There’s a quick fix to the charging plate ‘problem’ you have. Use the USB C socket in the arm rest. That solves a couple of issues - your phone being out of sight while driving (keeping you legal), and also eliminates error messages on the screen. The puma is a fab car all in all. I’ve just upgraded from the X to the full fat ST as I loved all the features inside and out 👍🏻
Yeah that is the only fix to the problem, but unfortunately I don’t use USB C with my iPhone. There’s nothing illegal about having your phone in sight while driving either. I did enjoy the Puma and it’s definitely got a lot of potential compared to other manufactures similar models. How are you finding the ST compared to the X?
Does it give error message if it’s two different mobiles? - no reason to plug the same phone into the USB if in the charging area. Most of these “hates” are very personal - I have a Puma and none of this guys “hates” are an issue for me … picky.
I'm not sure on the error message. All my hates are purely my opinion, I know there's other people who won't mind what I've said and others who will hate so much more than me! I only put the videos out there to try give people a bit more of an idea before they buy the car themselves and then later hate something
Really don't get it people picking up on Ford/Kia/Opel the cheap plastic as in this video to quote " for a 25k car" while in the same time being very forgiving with Audi/Mercedes which recently are taking the piss big time with cheap plastic and those cars cost 40k or over. Few examples of premium brands I checked when deciding on company car and finding cheap horrible plastic: -Mercedes CLA premium plus AMG line Phev. Price 42k. Cheap plastic everywhere below and including glove box and the central console. -Audi A3 S line competition Phev. Price with some options 40k. Cheap scratchy plastic including on top of front doors .And of course glove box and below on central console. These two have been seen by me in person. Also had as rental cars Renault Captur, Nissan Juke, Opel Mokka and they all have cheap plastic everywhere. One colegue bought a VW T-Roc and the plastics are horrible everywhere including top of the dash. Lame things to pick up especially he kept saying it's a 25k car, of course it is as it's high spec ST Line X .Puma it's in the class average in terms of interior materials used. Hoped I will learn something new about this car as I love how it drives for a crossover , unfortunately just wasted my time..
Definitely a valid point you make and I can't deny it. Although, I do find in the majority of the Audi's and Mercedes I've driven recently, the cheaper plastics are less noticeable and if they are there, they are at least designed slightly nicer.
every supplier these days is looking for cheaper options even if it's not exactly in line with customer rquirements. this is because of the price increase of raw materials especially polymer and other of course. a lot of legal arguing in automotive recently and it's just going to get worse cars more expensive with cheaper materials.

Some good points….I’m close to ordering mine but still deliberating 🤔 Update: GREAT driving car, ordered this in white/automatic: points 1,2&4 not too bad as I use wireless charging phone also, won’t be using handbrake too often when in Park mode so access to water bottle or cup will be OK……would benefit from an electric handbrake then you could have a larger armrest…… Thanks for this very useful review 👍
All I can recommend is getting out and giving one a test drive mate! Get a feel for it and see how it would deal with your daily needs and expectations in a car!
Wireless charger doesn’t always work, and it’s much slower. Also, you need to have it plugged in for apple car play as it doesn’t have Bluetooth CarPlay
I had a number of Fords. Since Focus 2018 I've always charged my phone from USB in the armrest. You can fit your phone there or put it in the cup holder, as there is hole to run cable. Main USB is used to connect USB stick with music. This way no problem with cables and charging. About colors. Red is "sporty" so you will find it in most cars on stiching inside. Blue is Ford company color and it distinguish their cars on a road. BTW. Desert Island color is one of the nicest colors on car.
Also forgot to mention the limited leg on the back seats. If a person with long legs pushes the drivers seat back, the person at the back will end up poking their knees into the drivers back.
You make some good points I hadn't taken too much notice of when I looked at one last week. It should have an electric handbrake in this day and I def won't get blue now. Very good point about the conflict with charging and cable .. is wireless carplay and android auto an option I wonder ??
Thank you mate, glad I could point some things out you might have missed! Wireless CarPlay isn’t available, or at least wasn’t in this model, but it would definitely fix the problem. The only other operion is USB C charging in the centre storage bin, but USB C isn’t too frequently used in the UK

Why would anyone do that? Plugging the phone in is the only way to get Apple CarPlay.
