Oooo that little dial on the stick is smart and the bumper lock too!
the steamdeck oled your granny gets you, and you love anyways
Definitely seems way better than Steam Deck OLED
@@drew2626 Better be considering how much they copied it and the fact that Steam deck is now more than 2 years old.
SteamOS is probably the main reason to get a steamdeck over something like this
@@anudeepk7579theres nothing wrong with coping from competitors.
@@freefall5x how is SteamOS a selling feature for the Steam Deck?
This thing sounds like an interesting proposition if it has SteamOS, Haptics in the trackpads, and if it had 2 more back buttons
VRR people. That's what we need on these things.
Why isn't this a thing? It must literally just be too small a market. Hope that changes soon.
Not needed in the slightest. This has everything it needs in a screen. Only other thing would be increasing the RAM.
@@Patrick-y4d1z I would take VRR over more RAM anyday. VRR is extremely important when it comes to a device that has fluctuating performance.
I watched some other vids on this, and it also seems that the screen is native portrait, hence the no vrr
@@fuzzymuppet1990 what does being native portrait have to do with vrr?
Got mixed info on the power button being a sensor as well. PC World stated it was not a sensor and that the camera was intentended to be used for the quick unlock using face recognition.
battery
If it had at least 24gbs Ram I would be sold. 16gb is a deal breaker. Love my ally x.
To me, this is more of an Indie game or AA game device.
If Zotac could boost the RAM to 24 or even 32 gigs, have options for more than a 512GB SSD, and possibly put in a bigger battery this would be a seriously awesome device.
Sound like a Asus Rog Ally X
It really doesn't need more memory for gaming. The battery life is a bummer though. That thing won't last for an hour under load.
Yeah, they need to keep up and nove towards next year gen, not releasing last year gen stuff.
@@DanKaschel That doesn't mean more memory wouldn't be appreciated.
@@GPTLeader if the Ally X had track pads and a better OS it would be the undisputed champ.
i like the refpreshing of all the handleahds because its keeping general interest high. but i personally will be waiting for the next big jump in APU performance.
I’ve never been this early. I don’t know what happens next.
*panic*
Whoa that might get me to switch from the steam deck oled. Having windows would be convenient. I can copy my games from my pc and play. No need for tinkering, adding it to steam.
The sponsor segment sounds like he had to record it quietly to not wake his neighbors
The masses want a steam deck 2 that they can connect a quest headset to, and be able to download VR games to play off of it. SDVR. Thats what the masses want… It would make VR even more portable.
man im so glad steamdeck made the portable consoles mainstream again
i know thw switch has been around for a while, but i think the steam deck truly gave fear to the big companies showing what others are capable to do in a portable small factor and not a high price
cant wait to see everyone go back to handhelds
yes competition is ALWAYS great for gaming. I'm glad there are more of these guys in the market.
My dream handheld device:
- SteamOS 3 and efficient OS
- 8.1” AMOLED or Tandem AMOLED 1080p 165 Hz LTPO 3.0 and 2000 nits peak HDR brightness and 1000 nits SDR typical touchscreen (like Rog phone eight pro)
- thin bezels or without corners
- Latest Intel chip with 3x graphics performance vs. Z1 extreme on Ally or Legion Go, viable 120 fps AAA gaming
- Dock performance mode
- three USB-C with USB 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4 specification
- RGB illuminated D-pad, analog stick, and buttons
- 500g of weight
- Hall effect sensors in every input (analogs or triggers)
- 85 Wh battery
- SSD 2280 PCIe 4.0 support
- removable Wi-Fi Antenna
Why on earth would you want Intel? It really remains to be seen if they ever get the compatibility on part with even AMD.
Why would you want Intel though?
Oh I love how we have so many decks to touch and play now
Definitely compelling! I'm still pretty happy with my first gen Deck but I hope this sector survives if/when the day comes I need a newer one to keep using. I really like the touchpads so I'm glad someone else is incorporating those.
All the other cool things aside, that dial around the analog stick is so ingenious. I would like that on an Xbox controller for volume control or sensitivity adjustments 200%
Huge kudos putting touch pads on it. Now if it only had four grip buttons, it'd be an unambiguous straight upgrade from the Steam Deck (assuming it's steam input compatible).
That would be the perfect handheld with the latest efficient chip, an 80Wh battery like the Rog Ally X, and a larger 8” OLED 144Hz LTPO 3.0 screen. Anyway, I’m excited that the competition in the handheld space is becoming very intense.
This is golden. Literally just strap another 40w battery and you got yourself the best deal on handheld market
The dial is genius, but I would want it for either
A. Sensitivity.
B. Tension/Resistance. No more floppy, flaccid sticks, boys.
Thx. I now know the Screen of the Ally2 which which will be like 1000$
Battery is going to be a major problem against the 80wh competition.
Im gonna call it right now, that joystick dial is next level big brain, and will become a standard feature on at least gaming handhelds, if not controllers too. Think about how LONG that joystick design has existed, and someone just found a way to give it another input method.
DAYUM! This might finally be the perfect handheld PC, combining all the best features of the Ally and the Deck. And I don't mind the short battery of the Ally that much. I won't mind it in this one.
OLED HDR and VRR is all I ask.
I hate that I like this. It’s basically everything everyone wants and if you really wanted to I’m sure this would be an amazing STEAM OS device.
Edit: as long as they have good software comparing to the Ally and good device support.
This is everything a steam deck needs, ill be getting one at release.
If the final version has thunderbolt for external gpu usage and the price is competitive that's my new handheld
“this seems like a very compelling little package” -Yvonne to Linus
Zotac is such a success story in tech! I wish them the best!
Adjustable triggers/ stops and a camera in a handheld is niceee
as i type this on my Steam Deck, I specifically got the Deck because of the trackpads but the Deck isn't strong enough for my usage. And I got an Ally which is powerful enough but no trackpads lol i havent watched this yet but feel this will be a great median
I don’t understand that the mere 2 programmable back buttons… if I’m utilizing them it’s because I don’t wanna touch the 4 face buttons
Looks like zotac actually paid attention, massive kudos for that
My only wish with it is that they placed joysticks above the buttons/d-pad and trackpads to where they joysticks are.
Otherwise, this device looks very promising. Love to see it.
Not bad, although I'm not sure anyone is going to trade in their current handheld for this one. It certainly does add a solid device to compete with the current offerings for new customers. I wonder when we will reach saturation of this segment of the market. Just how many people are out there looking for dedicated PC gaming handhelds?
Adjustable triggers are actually a really great feature. All controllers should have them.
pretty sure many other reviewers said it doesn't have a fingerprint sensor as of yet especially since it's still in beta phase
0:34 and AYN Odin mini
hell yes another handheld with trackpads, I love the steam controller and steam deck (though I wish it was track pad primary) and to me the lack on trackpads on other handhelds like the Ally is an instant deal breaker. I don't care how powerful or how long the batter life is or how good the screen is, to me no trackpads no buy, so I'll be keeping an eye on this. good job Zotac
The more Handhelds we get, the better! especially one as interesting as this one!
If i can use those dials to play Tempest 2000 that would be pretty sweet.
Ayaneo Air 1S is the only other handheld pc other than the SD oled with an oled screen, but it's only a 5.5-inch screen
