Only thing that's a tad annoying with the new weapons, is having to immediately max lvl them to make them worth using. I'd hoped they would have higher base stat requirements to make them more useful on pick up.
You should have miner bells at printable so you can just buy all upgrades pretty easily

Did some testing. The AoW scales with INT only. Minimum STR+DEX and 80 INT the AoW does 3800 dmg. Minimum STR+INT and 80 DEX the AoW does 3600 dmg, more if you hit the enemy with the blade itself, not just the magic part. The difference in damage is pretty small so if you want to be a caster and use the sword when enemies get close go with more INT than DEX. If you don't want to cast spells then go full DEX obviously.
I dont get it. U say the aow scales only with int yet when u had low int and high dex it almost did the same dmg. Doesnt it scale with both stats then?
@@desrainis123 They're saying that it scales with both but it's slightly skewed towards INT, so having higher INT is more beneficial than high DEX if all you care about is raw damage from the AoW

I’ve always used dual katanas with a dex/int build so this is perfect for me! Was using fire uchikatana and moonveil but would like to try something new for the dlc

I've been looking for a DLC weapon to take back into the main game, I think you have just found it for me.
You give REALLY good directions. There are guides to pretty much every single game, probably even Centipede 😂. I don’t have the map for the last leg of the trek, but following your verbal directions I got there. That’s crazy rare in my experience.
Gotta have it. 😳 The DLC brought back lots of good and bad memories but it’s worth the money for the amount of hours spent so far.
Got the weapon,took it to +10 and tested it on multiple enemies and since it's stats are scaling just like the Moonveil i didn't had to respec anything but the Moonveil is still slightly better in terms of damage,so if you want a new OP weapon it's not the case but if you just want a new cool looking weapon it might be the right one,just as i said don't expect to perform better than moonveil cause it won't

I came across this today and now my new favorite weapon in the game, i always liked rivers of blood until it got nerfed, so I'm happy for a new katana now. Can't wait for my second play through so i can dual wield them.

Thanks for these great videos! I really feel a lot of players have not grasped the importance or significance of how to level up and your videos now have me better prepared! I saw on Reddit there doing the cerulean coast boss like 30-50 times average. After I watched your video on how to level up, I went back and beat him first try but the actual fight I recorded was over 2 minutes. Extremely challenging but fun 🫡📺🏆🌎💯 looking forward to more videos
Doesn’t the ash of war do intelligence damage, shouldn’t you prioritize that over dex?
That's what im thinking. wouldn't a hybrid of int/dex be better than full dex..
It has better dex scaling, B at fully leveled, while int is only at D. A few extra points in int would help but it’s not as worth it as leveling dex
@@nobreakfeast4201 even if the Dex scaling is better the primary reason someone would use this weapon would be for the ash of war, so besides the requirements the dex damage doesn’t really matter compared to the int damage on the ash of war
I love this build. Idk why but if u mimic tear+ spam ash of war sometimes u just break bosses(they will stand still and do nothing) soo be careful if u wanna fight the bosses normally.... or maybe im just dumb and something else just breaks them

DLC is harder than endgame areas in the base game. More dark souls like experience in terms of enemy and bosses difficulty, other than that pure elden ring greatness.

for the boss if your still struggling use the sacred relic sword and just spam it
apparently 2 handing only benefits strength weapons, this weapon doesn't get a damage boost while 2 handed, minimal if at all.
this thing is cool AF tho i have yet to fight anything in the Erdtree map for real yet - getting sedutree boosted up first bc i SO suck at fighting!

It's a very cool weapon, that does technically mix moonveil and rivers of blood, however, like Rivers of Blood, and unlike Moonviel, it has ZERO stopping power. Later on when the bigger guys with their endless combos come at you, the twirling wont help :/ Thinkig of a certain lightning based sentinel somewhere with a giant f***-off sword :(

I ran into a game breaking bug I think. I’m at the fog gate at the high roads cross site of grace and the fog gate won’t let me pass through it. There’s no prompt when I walk up to it.

That fog gate is Rellana’s fight. It’s the exit after you fight her.
thats cuz its a boss but youre on the other side. Some bosses dont let you enter wherever, even draconic tree sentinel is like this

Fun fact: I almost missed this but in that section when you were going down the river after running passed all the gravebirds and activating the site of grace on that rocky bridge just below the grace look to the waterfall tp see a jar hanging from a rope, shoot it with an arrow to send the jar crashing down then just go down and collect it, its a bell-bearing

The weapon is very cool but its just not good very bosses. The skill has no poise whatsoever so bosses just hit you out of it and you can't finish the skill.
I find it rather annoying.

Like the weapon but to be honest this video doesn’t really help because for people new to the dlc not having the south side of the map, it’s pretty hard to find that sword especially when you can’t show it.

Don't know why but every time I kill the npc carrying it I get only star shards...not the sword.
Did you watch the video? You need to kill the demihuman queen boss at the shore, not the small demihuman carrying this sword

Does the ash of war scale off int..?..or dex..?..im using this on a dex build and the ash of war doesn’t do much damage.
Pretty sure the like extended blade deals magic damage and skales of int and if you hit with the normal blade too it deals the phys damage as well

Also, the really bad thing about this weapon is that no boss is going to stand still long enough for you to use the AOW 3 times. Its not practical at all.
