Now you can kill the trud and get a Porsche just by going to the crane and lowering the conex. The key still drops. You can call Jackie 5 times during the whole game telling him different thing until V say this will be my last call.
At the columbarium. There is no marker for Evelin Parker. Even after Judy says she made one there for her. But a few of the tiger claw bosses will get markers as you kill them through the game.
Mitch does send you a text but it rolls off screen fast, always comes durring a fire fight, and is in the text messages about 12 to 24 hours after riders of the storm.
When you talk about it being worth doing the NCPD hustles and Assaults in Progress etc - just wanted to add that I found them to be boring UNTIL I started reading the shards that can be found at almost every location. So many interesting stories, call backs, connected stories. Very worth stopping and reading them - makes the world feel that much more rich.
That’s all lot of games. You miss depth by just running through things. By stopping to “smell the roses” so much more is added to the game lore wise. Adds weight
25:15 There's actually a total of 4 Encounters in regards to Anna Hamill, that is assuming you can persuade her to let go of the Investigation in her Mission: 1. The NCPD Encounter in your Video 2. The Mission where you have to tell her to let go 3. Visit the place a day or so later, and check the Garbage bags right side downstairs when entering the Market area. 4. Enter your Car and listen to the Radio (will pop up by itself)
Me too! There are whole subplots that I completely missed the first time I played. I was just doing the NCPD hustles becuase I’m a completionist and they were on my map. The first time I realized that there were recurring characters on those shards and they related to the gigs, I was blown away. There were people in the city and they were doing things independent of the main character of the story. The Romeo and Juliette scenario with the kids in rival gangs was my favorite. Jotaro’s human trafficking made me mad. All of the gigs and the hustles in El Capitan’s area fleshed out how the corporations and the gangs have a symbiotic relationship in a bad way. The hustles in the badlands made me hate Militec and also think about the scare tactics used by our government to obtain political will and most, importantly, money.
Also, I just realized this: if you are playing as Johnny and you exit the game and then come back, the usual loading screen with the dialogue will show but this time you can hear a guitar note for a split second and then the text colors change from red and light blue to yellow and purple. Pretty nice touch!
I swear Corpo has the be the canon backstory because it makes so much sense. You work for the company that ends up being the antagonist in the game. The same company Johnny tired to take down. Plus it's the only one that implies you knew Jackie longer and making his death that much sadder.
The quest names only become songs AFTER The Heist. This references that Johnny is a rocker, and a big music fan, and all the quests are named by him, and I'm pretty sure that the Job Descriptions are also his thoughts. This also means, that the quest "Gas Gas Gas" is named after the Manuel song "Gas Gas Gas" which was popularized by the anime "Initial D". This implies that Johnny listened to Eurobeat. Furthermore, the Mizutani Shion can spawn in white and a black hood, which is VERY similar to the classic Toyota AE86 from Initial D.
I never watched Initial D. Never even heard of it before people started talking about Gas Gas Gas. Must have a strong and passionate following, as nobody points out any of the other songs.
@@StuGamePlus Maybe it's just because I'm 38 and loved classic rock growing up as a kid with a mom who blasted music all day - but I've noticed sooo many music references in the quest names, most of it being pretty set in stone rock-culture references
In the dlc there is a quest called Lucretia my reflection which is a reference to the sisters of mercy a goth rock group/rock group He also “kinda” shares similar views to Johnny when it comes to government and corporations
1:19:00 fun fact about 156 - it’s quite likely that Ciri wrote that graffiti herself while hopping between worlds. She says to Geralt on the Isle of Mists that one of the worlds she visited was one she where “people had metal in their heads” and “everyone had a personal flying ship.”
Yeah, everyone having a personal flying ship didn't quite pan out. It's a pretty generic future city reference tbh and I'm still on the fence as we also see her on the magazine for TW3 in your drawer. So either she hopped out of a game dimension into a human one, or it's a super fan.
@@StuGamePlus Maybe a Netrunner met her in Night City, then wrote a book series of her adventures with Geralt adapted into game form shortly before the V story begins. Or maybe not.
He also didn't fully read the graffiti, (the subtitle on the bottom has it) it actually says cirilla, cintra rulez. Cintra is the country the was ruled by ciri's relatives (her grandmother) and was invaded by her father (emhyr). She's also technically queen of that country
I had no idea on the Jackie ones. I returned Jackie to his family every time as it was the right thing to do. It's cool that they thought about the complications of it.
@@86wezza88 here’s an Easter egg for you. In Vs bathroom if you go to toilet you’ll see 3 sea shells by the toilet seat and no toilet paper. It’s a reference to the Sylvester Stallone movie Demolition Man. Ppl laugh at him when he asked for toilet paper and didn’t know what the three seashells were.
I was amazed when I found out in my 2nd playthrough that choosing different destinations for Delamain in the prologue actually changes the story (Mama Welles & Misty).
Btw you can still get johnnys car even if you kill the guy. You just have to walk to the control center of the straddle carrier (massive orange hauler that moves containers) that’s in front of the ship there’s a small red button and when you press it, it will lower the container and inside you can still get johnnys car
@Kole He didn't say it verbally. It was on-screen text saying it was still obtainable if you did kill the guy. What @Game Bred said was a quick and useful hint at getting the Porsh.
Not sure if already mentioned by one of you, but in the Columbarium you can find the name Nick Ford. He was a massive fan who passed away and his brother made a petition for CDPR to make him into an NPC. They didn’t do this, but they memorialised his name instead. Pretty cool.
Oh that's really nice that they did that, I think it was the right choice too as the other way (making an NPC) could have backfired with the early bugs and glitches that were occurring.
I think the kid using the remote control for Razor could also be a callout to Real Steel, where the kid and dad were controlling a robotic boxer via remote control
I wanna say, Maximum Mike is a lore character and an accomplished author in the lore. He’s technically the one who writes a catalogue source books for both cyberpunk 2013 and cyberpunk 2020
Couple things about the takemura/hideshi scene: 1. you can still get it if you ride with him, just let him walk ahead of you after you exit his van. 2. if you have high enough cool (10? 12? i forget) you can introduce him as hideshi when you talk to wakako immediately after the scene you showed
Something I noticed yesterday (26th September 2022): Talking with Takamura it is said that birds and other animals all died, cats last. Later on the quest to get T to talk with Hanako, near the snipers, I found a bird on one railing. It moved a little bit otherwise just a small weird thing.
It's the same one you see in one of the endings (won't spoil - just in case) A swallow I believe. And yes, very rare and special things considering they were all supposedly exterminated
I was confused because at several points I could very clearly hear seagulls, and by the first time I had recently seen the news reports about the avian extermination act. I just figured it was them missing stuff because so much of the development was rushed. gotta have gull noises in pacifica, otherwise how would you know you're by the ocean?
voodoo boys have live fresh chickens. and there are cats about, like the one behind Misty's shop. And that Corpo Sergei wanted in the trunk had a little brown dog, why is why I let him live.
3:40 I actually had occasion to call my own phone some months after my wife passed away and was shocked to hear her voice for the voice mail recording. I didn't think there was any recording of her voice, and for our regular answering machine we were just using the default message (the voice mail was only used when the line was busy when someone called). To say I was shocked would be a massive understatement.
Something I've never seen anyone reference yet in any Easter egg video is how *spoiler* Judy's end quest where you go diving is an actual real event that happened. Take a look at the story of Dryweryn, it's a place in North Wales and sounds awfully familiar to how Judy describes what happened to where she grew up. Of course, it's not ever taught in English medium schools and the government would just rather everyone forgot about it, but it's still a major bone of contention for those interested in the idea of an independent Wales.
I'd imagine their inclusion of this came from the Welsh influence on the Witcher stories by Zapkowski. The Elven language in the books is Welsh adjacent and many of the significant names used for the characters are genuine Welsh names. Apparently Zapkowski loves Welsh as a language and the CDPR devs worked with him very closely when developing the Witcher games and studied a lot of Welsh culture and mythology, great to see they haven't just left it in that one series; this is a fantastic nod
That is an awesome reference. Now you mention it, I remember learning about this when I was younger, like you say I don't think it was in school though. I did a portion of my schooling in the UK and the rest in Ireland. Don't *think* it was on the curriculum.
Also: Of course "Don't fear the Reaper" is an old song by the Blue Oyster cult. It's one of the many many song names for quests. Actually learned the intro and main riff because of that mission. I also learned the main riff from one of the Samurai songs, Archangel I believe. Fun to play.
It brings me a great deal of solace, that in 200-300 years, when humanity and civilization are likely unrecognizable to us, the rock songs and punk songs that made it big from the 60's to now, will all be regarded as "classics" like mozart and Bach are to us now
1:24:30 Fun fact: this is also true for some of the quests in the Spanish dubbed version, although it uses popular songs in spanish. For example, the mission in which you go search for evelyn is called “Devuélveme a mi chica”, which is the title of an extremely popular song by the group Hombres G.
54:00 - The "James Reddington" mentioned in the conversation shard is likely a reference to the TV show The Blacklist. Actor James Spader plays a character named Raymond Reddington. 1:08:50 - Judy's "Baby Cthulhu" tattoo is almost certainly a Mind Flayer from Dungeons & Dragons.
@@StuGamePlus Btw the room number 1237 appears in a few different places. It's the motel room that you rescue Hwangbo from, a gig for Wakako. There's another place where that number comes up I can't recall it right now.
41:13 There is another John Wick one we have all seen but maybe never realized. When you acquire most any gun you do a quick check of the weapon. On many of the hand guns V will go into the C.A.R. position for just a moment to check the sight. The C.A.R. position is a not commonly used and unusual looking way of holding a handgun at an angle and very close to your face. When it is used It's used in close quarter combat. It's also the way John Wick holds his gun in all close quarter combat of all 3 movies. Keanu does the position flawlessly BTW. When seen in other places it's often replicated badly because it "looks cool". I have only seen the animation when acquiring a new handgun and taking it out for the first time.
Yes! Good eye!. They also have what I believe has come to be known - or at least popularized by JW, "The Wick Flick" on certain weapons. That reminds me, I really need to sit down and binge the trilogy again. Superb stuff.
One of my favorite things about this game is how you can hear " news" on the radio station about things happening in world and then later on in the game you get to participate in a job that has to do with that. I was like wow.. this is awesome most of the time games have " new" that is just there to be filler for environment purposes but this make the game just...more.
100% agree. The interlacing of quests and the world are awesome. People complain about the main story being short, but it's so very wide with all the connected quests and in-world events that aren't just random. If you blitz the main quest you're gonna miss all this awesomeness. It almost needs to be lived.
Literally 100 hours into my current playthrough and all the news does is talk about a crashed Khang Tao bird 24/7 it's not realistic at all lol, GTA 4 had a better News system keeping track of the story
I love all the hidden gems in this game. Getting the knock-off Scorpion action figure from Mitch made me smile so wide my face hurt. Mortal Kombat was such a big part of my childhood. Even incorporated my favorite Ninja (Noob Saibot) into my email that I still have and use today.
@@StuGamePlus Agreed wholeheartedly, choom. So keen to dive into the DLC when it's out and go hunting! Super excited to see what you uncover going forward.
41:37 - The robots playing cards are likely a reference to the Spring Robots from Futurama S01E06 where Fry is being kept awake by two robots playing cards next door at the start of the episode.
I have amassed a wealth of fun knowledge over the 4 and a half decades I've been around! Happy to put it to good use and share it, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for letting me entertain you ☺️
Don't know if someone already mentioned this, but "triple witching hour" (23:40 in your video) is a term from financial markets. It happens four times per year, and it refers to the simultaneous expiration of three different types of securities. It can lead to increased market volatility on those days.
just discovered this video and i'm so glad i did, i've played cyberpunk for more than 100 hours and still managed to miss some of these... what an amazing game..
Awesome list of things to find about Night City. There were quite a number of them I missed. Though one I found at the Columbarium that apparently escaped your notice ... if I remember it right .. you go in the centre and strait back as far as you can and on the wall your walking towards is a memorial to none other than "Syd Mead - Builder of worlds" he was an industrial designer, futurist and visual concept artist who influenced a large number of people in the movie industry, including George Lucas and Steven Spielberg to name just a few.
18:21 The little girl can be found again. There is a fixer quest, from dakota iirc, in the badlands where you have to free a guy from militech. In the room where some captives are held, theres that girl in a corner. You can't talk to her but at least you can scan here to see her name.
First time through I noticed that Johnny moves the stool at 1:00:15 but once you stop malfunctioning the stool is back in the original spot! Nice touch
One more detail about making Goro do that "Better buckle up" line is that you can later see small posters of Hideshi Hino. You can interact with it to get C's thoughts on it
I like how it’s habit for you to go on the right side of vehicles due to how vehicles differ in manufacturing when it comes to the U.S. just a thought I found kinda funny when catching it
😁 I love that you noticed that! Yes, even virtually, after 25 years driving right handed vehicles it is a very hard habit to break. It makes for a slow getaway though.
1:18:10 The reason they added that easter egg is that they messed up A.I Pathing so they endlessly run into that wall. It was fixed obviously but they keep the memory.
Skippy has unique quotes based on V's gender. If you're playing as a female V, Skippy may say something along the lines of: "Fun fact, the majority of murders are committed by men. In other words, you go, girl!"
Thanks for your videos! I'm replaying Cyberpunk currently and you inspired me to look more closely for hints and easter eggs. I even found one myself :D Roger Wang, owner of the clinic in Kabuki (the one you clear for him in Shark in the water gig), when asked if he told the police he's being blackmailed said something along the lines of "What did police tell me to tell him? Oh yes! "Stop, you're breaking the law'", which for me is a clear Oblivion reference because that's how guards speak there. Very little one but gave me a lot of joy, so thanks again for inspiration to look for things like that :)
11:58 "Where is my mind" is a song recorded by the Alternative group "The Pixies" and has been used in multiple film/tv shows where there is a psychological aspect to the plot. The most notable being the 1999 film "Fight club", and again later in "Sucker punch".
I remember it from Fight Club, I had a friend who was a big Pixies fan and he was pretty hyped about their music being in the movie. That is some ending, some film, has to be in my top 100! You know I think this is worth including in a future list because the Arasaka ending actually mirrors the ending of FC. In both cases the second personality has been removed leaving the protagonist alive but pretty messed up. They didn't choose their song names at random did they? the amount of thought that has gone into this game is on another level.
@@StuGamePlus You guys might also enjoy NeverKnowsBest's Cyberpunk Review where he uses a nice Synth version of that song in his intro/basically his title track. ua-cam.com/video/zaKzRChgCSA/v-deo.html
I believe the gig with the human trafficking was a reference to Daredevil. Because in its first season an almost exact scenario of that PD scanner gig happened in it.
One great reference i think most miss (and may not exist) is when Elizabeth Peralez is talking about the roses at her wedding. She speficially says they are "Blue roses". Blue Rose is a secret task force in the show Twin Peaks studying paranormal activity in the area of Twin Peaks, maybe further hinting at the aliens from Alpha Centuri
On no way, that is a pretty niche reference! Wow. I've not seen Twin Peaks in decades and can't say I remember it too well so I'd never have spotted this. Thanks for letting me know.
@ 43:50 The Easter egg goes both ways! In Death Stranding it eludes that all worlds are kind of tethered together and realities can overlap in some places. There is a quest you get from an AI that you have to keep unlocking its forgotten memories by completing tasks - and if you know both games you know its Jackie Welles' Engram that made it to that world. Pretty neat.
A great marketing technique from the point of video of Kojima. "Hey put an item from our world in yours - I know yours doesn't but our world-building says there are multiple dimensions." Meanwhile, in Days Gone and Cyberpunk, tumbleweed rolls by, uh yeah these are just things...
I'm still finding stuff I missed just doing different playthroughs, just saw the scene with Guro when your scoping out industrial park on top of the building, the whole scene was refreshing actually hearing his backstory and having a discussion with him
@@StuGamePlus oh yeah not really intrigue it's basically a bit of background on the character I guess it helps the mission a little tells you were everything is
Oh, I just remembered an another little fun fact. In the Nomad prologue, when you walk in the border office, just in front of the receptionist, there is a huge digital map on the wall of the in game continent. Night City is marked there too.
It's actually pretty fun because most of those things I discovered in one run by simple curiosity. You take your time and game is about to surprise you many times.
Good point, and one of the few that is not named after a song. I've not seen the movie but I remember my parents watching the TV series that the film was based on in the early 80s. I really should watch it!
Finally got through to the end of the video! Tried to go to every spot I could out in the open world and in the missions that I hadn't done yet. Had to load a save from a while ago so I can get the Suicide Run ending. I really appreciate all of the interesting spots around Night City. Great job!
I had the exact same question about the child with the controller lol… I also thought the same thing, about maybe them being the one to control the boxer.
I also hope the Melissa Rory thing gets expanded on, I'd like it if in future dlc they make it so there's a maxtac side quest/story where you join them then attend a few special attacks maybe even a romance option for her and a new ending added where you get help from maxtac to get into arasaka
I've just gotten a new rig so decided to replay CP2077. I know compared to what they promised this game is just a shadow but if you just look at it in isolation it is an incredible game. There are just stories, details and references everywhere 🙂 This video must have taken you a long time to make so well done for that. This will actually be my third play through now, I'm getting near the end and I've still missed a tonne of these. Next time I play through I'll dig this video out 🙂👍
Exactly my thoughts on the game. It's like being promised steak but given ice-cream, ice-cream may not be steak, but it's still ice-cream! We need to forget about it not being steak for a second and see that it is Michelin star ice-cream. I know that analagy lacks nuance but at the end of the day, they even offered refunds for the ice-cream, and once they'd picked many of the bugs out of it and sprinkled on a bit of gold leaf it is pretty darned good gelato! Also I'm glad you enjoyed the video! It did take me a bit of time all told yeah, but totally worth it.
This is why I'm really glad that I wasn't subscribed to any hype and avoided it until I knew it was in a more refined state. Honestly why I avoid hype for most things altogether.
@17:50 when you pan over to the beam to talk about Deckard holding on, you can see it hidden partly by the minimap, but there's an LED on the wall that says "LIKE TEARS..."
Thanks for the video! That was massive work you've done! Didn't hear you mentioning this: Joutaro Shoujo, the man who is killed by us in the gig by Regina (if I'm not mistaken), available early in the game, actually plays a huge part in Night City, there are multiple assaults (& other blue quests) where we can read the shards and come to know that those people were working for him, delivering people or substances to him, there is also at least one assault gig where we can learn about a few people who tried to escape.
You're welcome, and thanks! I've mentioned this in other videos as it's more so part of how the story is cleverly intertwined than an easter egg. Still it might be worth including it specifically, as a thing you missed because it's something missed if people blitz through it.
#34 is not a picture of Mike Pondsmith. What youre seeing is a photo of Rogue, Johnny Silverhand and Morgan Blackhand. Morgan was Mike Pondsmiths personal NPC from when he would run Cyberpunk as a GM. So it makes perfect sense that Mike would be the physical likeness avatar for Morgan.
Good additional fact! It's not not a picture of Mike though, by your own description. It may be MB but they could have made him look like the artwork from the sourcebook, instead they made him look like Mike. Therefore it's Mike.
Mike Pondsmith's self-insert character is Maximum Mike in the pen & paper RPG and in the video game. Maximum Mike is also a radio host in-game, as well.
35:29 could also be another Real Steel reference-part of Atom’s gimmick is dancing with Max before he steps up to fight, and the fact that the robot is found in a watery ditch mirrors where Atom is first found.
For the fallout vault 101 one, the name Albert Cole is derived from the preset character from Fallout (1997) and most likely canon name for the original Vault Dweller from vault 13
Fun fact: Actually the Akira's bike reference is a triple reference, obviously the akira reference, the 2nd one is about the model of the bike is "kusanagi" that is a reference to the protagonist of ghost in the shell "motoko kusanagi" and the 3rd one is that the actual frame of the bike is from the bike that is shown on the anime "ghost in the shell arise" and is driven by motoko kusanagi, being a reference itself from akira's bike, so it's a triple reference bike based on a reference bike too.
Yah I beat it when it first came out and now doing a new play as a Corp Net runner, my first run was a Street Samaria that was all brute force, this one is going to be a little cyber ninja.
For anyone that has not found it. You can find a continuation to the John Wick reference if you choose not to deliver the car Sergey gives you. You can find Sergey in an ally behind the Dickey Twister club.
The shooting range in Kabuki was there, and you could use it from the beginning BUT once you start shooting for some reason people over the store would start running, as if there was a street shooting happening, even when there were already people in there practicing.
Thanks for taking the time, researching and figuring it out alongside others, Great video, I'm jumping back in for a re-roll in couple days and keen to find these new things you've pointed out.
I feel like the Brick memorial might be a reference to Brick in Anchorman 2 since he was supposedly dead but then proceeded to speak his own eulogy lmao.
The kid from the boxing match has been changed since release, they used to talk to V before the fight if you had killed the 6th Street fighter from the earlier fights. They used to tell you a sob story about how they had no money since you killed their dad and asked you for a payment (it might have been the winning purse I forget now), then after the match they mocked you. They took out the first interaction and changed the stance of the model to kid with remote control instead of just kid, maybe to add to the theory Razor is a robot or maybe they missed something when they tried to cut the interaction out for some reason?
from what I knew Caliburn and Excalibur are translations of the same sword that is sometimes referred to as the stone sometimes lady of the lake but in the lady of the lake it replaces a broken sword Clarent which is the one drawn from the Anvil and sometimes confused with drawing the sword from the stone
Shown in #161 Excalibur, written where the sword is it says “Kilroy was here”. That’s a WWII reference usually accompanied by a face peaking over a wall with a large nose. Cool part of history
Johnny Mnemonic is one of my favorite movies series. I've always loved Cyberpunk style stories. Used to play the Shadowrun RPG back in High School a lot.
I never got into Shadowrun (RPG or CRPG) but I've always heard good things, and wish I'd had the time to. Cyberpunk is a great sub-genre of sci-fi, I love it.
**EDITS/UPDATES** -Thumbnail Jacket: cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Tenka_Mus%C5%8D_combat_motorcycle_jacket -Re V passing out. I need to correct myself. You do pass out completely with Judy too, it's just in Pyramid Song. -"Here's Johnny" might more accurately be a reference to Johnny Carson, who the shining was referencing. -The one I was wondering if it could be Paul from Deus Ex is apparently a streamer called "Pow3R". The main guy in that one is still Adam Jenson.
What do you mean the cat is on the crate above the water…? It’s ways underwater for me. Not to comment again, but Judy’s faint scene is underwater tbh. V almost drowns and Judy saves you.
Great work. Did you mention you can get Jackie's matching pistols? And On the roof with "Roy Batty" turn around, on the wall behind him is written "like tears in the rain" in paint. Also Okami. In a couple of cars there is the wolf head on the dash. Batty Hotel sign is also the same font as Blade runner.
@@iandestructible1682 I've got the pistols in my iconic weapons video. But I'll mention them in my next video due to them being an easter egg in themselves. As for the rest. I missed the graffiti and didn't cop the blade runner font. SHAME! Will cover those in the next one too. :D Thanks
Skippy singing Rihanna was because an exchange of tweets between her and a cdpr community manager. The harry Potter reference it's because in the first version of the game, there was a bug that made all the npcs around walking towards that wall
Idk if it was brought up, but if you’re Johnny, and you activate photo mode, there’s 1 or 2 poses you can do as Johnny that are references to things, you can do the “you’re breathtaking” pose, and I think one more 👍
1:24:22 I have another one. I learned it from other people & not many people have heard about this. It's a theory about the mission "Op.55 No.1". More specifically, it's about why CDPR named the last mission of this mission "Op.55 No.1". The song starts with a C5(musical note). If C5 means the inevitable ending for V, the song "Op.55 No.1" basically describes how V has experienced throughout the story. (especially the devil ending) No matter how hard V tried to get the chip out of the brain and how many times V had the chance to make it, V failed. (Judy, Panam, Goro) There's no way out, just like the song "Op.55 No.1" always ends with C5. (Listen to the song yourself, and you might know what I'm talking about) 57:23 BTW the main character of an upcoming Netflix show, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, David, has become a night city legend. You can order a David Martinez in Afterlife. The city always wins.😭
21:33 I could spend all day admiring Purple Force :) I love her spider eyes :) 1:08:09 He just has the same drinking problem that Ted Striker does.. it appears to be some form of PTSD 1:18:05 Its actually a double easteregg. back in launch, npcs would make their turn there and phase in to the wall. so they were making fun of their own bug with this HP ref :) 1:33:04 A cheeky reference to Johnny Mnemonic is the Ads for Revere Courier Services in game. ua-cam.com/video/0KxRDJ8tDUg/v-deo.html First 80gb Free of charge :p edit: Oh well you caught it 1:37:50 that's the HK Slap. a well known maneuver for the MP5 line of weapons from H&K
Also the mission name "where is my mind" is a reference to the pixies song of the same title that plays at the ending of fight club . Very clever way to refer to the flick
Yup. Especially as it speaks to the duality of the mind. And in the (Spoiler for those not seen it) end of FC, he gets rid of Tyler Durdan in a similar kind of way that we get rid of Johnny (albeit by very different means). I really should mention that as a stand out song title. Although there are some other clever ones too, like Space Oddity, involving bringing something down from orbit and many more. But I agree, this one is especially clever.
As physically beautiful as Pan Am is, I found her to be so temperamental that she got really annoying, blowing her stack all the time. A rage monster constantly berating her friends and almost always angry. I constantly wished for dialogue options that might express my irl feelings so when the chance came I took it. I just couldn’t wait to be rid of her and her unreasonable anger. Sorry not sorry 🤓
Oh yeah she is petulant. Not an appealing trait. I really noticed it on my later playthroughs when I wasn't in simp mode, besotted and blinded by her assets.
@@StuGamePlus I admit that the first couple of hours after meeting her I was a big fan. But then I finally continued the conversation and it was downhill after that. We’ll always have that carpark though and even now the sight of a broken down car with its bonnet up makes my heart skip a beat.
@@StuGamePlus Ahur-hur-hur...you said 'assets'. 😆 I'm playing a female Nomad on my first whole 1.6 game, and I'm going to ditch Panam and get the car. But does this mean the Aldecaldo ending is unavailable? Or do the Aldecaldos still love you?
29:49 - That fight poster always made me think of Primal Rage, a fighting game filled with monsters. The red and blue colors, plus the stripes on blue and the 'scales' on red. But I'm probably wrong.
Super appreciate the reference to the original CP2077 trailer, especially since it's named after Bullets, the track used in the trailer that got stuck in my head for like months after seeing it.
The picture with Rogue and Johnny is with Morgan Blackhand. Blackhand is Mike Pondsmith's Cyberpunk 2020 character who is also suspected to have been involved with the bombing of Arasaka tower. Oddly enough, he's missing from Johnny's recollection of the events.
Some of the achievements you can get in this game have references. For example if you complete all the gigs and NCPD dispatches in Watson you get an achievement called "It's Elementary" (reference to the phrase "It's elementary, my dear Watson" from Sherlock Holmes). Other achievements I remember are: Daemon in the Shell (a Ghost in the Shell reference), V for Vendetta (self explanatory), and if you collect all of Johnny Silverhand's items (jacket, tank top, pants, shoes, porsche, and his malorian) you get an achievement called "Breathtaking". Changing subject: Have any of you seen the pistol animation where V uses the index finger to see if a bullet is in the chamber? It is called a "one-handed press check" and in one of the John Wick movies there is a scene where he actually does that, it's pretty badass. You can easily find a clip here on youtube.
Pretty sure the reference to the witch sabbath is about the three witches you have to find in the swamp later in Wild Hunt, triple witching day sounds way to similar about them
You picked the wrong moment for the "passing out" section with Judy. You should've picked the moment when V passes out while they're in the underwater town. Fades to black and Judy has to carrying V to the surface.
The platform 69 3/4 easter egg on 1:18:16 was put there because on the original release a lot of npcs would walk straight into the wall and smash their head into it
The one at 26:33 made me literally spit out my coffee! Can't believe I missed that one, but for anyone who's a GTA San Andreas fan, that's just GOLDEN!
Gas Gas Gas is also most likely a reference to Inital D, along wirh that the little girl with controller may be refrence to "Real Steel" which is robot boxing with controller's like that, where the young boy has a line thats much like her "fooled him" line
at 1:17:07 right now, and I just wanted to say that the way you have gone through this is the way you would have a conversation with someone about everything in the game. how you'll say "theres this and this, oh and this might be a thing, what so you think?". It's super engaging an gets my brain thinking instead of just listening the entire time, I love it and it makes for a great longform video - which is amazing considering how its been over an hour of just pointing out easter eggs and cool things. You would think I would be bore do sleepy like that kitty, but no lol. Great vid! Oh, the ship after the kitty clip is one of those hover advertiser things. Not sure what else they do, but they slowly float around. One is above Dogtown now, can't remember if it was there before though. Also, out of all the things The Duke says, I think "Shake it baby" is fully implanted in every gamer brain that turned 12 in the 90s. Being 12 and spamming the interact button to see booby tassels lmfao. My cousin and I had so much fun playing that game and doing stupid shit like that when I lived with him lol. We were raised on beavis and butthead... Its the one show from my youth that I just can't watch anymore because of how terrible it is as an adult, and I love that about it lol
Firstly, thank you for your comment! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. When I'm recording, I feel like I'm talking to you all from the past, like you can already hear me and it's like I'm having a conversation with future viewers, so I'm super happy that this vibe comes through. Always nice to speak to people from my generation who know what it was like to just hang out and chat before the internet changed everything, and as for Bevis & Butthead. Those two goons are burned into my psyche too, I dread the idea of going back and watching it though, I'll keep that hidden behind rose coloured glasses I think! :D Have a great day, and if you're looking for more like this, I have a second 200 things video you might also enjoy and am working on a brand new one which I should have done in the coming weeks. Enjoy!
When you were talking about the twitch streamer in the game who you have to talk to, it reminded me about Monty Python’s The Life Of Brian and how it’s about Christmas and I always watch it this time when all of a sudden you start talking about Monty Python…
The iconic Tech Weapon "Widow Maker" is a reference to the same named character of Overwatch. It has charge-up time just like the OW counterpart, charged shots deal more dmg... deals poison dmg (in OW another ability of widow is a venom mine that deals poison dmg). Even Panam's Sniper is called Overwatch, it's too much of a coincidence.
I'm not sure that this is right, I remember that scene there's a 4-poster bed involved. I should cross reference the names though and if you're right I'll add that to a future video.
@@StuGamePlus It is right cause the guy in the chair is in shadow just like in the movie and the move where the dancing robot does like a semi split and reaches away is the same pose.
really enjoyed this video!! i knew about half of the facts/references but missed the others. overrall it's super interesting to see how much thought the devs put in the references and wolrdbuilding and all the little easter eggs. also: re: some questions in the video: - the cat food, according to a shard (i think?) it's made of tofu and tuna - the weird boob advertisements can also be seen in jig-jig street - there is an actual cerberus (from mass effect) reference in-game. during the sandra dorsett quest where you get her databank back, if you decrypt it, you can talk netrunning with her and she mentions breaking through a ceberus and leviathan (both ME2-3 references) - the cat is also seen before entering vik's clinic for the first time to get the kiroshis installed, probably symbolizing the bad events that happen when v and jackie hit the major leagues. - the name of the car "vato" literally translates to "guy" in mexican spanish slang.
Great catch on the Sandra Dorsett quest, I totally missed the Mass Effect reference there. I'll have to include that in future videos. Nice one! Glad you enjoyed the video :D
Another 200 Things Compilation is finally here: ua-cam.com/video/u6Z8du4RuUo/v-deo.html #cyberpunk2077
13:58 "4" "2" in japanesse pronounced shi-ni, which also means something like "to death" "until death". It's a very forboding little message there.
Mitch does send you a text but it rolls off screen fast, always comes durring a fire fight, and is in the text messages about 12 to 24 hours after riders of the storm.
good for you. first person to mention the easter egg for Children of Men
When you talk about it being worth doing the NCPD hustles and Assaults in Progress etc - just wanted to add that I found them to be boring UNTIL I started reading the shards that can be found at almost every location. So many interesting stories, call backs, connected stories. Very worth stopping and reading them - makes the world feel that much more rich.
The shards are so important in this game.
That’s all lot of games. You miss depth by just running through things. By stopping to “smell the roses” so much more is added to the game lore wise. Adds weight
25:15 There's actually a total of 4 Encounters in regards to Anna Hamill, that is assuming you can persuade her to let go of the Investigation in her Mission:
1. The NCPD Encounter in your Video
2. The Mission where you have to tell her to let go
3. Visit the place a day or so later, and check the Garbage bags right side downstairs when entering the Market area.
4. Enter your Car and listen to the Radio (will pop up by itself)
Same here. I also do table top gaming and there's loads of inspiration in the shards.
Oh that's a really nice Discovery I must check this out! Thank you.
I swear Corpo has the be the canon backstory because it makes so much sense. You work for the company that ends up being the antagonist in the game. The same company Johnny tired to take down. Plus it's the only one that implies you knew Jackie longer and making his death that much sadder.
Tbh the only one that kinda feels outta place for me was the Nomad granted it was the last one I did.
Also it has the most choices
I started off a Corpo rat and she seems most in her element there with her voice
@@bearman9033 My first playthrough was a male nomad with the Aldecaldos ending and that felt really natural for that life path.
Yeah, Corpo makes the most sense but Nomad gets that exclusive beginning car man! 🤣
"Jumpin jack flash" lyrics are most likely what the gas gas gas manuel song is a reference to. So rockerboy referenception lol
@@StuGamePlus Maybe it's just because I'm 38 and loved classic rock growing up as a kid with a mom who blasted music all day - but I've noticed sooo many music references in the quest names, most of it being pretty set in stone rock-culture references
In the dlc there is a quest called Lucretia my reflection which is a reference to the sisters of mercy a goth rock group/rock group
He also “kinda” shares similar views to Johnny when it comes to government and corporations
I also like to party.
@@StuGamePlus the new witcher addon adds a pebble to this basket tho ;)
@@StuGamePlus Maybe a Netrunner met her in Night City, then wrote a book series of her adventures with Geralt adapted into game form shortly before the V story begins. Or maybe not.
@user-ei3sh2ys4o and what is this pebble
He also didn't fully read the graffiti, (the subtitle on the bottom has it) it actually says cirilla, cintra rulez. Cintra is the country the was ruled by ciri's relatives (her grandmother) and was invaded by her father (emhyr). She's also technically queen of that country
I had no idea on the Jackie ones. I returned Jackie to his family every time as it was the right thing to do. It's cool that they thought about the complications of it.
LOL I'm not a Harry Potter fan but love that easter egg.
I sent him to his family and was still able to talk to him after going into koshi
Well it pulls you two ways the first time. You want to SAVE Jackie so you send him to Vik. I get it why people do that.
@@sparrowhawke facts.. cause I missed how to actually get it after fact.. I must of left the room real quick during text.. lol
@@sparrowhawke Look at you being positive on the internet. Good job 😀
Yes you can
@Kole what a bot smh
I recon so!
Agreed
I wanna say, Maximum Mike is a lore character and an accomplished author in the lore. He’s technically the one who writes a catalogue source books for both cyberpunk 2013 and cyberpunk 2020
Awesome!
He is Mike Pondsmith, right?
Couple things about the takemura/hideshi scene: 1. you can still get it if you ride with him, just let him walk ahead of you after you exit his van. 2. if you have high enough cool (10? 12? i forget) you can introduce him as hideshi when you talk to wakako immediately after the scene you showed
Awesome!
Yeah it's honestly one of the funniest moments I had in the game :D
@@ThatMyklthis is facts😂
Something I noticed yesterday (26th September 2022): Talking with Takamura it is said that birds and other animals all died, cats last. Later on the quest to get T to talk with Hanako, near the snipers, I found a bird on one railing. It moved a little bit otherwise just a small weird thing.
It's the same one you see in one of the endings (won't spoil - just in case) A swallow I believe. And yes, very rare and special things considering they were all supposedly exterminated
@@StuGamePlus Huh. A swallow. Could be a reference to Witcher considering that Ciri is called Zirael which means swallow.
I was confused because at several points I could very clearly hear seagulls, and by the first time I had recently seen the news reports about the avian extermination act. I just figured it was them missing stuff because so much of the development was rushed. gotta have gull noises in pacifica, otherwise how would you know you're by the ocean?
There is also definitely a cat on the stairs as you're going down to enter the ripperdoc for the first time.
voodoo boys have live fresh chickens. and there are cats about, like the one behind Misty's shop.
Fuck that's deep man
Something I've never seen anyone reference yet in any Easter egg video is how *spoiler* Judy's end quest where you go diving is an actual real event that happened.
@@MrTomRobsone thing: it's Sapkowski, not "Zapkowski"
Use "S" instead of "Z" and it'll be okay 😉
Also: Of course "Don't fear the Reaper" is an old song by the Blue Oyster cult. It's one of the many many song names for quests. Actually learned the intro and main riff because of that mission. I also learned the main riff from one of the Samurai songs, Archangel I believe. Fun to play.
Sweet! And yeah, you can check out the playlist for all the songs on spotify.
Awesome
54:00 - The "James Reddington" mentioned in the conversation shard is likely a reference to the TV show The Blacklist. Actor James Spader plays a character named Raymond Reddington.
1:08:50 - Judy's "Baby Cthulhu" tattoo is almost certainly a Mind Flayer from Dungeons & Dragons.
Oh good catch on Mind Flayer! This is it 100%
Yep, That's an illithid all right.
I think that animation is for the Lexington ✌🏻
Think it only applies to the Lexington and Omaha.
Was this your first video game? I remember grand theft auto 3 had that lol
I absolutely love finding out about all these little gems.

So glad i found this channel when i was really feeling the itch to jump back into Night City
I had the same random itch a few days ago
Got the same itch too. I appreciate it even more now that I’m in my second play through.

@@StuGamePlus wow you do not sound 45 years old at all
Don't know if someone already mentioned this, but "triple witching hour" (23:40 in your video) is a term from financial markets. It happens four times per year, and it refers to the simultaneous expiration of three different types of securities. It can lead to increased market volatility on those days.
just discovered this video and i'm so glad i did, i've played cyberpunk for more than 100 hours and still managed to miss some of these... what an amazing game..
Incredible game! And thanks for watching, glad you got something out of it. 😀
Glad you enjoyed it, and you're right I did! It's why I made this one. :) ua-cam.com/video/88QDdZJm2bo/v-deo.html
18:21 The little girl can be found again. There is a fixer quest, from dakota iirc, in the badlands where you have to free a guy from militech. In the room where some captives are held, theres that girl in a corner. You can't talk to her but at least you can scan here to see her name.
You actually pass out under water with Judy completely and wake up with her saving you. So each one blacks out completely

I know right! This game is masterful in its execution of character/story details like this.
The reason Jackie seems incomplete as an engram is because most of him is with Norman on deliveries across America in Death Stranding.
1:18:10 The reason they added that easter egg is that they messed up A.I Pathing so they endlessly run into that wall. It was fixed obviously but they keep the memory.
Skippy has unique quotes based on V's gender. If you're playing as a female V, Skippy may say something along the lines of:
"Fun fact, the majority of murders are committed by men. In other words, you go, girl!"
Oh wow yeah great point! Nice addition, thank you.
Skippy is the fckn best
I never got the option to return Skippy to Regina after 50 kills. The avatar also glitched out when it swapped modes after the 50.🤦♂️🤣
Thanks for your videos!
Nice find! Awesome!
Yes there are definitely "floaty robots" in Fallout. They're eyebots and one of them, Ed-E is a companion in Fallout New Vegas.

@@StuGamePlus Agreed. If you wanna use my comment snippet for the video, not that it matters, but you have my blessing to do so.
I'm still finding stuff I missed just doing different playthroughs, just saw the scene with Guro when your scoping out industrial park on top of the building, the whole scene was refreshing actually hearing his backstory and having a discussion with him
I had NO idea you could skip/miss that scene, is it not integral to the story?
@@StuGamePlus yeah you get an option before, you could tell him to do the recon by himself and you don't get that scene
one more interesting moment - if u're corpo, u can go to industrial park like a corpo-guy without stealth or fight
I saw that last night too! Very cool
It's actually pretty fun because most of those things I discovered in one run by simple curiosity. You take your time and game is about to surprise you many times.
Such a good game. Great experience.
"Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy" is in itself a movie reference from Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
Good point, and one of the few that is not named after a song. I've not seen the movie but I remember my parents watching the TV series that the film was based on in the early 80s. I really should watch it!
@@StuGamePlus The movie was fantastic! I've never seen the TV series.
Great minds!
I also hope the Melissa Rory thing gets expanded on, I'd like it if in future dlc they make it so there's a maxtac side quest/story where you join them then attend a few special attacks maybe even a romance option for her and a new ending added where you get help from maxtac to get into arasaka
That would be super fun.
I've just gotten a new rig so decided to replay CP2077. I know compared to what they promised this game is just a shadow but if you just look at it in isolation it is an incredible game. There are just stories, details and references everywhere 🙂
This video must have taken you a long time to make so well done for that.
Yup. There sure is! I added it in another video, you might enjoy it too
The Spanish inquisition reference busted my sides when I first heard it. Johnny's genuine, deadpan reaction was too much for me. 😂
After finishing the game the 5 times available it was nice to watch this and see what I'd missed.
Still it might be worth including it specifically, as a thing you missed because it's something missed if people blitz through it.
if u killed Joutaro before Woodman, u can take a powerful argument :)
another thing, his name might be a Jojo reference to the part 3 protagonist Jotaro Kujo
No. You Are wrong. Morgan Blackhand is NOT Mike Pondsmiths insert character.
I loved the Jen Rowley addition and i love the Dukes of Hazzard so much. Its so beautiful
It's a nice car!
35:29 could also be another Real Steel reference-part of Atom’s gimmick is dancing with Max before he steps up to fight, and the fact that the robot is found in a watery ditch mirrors where Atom is first found.
Interesting take! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it!
@@StuGamePlus thank YOU for taking the time to compile these videos! you’ve always got something i’ve never seen!
For the fallout vault 101 one, the name Albert Cole is derived from the preset character from Fallout (1997) and most likely canon name for the original Vault Dweller from vault 13
Awesome detail!
Fun fact:
Actually the Akira's bike reference is a triple reference, obviously the akira reference, the 2nd one is about the model of the bike is "kusanagi" that is a reference to the protagonist of ghost in the shell "motoko kusanagi" and the 3rd one is that the actual frame of the bike is from the bike that is shown on the anime "ghost in the shell arise" and is driven by motoko kusanagi, being a reference itself from akira's bike, so it's a triple reference bike based on a reference bike too.
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Nice work
im giving the game another shot, doing all sidequests and gigs and exploring and im having a great time. cdpr really fixed and improved the game.
1:17:15 It could be a referrence to the crashed Star destroyer on Jakku that Rey lives in in the beginning of the force awakens
I like this theory!
At the columbarium you can also find the name Dean Russel. He was Claire the bartender's husband who died in a street race.
Oh yes! that's who dean Russel is. Nice one!
Oh wow! I wonder! Good thinking 🤔
Great info, thanks! I took about 6 months to complete the game first time around, so it was probably cut well before I got to it.
1:16:51 Caliburn is the sword Arthur draws from the Stone, Excalibur is the sword the Lady in the Lake gives him
Nice!
from what I knew Caliburn and Excalibur are translations of the same sword that is sometimes referred to as the stone sometimes lady of the lake but in the lady of the lake it replaces a broken sword Clarent which is the one drawn from the Anvil and sometimes confused with drawing the sword from the stone
@@camerontrivett1772 Good point
Shown in #161 Excalibur, written where the sword is it says “Kilroy was here”. That’s a WWII reference usually accompanied by a face peaking over a wall with a large nose. Cool part of history
I know, I was gutted I missed that one. Added it in a future vid. :D
The level of confidence in "I think this is a camper van" is astounding lmao
😂
Viktor Vektor is based on Henry Rollins' character, Spider, from Johnny Mnemonic
Interesting!
Forgot Rollins was in that, will have to watch again.
Outstanding work Tez! I didn't want it to end :(
Glad you enjoyed it!
**EDITS/UPDATES**
-Thumbnail Jacket: cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Tenka_Mus%C5%8D_combat_motorcycle_jacket
-Re V passing out.
The main guy in that one is still Adam Jenson.
i liked the sleepy kitty picture lol
Her name was Artemis. Such a cutie!
I didn't know that was way he happened to disturbia! Nice
Lol I was actually buying the Dukes of Hazzard car as you just started that item on the list. I love when that serendipitous stuff happens.
Me too! And I love that car!
Idk if it was brought up, but if you’re Johnny, and you activate photo mode, there’s 1 or 2 poses you can do as Johnny that are references to things, you can do the “you’re breathtaking” pose, and I think one more 👍
Yeah, you can do Those poses with V too. Well definitely the You're Breathtaking one.
1:24:22
I have another one.
(especially the devil ending)
No matter how hard V tried to get the chip out of the brain and how many times V had the chance to make it, V failed. (Judy, Panam, Goro)
There's no way out, just like the song "Op.55 No.1" always ends with C5.
(Listen to the song yourself, and you might know what I'm talking about)
57:23
BTW the main character of an upcoming Netflix show, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, David, has become a night city legend. You can order a David Martinez in Afterlife.
The city always wins.😭
It always wins. 😢
Isn't the mission named that because it's what Hanako is playing on the piano
@@stevee8318 Idk, maybe the developers made she play it because of this theory.
21:33 I could spend all day admiring Purple Force :) I love her spider eyes :)
1:08:09 He just has the same drinking problem that Ted Striker does.. it appears to be some form of PTSD
1:18:05 Its actually a double easteregg. back in launch, npcs would make their turn there and phase in to the wall. so they were making fun of their own bug with this HP ref :)
1:33:04 A cheeky reference to Johnny Mnemonic is the Ads for Revere Courier Services in game. ua-cam.com/video/0KxRDJ8tDUg/v-deo.html First 80gb Free of charge :p edit: Oh well you caught it
1:37:50 that's the HK Slap. a well known maneuver for the MP5 line of weapons from H&K
Oh man! I always thought she was called purple horse... Force makes more sense!
@@StuGamePlus Hehe the Announcer for us cracks doesn't do her any favors!
added more timecodes to the thingie :p
Also the mission name "where is my mind" is a reference to the pixies song of the same title that plays at the ending of fight club . Very clever way to refer to the flick
Yup. Especially as it speaks to the duality of the mind. And in the (Spoiler for those not seen it) end of FC, he gets rid of Tyler Durdan in a similar kind of way that we get rid of Johnny (albeit by very different means). I really should mention that as a stand out song title. Although there are some other clever ones too, like Space Oddity, involving bringing something down from orbit and many more. But I agree, this one is especially clever.
The crashed ship number 151 could be a reverance to subnautica maybe. Its unrealistik but could be true. Nice video.
Interesting!
We’ll always have that carpark though and even now the sight of a broken down car with its bonnet up makes my heart skip a beat.
yup, in my second playthrough, as female V, I just ignored her entire quest and went with Judy instead
@@MrMightyZ 😅
@@StuGamePlus Ahur-hur-hur...you said 'assets'. 😆 I'm playing a female Nomad on my first whole 1.6 game, and I'm going to ditch Panam and get the car. But does this mean the Aldecaldo ending is unavailable? Or do the Aldecaldos still love you?
29:49 - That fight poster always made me think of Primal Rage, a fighting game filled with monsters.
The red and blue colors, plus the stripes on blue and the 'scales' on red. But I'm probably wrong.
Could easily be that too, I just have an unhealthy fixation on the "Razor is a Robot" thing!
Super appreciate the reference to the original CP2077 trailer, especially since it's named after Bullets, the track used in the trailer that got stuck in my head for like months after seeing it.
Good way to digest all the various little details in the game. I found it amusing how you kept entering cars from the wrong side lol
You're not the first to notice this! lol. I'm a beast of habit. :D
Yup. Good points all round, it's still Mike at the end of the day. They opted to go with his likeness over the source art.
The cat is also a reference to something Takemura said about Bakeneko being able to sense the dead
You see a cat follow Johnny in the same scene
Absolutely!
Pretty sure the reference to the witch sabbath is about the three witches you have to find in the swamp later in Wild Hunt, triple witching day sounds way to similar about them
Yup, it's a combination of the two things, trading teen and the withes sabbath from TW3
Razor being a robot seems legit, red scanning info over the eyes is whats going on when other people are controlling people in the game
You picked the wrong moment for the "passing out" section with Judy. You should've picked the moment when V passes out while they're in the underwater town. Fades to black and Judy has to carrying V to the surface.
Yes! You are 100% correct. Alas, it's been pointed out to me several times. I am indeed a numpty. Please forgive me!
The bullitt car was my favorite!! Once I got it, it was my main car. Just feels so bad ass, and a really cool reference.
I absolutely love it too! Love American muscle and these NUSA muscle cars are awesome.
The platform 69 3/4 easter egg on 1:18:16 was put there because on the original release a lot of npcs would walk straight into the wall and smash their head into it
I recently learned about this too! Awesome detail and sense of humour.
The one at 26:33 made me literally spit out my coffee! Can't believe I missed that one, but for anyone who's a GTA San Andreas fan, that's just GOLDEN!
Gas Gas Gas is also most likely a reference to Inital D, along wirh that the little girl with controller may be refrence to "Real Steel" which is robot boxing with controller's like that, where the young boy has a line thats much like her "fooled him" line
yup! It has to be for sure.
at 1:17:07 right now, and I just wanted to say that the way you have gone through this is the way you would have a conversation with someone about everything in the game. how you'll say "theres this and this, oh and this might be a thing, what so you think?".
Have a great day, and if you're looking for more like this, I have a second 200 things video you might also enjoy and am working on a brand new one which I should have done in the coming weeks. Enjoy!
i love how he says " I should really do some more research before making one of these...haha...Next up..." that got me hahaha
It's quite the coincidence indeed, it's one of those classic tropey gun names like "peacemaker". I wonder if it is indeed connected to overwatch!
The lap dancing robot is from the film True Lies and is the scene when Arnold Schwarzenegger is testing his wife Jamie Lee Curtis.
I'm not sure that this is right, I remember that scene there's a 4-poster bed involved. I should cross reference the names though and if you're right I'll add that to a future video.
@@StuGamePlus It is right cause the guy in the chair is in shadow just like in the movie and the move where the dancing robot does like a semi split and reaches away is the same pose.
really enjoyed this video!! i knew about half of the facts/references but missed the others. overrall it's super interesting to see how much thought the devs put in the references and wolrdbuilding and all the little easter eggs.
also: re: some questions in the video:
- the cat food, according to a shard (i think?) it's made of tofu and tuna
- the weird boob advertisements can also be seen in jig-jig street
- there is an actual cerberus (from mass effect) reference in-game. during the sandra dorsett quest where you get her databank back, if you decrypt it, you can talk netrunning with her and she mentions breaking through a ceberus and leviathan (both ME2-3 references)
- the cat is also seen before entering vik's clinic for the first time to get the kiroshis installed, probably symbolizing the bad events that happen when v and jackie hit the major leagues.
- the name of the car "vato" literally translates to "guy" in mexican spanish slang.
Great catch on the Sandra Dorsett quest, I totally missed the Mass Effect reference there. I'll have to include that in future videos. Nice one! Glad you enjoyed the video :D
