    I’ve Always loved the performance of tubes compared to square enclosures. Tubes can be made very light due to the nature of the round shape itself very hard to stretch and compress. With a common squared enclosure you would need lots of bracing and even so, sometimes there’s a little bit of flex going on. Of course you can have a very solid squared enclosure for SPL the damn thing will be so heavy it will be pretty much the weight of the vehicle itself to avoid issues. Tubes are solid. Good example is carbon nanotubes used in science.

      you get more amperage out of the less caps you have in series... he plans on overcharging them to make up his voltage i guess. guess he doesnt care if they fail long term from the overcharging .

    • @charliefrancis6438
      @charliefrancis6438 5 років тому

      From what I understand you will get more amperage for a longer time if you start with a higher voltage on these super caps because when you drop the voltage on the caps ,say 2.7 down to 2 , they still have more than 60% of there power left , therefore if you have 5 in series your down to 10 volts and you still have a lot of juice left in the caps , I think you will get more power by having 6 in series and charging to 16 volts . Unless he competing in a voltage limited class I see no good reason for 5,thanks for you reply

    OK now ive got a ? on the caps end of things, ive always just added more batteries ive seen alot of caps never tried them as there is so much negatives about them honestly ive heard more negatives about caps then anything. Whats the deal with caps? Personally i cant say anything about them as ive never owned caps before tho lol they do look better price wise then buying battery after battery.

      Caps are great for burps. Way better than batteries in that scenario. Batteries are better for long term playing music. In my opinion a mix of the two is ideal for every setup.

      @@UnofficialAudio This is part the reason I'm watching this series. Caps have been getting a bad rep for no reason. They have a legit use and it makes me happy to see you using them like this.

      I've been using caps for years. They're fine as long as you use them properly. If you don't know what you're doing things can go bad fast.

      Caps got a bad rep because 1 farad does nothing. Maybe some voltage smoothing, might reduce headlight dimming, but compare 3 old 1 farad caps to a single AGM totalling the same cost, and the AGM is 100x better. But, technology has progressed, and 500 farad competes with an AGM no problem for current delivery, though is smaller and lighter. Energy storage still needs to catch up, right now caps can store about 10% of the power of an equivalent size AGM or lithium. For burps though they're second to none.

      @@UnofficialAudio AAhh ok because I know they are designed to charge and discharge fast, makes sense to use them in the case for burping a setup as you only need shit loads of power on big setup's for a few secs. So in another words batteries for long playing times and caps for burping to assist batteries. I got it now. Its like nos for a motor gives a short bust of power to the motor. Thank you for clearing that up ive always been up in the air about caps. Never really seen them on setups well really any setup, main reason i asked is because of my new amp i got i know im short on the battery end SPECIALLY when i burp my setup, i should be using at min 6 batteries with my amp tho im only running 3 ya it sucks lol. Thank you for the response.
