You seem confused about the cylinder deactivation It only works at a certain rev range and it brings all 3 cylinders back into play as soon as you accelerate. The transition is so quick, you will never feel it. Especially when you put your foot down. It's exactly the same on the MK8 fiesta ST, which I had previously and I certainly didn't notice it at all !!
@@ivanildo9579I can notice mine too the longer I’ve had it, once you hear it you can’t forget about it and it’s a sound I’m really not a fan of but if it makes a difference to the fuel and actually doesn’t go wrong I can’t fault it
Thanks for upload. There's really no reason for choosing this over the 8.5 Fiesta ST (no Fiesta badging anywhere, inside or out) unless you either need the extra boot space or desire the higher position. Good luck trying to buy a new one now though.
Drove the Fiesta ST and the Puma ST. I have to admit that I wanted the Fiesta but the Puma was much more fun. The higher position gave another sense of speed and felt so irregular. I loved it! For a daily ride it was a bit more comfortable and practical with the bigger boot... The design is in my view a bit more spicy than the Fiesta so I can recommend both ;) Depends on what you prefer
@@mr.bernie6198 The Puma was much more fun? I was thinking that the Fiesta is lighter and more fun but i didnt drove em. Which of the 2 was more comfortable as an everyday car? I mean at bumpy uneven roads, which one has the comfortable suspension?
Nice review :)) Im driving a Fiesta ST MK7. Recently i'm commuting often and would also like to have more space in the back seat. Would this do fine or should i take a look at the Focus ST? Thank you
Glad you enjoyed the review, really depends on how much extra space you need, the rear seats offer a little bit more room but certainly more head room and a lot larger boot. Focus I think would offer more room all round but worth having a look at both
@@DamoDrives Thanks for your fast and helpful answer. Would you say the ridequality is a bit better than in the Fiesta? My Fiesta feels very stiff and shaky. Witch was great for short distance driving but not so much for commuting :))
Some lovely roads around where I live with slllloooeeew speed limits lol. Going to be a very long time before I buy a new new car so can enjoy good old ICE cars for a while lol. Would like to review a few EV cars and see what it’s like living with 1 especially as I cannot charge it at home and there is only 1 place locally to charge it
I don't understand the hype for the Puma.. it looks awful. Why you would choose this weird-shaped thing over a Fiesta is beyond me.. But I guess we have no choice soon with them discontinuing it.
It’s sad it’s going but it’s an old platform so guessing electrifying it would cost to much and the market seems to want SUVs. Small hot hatches seem to be a dying breed. Will stick with my Mini R53 which is the complete opposite 😂
Honestly I agree. The video was good but the only thing going for the Puma compared to a Fiesta is the extra boot space. Cause it seems like the leg room is just the same as what a Fiesta would be anyway. I know crossovers seem to be the hype now but I honestly think if you’re wanting a more spacious Ford than a Fiesta, you might aswell go for the Focus
We’ve just bought the puma st gold edition. It is an absolutely fantastic car. I cannot fault it.
Just picked up my Puma ST from the very same Hendy Dealership. Enjoying it so far! :)
Fantastic 👏 , it’s a really good car. Out of interest did you see this video before or after buying the car

True I wonder if it actually works in my 8.5 can’t feel a thing if it is
@@ogloftus yes it is the same in the 8 or 8.5. i have the fiesta mk8 and the only way you notice is by the sound that is making.

Thanks to your review we have just ordered one (mean green) and it will be here in december
That’s amazing news, did the review help ? Hope you got it from Hendy lol
@@DamoDrives yes based on your review. We are getting ours from John Grose Suffolk
That’s really good to hear 😊, really is a good car
My build date has slipped twice 🙄
That’s frustrating 😳 but everyone seems to be having the issue across all brands
I enjoyed watching the Video. The Puma ST offers more space In the Boot than the Fiesta
Pleased you enjoyed it , this type of review seems to be going down well. Maybe my age but prefer a bit more room lol

What is the problem with buying it?
@@stari6840 Sadly, Ford are discontinuing production of the Fiesta ST.
@@bustestlucloc4630 thats sad, but atleast there will another sport car with reasonable power

It is firmer than the fiesta but did not feel too bad. Need a car with adaptive dampers to get over the problem
We need this in Australia 🇦🇺
I've just bought a puma 2022 ST model, i find the steering very twitchy even after switching off the lane assist.
They are quite direct I suppose but did not really have an issue. What did you have before this ?
I've driven both the fiesta st and puma st steering feels lighter
I think the Puma has a quicker steering rack than the fiesta so maybe that is the reason but not sure 🤔
@@DamoDrives maybe I'm buy one in grey matter without the performance pack hopefully it will still be amazing
@@DamoDrives The Fiesta ST has the quickest steering rack Ford have ever fitted to a car, it's under 2 turns lock to lock the Puma ST is 2.1 turns
Your gonna burn out that rear wiper motor 😂
part of the test :), have you seen another review of a rear wiper lol
@@DamoDrives 😂
Why this obession with speed? Would liked to have seen automatic parking etc.
Thank you for the feedback, other areas covered in the main video (although not the auto parking ) ua-cam.com/video/86TbgMX4n6Y/v-deo.html
It's the performance version, Raymond. It really isn't rocket-science.
Automatic parking comes with the drivers assistance pack

It’s not law yet!
I have one Awesome car 👍👍
I have not actually seen many ST Pumas around me mostly the ST-Line
The Puma is a more practical car. It's roomier.
It's no match for the Fiesta on a twisty road.

Fiesta looks terrible..
The mark 7 fiesta was great.. well built.. Germany..
Latest models were built in Romania..
No way, it looks like a frog
You prefer the fiesta I am guessing 😂, sadly won’t be an option 😢
