out brilliantly! Like many of the guys already commented, the train line was very satisfying to watch! Enjoyable little build today!
As a console player, your tricks to get the most out of vanilla zoned assets are amazing. Using the 1x1 residential to make that cute little neighborhood is something I would have never thought of. I’ve tried to build some smaller “cottage towns/areas” in the past, but they never felt right, because everything was too big. I always forget about the smaller 1x1 assets. Your detailing is beautiful as well, very inspiring and motivating. I’m binge watching the whole series to get caught up, this is hands down one of the best City Skylines build series I’ve ever watched.
Ahh thank you so much! Very kind words and glad it can provide some inspiration!
Love your 1x1 euro suburb little section. Going to steal that idea and expand it by x100 for my fishing/logging town.
The way that train line stayed level as you drew it out is so satisfying 😂 This is such a cute little town!
Haha thank you, it was a stroke of luck! 😂
On the train they say "Next stop: Game Stop"😃
06:00 before deciding how to extend the local road, you might want to adjust the highway. Once the bridge is (significantly) raised the local road might cross UNDER it...
Looking forward to seeing what you make of the slope towards the river
Yep could definitely go under! We’ll do the highway rework soon and find out!
Few Delicious! You almost need a parking lot next to the Game Stop! 🤣
that looks good! For a name how about Candy grove?
A ponerme al día! Llevo más de un mes sin ver sus videos, temas de trabajo por fuera de mi ciudad… Excelente como siempre!…
What a lovely little addition
Love the little area of 1x1 houses so cute. Great build as usual
Yay for trains!! Those hotels & retreats parks are such a good addition to the game. Maybe for the elementary school a goal post from the props that came with Bad Peanuts’ pack would be cool
Oo yes that would be cute, thanks Ben!
I chuckled at the "dude on a horse" line... Instead of the current name, Holly Square, how about we go for Hilly Rectangle, to better reflect the area?? 😆
Haha! Love that, thanks Dave!
I love the pines outside the library next to the train station. Maybe the area could be called Twin Pines??
Your videos are such an inspiration to me to bring more detailing to my cities. I used to not focus on decorating in Cities Skylines, but now I really enjoy doing that. =)
super build Few - as always - hope you are well!
Thank ER! Yes all good here! Hope you are well 😄
Absolutely adore the new town.
Finally caught up again!
While it's great to see your abilities in the base game, at least with modded I had an excuse as to why you are so much better than me, now I have nowhere to hide!
I'll blame it on console... 😂
That rail infrastructure just wow! I really really love it! Amazing work can’t get any better!
Thanks S_K!
looks AMAZING as always!
Those i x 1 houses are so cute! Love the new neighborhood!
That was me on the CS2-train!
Love the town centre and the train line! Have you seen the embanked train lines of the Japanese scenic routes? Those are breathtaking if you need inspiration!
Ooo I'll have a look! Thank you!
nice city ,nice details you add ,you have lots of patience to do this . 👍👍👍👍
I like to put fire near medical centers. I find in the Midwest a lot of fire stations are near hospitals and or medical clinics. Police are normally located downtown.
It's usually the opposite in my country, we have police and fire departments closeby while public and private hospitals act as trauma/emergency response centres.
love your videos! please for more :D
Master planner at work!
Holy crap! It's Jesus! Look at 36:10. He's walking across the pond! 😮
Looks awesome another great episode love the trains keep up the great work
The thumbnails look like oe, but great content and great city! Keep going 👍
Love your builds, but I giggled at the idea of a train station next to a library.
Shhhh quiet - it's a library. Or at least don't be louder than the intermittent trains roaring through the station next door.
How about Bourbonne? Bourbon vanilla is one of the most famous and Bourbonne sounds like a Belgian village.
Nice suggestion! Thanks Eric!
How often will you be uploading this vanilla series? I've been going into withdrawal symptoms waiting for this episode. Keep up the amazing work.
It's working out about one a week. Which is fair, considering planning the build - what works and what doesn't. Then the actual build, and the editing/music etc. Having created Cities skylines content previously, I know first hand creating this type of content including editing is quite time consuming. Plus, she has another series running alongside this vanilla one.
@foxtrotalphazulu6418 One a week is more than enough. Will it always be on a Tuesday or just whenever FewCandy can??
Yes Fewnilla is once per week on a Mon or Tues depending on when I can get it done by! And Solitude is Thurs/Fri/Sat once per week, again schedule dependent!
It’s unfortunate but CS2 doesn’t look like they have touched or improved the K-12 education to make it more realistic. We should have School Districts in this game.
Most US “areas” have a school district which comprises of multiple different things that make up this school district. Typically, that school district is ties to 1 high school. As the student capacity increases they don’t build more and more high schools within that area they expand upon the current high school. What you will see way more of is elementary schools.
One big missed opportunity are “school zones” on your road ways and school bus routes. All of which have a huge impact on traffic. Would love to see a long line of cars and school buses in the mornings and afternoons when school is in session. Would also be nice to be able to set up a school bus route that is specific to the school. Especially for bringing inner city kids out to the county schools.
These are, in my opinion, things that could be very easily added to the game to make the education system seem a bit more realistic.
I like the build of course...the name for that town I like "Tilbury" it is a name of a town in Essex county...where Hashtag United is located.
Thanks Franklin!
And there is also a massive dockyard there too!
I love how 98 percent of players are OCD like me and can not stand it if things are not lined up 100 percent 😂
❤
Looking forward to getting stuck into this video
Stable genius....
Much prefer vanilla builds. Maybe it's that console in me 😂😂😂
FC, the way you did the dirt road is how I mimic UK builds 1x1 and 2x2 only ❤
A little bit late to the party, but the new service area's name could've been "Poo poo, power and polymers".
How about a large lake far up the river and a hydro dam
i say name the town "Dudonahors" 😂
Which dlc do you get that comes with the parking lots?
👍
❤❤
Very beauty sub urb..
i kind of feel bad, but i put a dislike for saying the word 'soccer'
❤
