I'm thinking the same but I gotta come from bedford so looks like I'm having a holiday to Wales this year coming just me my guitar and me dog 🐕 but I will have to make contact with him first to make sure he's about
being a woodwind and brass instrument repairman back in the mid 80s and 90s. I have no clue about guitars.. however, watching this video . I can see the wear and patina on the fret board , which fits so close to what Mark is playing on this great rock classic!
Hey Mark, tell us again about how you play the guitar all wrong ; ) This performance was off the charts, round the corner and down the road. Fantastic expression and commitment to the notes. Thank you Mark and artfrob. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
From one great artist to another..great song choice..so well played mark...thanks very much for the music 🎶 you are amazing 👏 there should be more mark Alan's in this world....please take care..Jimmy cupid from England.
Well done Mr Allen ❤ you appeared in my UA-cam 2024 recap 5 times , thank you for sharing some wonderful and fantastic guitar playing with us. I wish you all the best dude 👍
Sheer brilliance !!! Following on from Mike Strange's comment, somehow Eric Clapton should hear this. I will be watching this a few more times I am sure. Thanks to Artfrob too for bringing Mark to us.
Beautiful. Its so wonderful to hear you playing that guitar again. To me, its always been YOUR signature guitar. You and that specific individual guitar have always been One. Youre able to express so much more of yourself through that guitar. Just perfect.x
After seeing and hearing Mark playing the guitar here, I have given up learning the guitar! What a fabulous piece of music Mark, amazing playing and the feeling you put into every note is astounding. Thanks so much for this, and as it is now 3.20 pm so for me, this music is literally Wonderful Tonight! Keep up the great work matey, totally brilliant, love it!
Oh, don't give up. For me, when I started, it had the wrong guitar for me and we never hit it off to the point of me hating guitar at the time. Then, years later, I got a cheap Spanish guitar from a charity shop and that guitar with the segovia book that came with it gave me so much love. I now play a travel size acoustic when I write my own songs. You don't have to be a genius or virtuoso (I'm definitely not) to enjoy guitar. I still only play basic chords with a couple of additional chords I find by moving one finger at a time on to another string or fret to see what it sounds like. I am learning very basic arpeggio picking now and use the open and 1,2,3 fret of the llow E and A strings to add bass line fills. It's a process that grows the more time you spend together. Find a couple of songs you like and learn those. If the chords are too difficult, use a capo and find easier versions I easier keys. It doesn't need to be impossible. I still don't use barre chords ever. If I need an odd chord, I just use the bottom four strings that my fingers can reach and play just those. Top tip: All the strings that are sounding the actual pure notes of any chord will play louder that the ones that aren't. I frequently now hook over my thumb to fret the low E string and then strum all six strings and the low A string when it's not within the chord doesn't hardly sound at all cos it gets buried under the other sounding strings of that chord.
What thread connects us to someone when someone plays that well? How well played and with so much emotion that the best guitarists in this world would certainly like to hang out with you and work on something together with you, Mark Allen. Thanks again to Mark Allen and the always attentive Artfrob who produces these fantastic little films in his own style.
