Love the concept ya'll have going on, a dad and sons having quality time! Great, and love the time-lapse at night 👍😎 Edit, o! Loved the snow building! That's always fun to see what is going to be made! But then again, I love me some, and alot, snow ❄️ 😃
to keep warmer, the thin air mattress pads are made to absorb the cold from the bottom. also in the past i have seen people take tarps, even heavy blankets and put them under the rain trap. you can keep the buddy heater on all night, also a tent ceiling fan will help push and circulate the warm air.
Thank you for the tips! We were hesitant to keep the buddy heater on all night, but it did seem safe to use. I never thought of the tent ceiling fan. I appreciate the suggestions!
Still got to be careful with those heaters though, even the ones that are supposed to shut off when there's too much C02. There was some ice fisherman on YT who had their's on and the girl with them noticed she was getting very tired and shouldn't be, turns out the heater never shut off like it should have and their tent was full of C02. Luckily she noticed it.

We prefer to turn our heater off. I would rather be safe than have something bad happen. Those ice fishermen were lucky she noticed it!
