- In Today’s video I will be creating a window insert using brass bezel wire and epoxy resin to create a glorious cloisonné resin scene for my mum’s Christmas gift.

That’s beautiful Louise, I love the fall colors and the background colors. It’s very bright and cheerful. I’m sure your Mom loves it! I made my Mom a stained glass window box. With resin it’s quite a bit more difficult to know what it’s going to look like backlit, than it is with stained glass. I made a light table for my home studio, a local glass store gave me a sandblasted piece of clear glass that they had planned to discard. It was perfect and I built my table around that. Some stained glass is almost opaque, while others are very transparent. Depending on the design, it can look terrible if you put both in a backlit piece. The opaque piece’s look like black voids. Your piece is beautiful backlit. But, if you’re wanting to make another one, you could see if a local glass store has any discards and build your next piece on that. That way you can prop it up.. put a light underneath it and remove any resin you don’t like before it cures. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful project!

I originally started watching resin videos for the main purpose of learning if I could use it in my Glass mosaics when I couldn't find a certain color that I was needing. I then found your channel and I've thoroughly enjoyed your videos ever since. I love the variety of things that you make and now you even tackled my stained glass problem. I love how you’re using bezel wire, what a great idea for stained glass. If you’re doing it again and you want the wire to stick down properly, you can gently tap it with a jewellers hammer along the top edge so the entire surface area underneath comes into contact and sticks to the adhesive backing. (I learned that in a silver smithing course once, how to get bezel wire to straighten along the edges) :-)

Louise, that turned out so beautiful. So is it adhered to the window or just resting on the window? I used to do stained glass but never did a window, only smaller panels. This video has inspired me to do this but none of my windows are small. 😂😂😂so I guess if I’m going to do it, it will have to be a gift for someone who does have a smaller window. 😂😂😂
How did u place it in window is there anything ypu woild have do e differrently?
It replaced one that had been there previously so I was able to get the measurements exact and because it was a small window it was able to fit in there snuggly without anything to hold it in place.
