I can imagine all 33 yrs of students remembering how kind and fascinating a teacher you were to them. I already learn a ton from your videos. Thank you for taking the time to create these excellent tutorials. What has been seen, cannot be unseen - the doggie's eye in the leaf 😁😂🤣
Hello UK!!! 'Tis Saturday afternoon here in the US. Cleaning done! Laundry done! Craft supplies newly organized - done! Now on to crafting my little heart and fingers out! Oh dang Christine - per your announcement not to get old - well I've done that too! So happy to view your videos - they are real - funny (yup taught little ones too - at Tennessee School for the Deaf - which brought me to the grand career of being a Sign Language Interpreter) - whoops a bit of a bunny trail chat - but....to all who read this ....happy day, happy smiles, happy crafting, bring light and beauty into the world each day - for by golly the world truly needs both!
😂Oh, how I Iove your story regarding teaching the 'little ones' how to use scissors. It wasn't until I was in my 60s and attended scrapbooking classes, I realised I too had missed out on being taught how to use scissors! A bit embarrassing but obviously, never too old to learn. 😊 'Fussy cutting', as we called it, is now one of my favourite methods of embellishing. Thankyou for your wonderful videos.
What an amazing technique, never seen that before!! I won't throw my doggy calendar away next time. If only all teachers were as kind and caring as you obviously were, the world would be a much better place ❤❤❤
My son has a proprioceptive disorder (sensory processing). At 10, he still struggles with scissors. You have know idea how much your teaching-story just helped us. ❤️ Thank you.
That's wonderful to hear, thank you. Sadly I think many kids are not actually taught how to use scissors properly and are left to just get on with it without being shown how to hold scissors properly either. It warmed my heart to read your comment. I wish your son much success! ♥️♥️♥️
Cloisonne is always beautiful and your butterfly and leaves are no exception. You keep filling my head with so much beauty and each process is worth writing down. I become so involved in watching I forget to write 😃. Sometimes I need to come back to see it again. Then I can take notes. Thank you for this video, particularly those gorgeous leaves. 🇨🇦💖
Hi there 🥰🦘🦘🦘I also have shiny calendar images which I can create faux cloisonne with! What a fabulous idea. I have been crafting for over 50 years and haven't learnt all the tricks & tweaks yet by any means. Wow! I just love this look. Beautiful & very effective on the black too. I agree, to adhere the backing piece of cardstock to the thin shiny paper if wanting to mount the fussy cut image on foam tape. TFS! Keep on being YOU, & I don't feel my age except when the weather changes! Glad I found you, through my friend Pat from Wiltshire 🙏🥰💐
Your previous job explains why you are so good at explaining things. You're a great problem solver too. Thank you for sharing your discoveries with us.
Well you certainly were in the right profession, Chrissie. You are a natural-born teacher!! LOVE your video. And love that you are just being yourself as you talk us through the technique. So enjoyable!! Love, Loll
Ha ha, I love your little asides e.g. “don’t get old” almost as much as I love your creations. I feel sure we would get on if we ever met (although I am on the opposite side of the world in Australia). Please don’t ever change 👍
I'm a recent fan because I've only discovered you a week or so ago but I have to tell you that you have become a favorite! Love the simple, clear instructions you give that make me feel that maybe I can do that project (and I can't wait to try this one). I have discovered the difficulties of becoming old but then I remind myself that the alternative is dying young and it makes the creaks and aches and memory loss less painful!! Keep on inspiring us, dear lady. You have become a "friend" to lighten my days.
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment, I can identify with the creaking but we need to have some fun and for me that’s crafting. When I get back from my holiday I’ll be making more videos! ❤️
@@Chrissieannie So where are you holidaying? Crafting is also my outlet and I just love it. You inspire me with many new tips and tricks and I love that as well. Have a wonderful holiday and look forward to your new videos when you return.
Oh my goodness! That is SOOOO cool! I have a gorgeous calendar of photos that would be amazing with this technique! And, always, than you for making us smile as you go!
WOW 🤩 WOW 🤩 Christine this is Absolutely Amazing And I really really love ❤ this. So Stunningly Beautifully Gorgeous too. thank you so much . As always thank you so much for sharing this amazing technique with us all . Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
As always you are so helpful and do such impressive work. Love, love your stories about your working with our precious children. They are so open to learning and doing things and I know they must have loved you!
This was a wonderful video! Never be hard on yourself for chatting on while illustrating your techniques. I found this video very informative. I learned 3 brand new things. Firstly, I had never known of the cloisonné technique. It’s lovely and I’ll be trying it soon. Secondly, I would absolutely have bungled the pronunciation of the word cloisonné, and so you saying it a few times will help me not to appear the fool in front of my crafty friends. Thirdly (and perhaps most importantly, you’ve passed on wonderful tips for teaching my grandkids (and future crafters) techniques for using scissors. You must have been the very best of teachers. You’ve certainly given me delightful inspiration today! Many thanks
Oh Chris how wonderful you have brightened up the start to my day watching this. Love the technique. Don't grow old it's a hard life 😂🤣well as I approach my 70th birthday I will remember that 🤣🤣😍😍
I love this and have always loved Cloisonné my Grandmother had a lot of it, she was British too she had us over every year to make Christmas Cards. Your have so much talent and wonderful ideas that are so amazing, beautiful and fun. I can't wait to try this. Thank you so much
Lovely ideas. AND you solved a problem I had yesterday, I was cutting card and was getting "snap" scissor marks. At 71 I've been taught how to use scissors correctly. Never too old to learn! Thank you.
At first when you stamped the maple leaf on black then embossed it I thought it was so beautiful why stamp on printed papers. Then you said it again faux cloisonné. Always learning here. It’s really beautiful and I can’t wait to try it! Thank you.
I love hearing your stories and comments!! Makes me feel like I am at your craft table in your home.❤thanks for sharing your idea about the cloisonné technique!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all be at the same craft table… I guess it would have to be a mighty big one! For now I’m happy to just share mine with you! I hope you enjoy lots of my videos and give them a thumbs up! 😊

I have not thought of doing this nor seen it before. 🤔 I wonder; does the magazine paper not warp or curl upon heating? ? I didn't see you have that trouble but it seems like it could almost shrivel. 😏
You have so many beautiful stamps. The brands you use aren’t as readily available here in the US. I have a bit of stamp envy! Both the butterfly and leaves are gorgeous. That aside, I absolutely love this technique. The results are stunning. By the way, I love your teacher talk. I taught the little ones for 47 years. You bring back some very sweet memories. Wouldn't it work with gilding flakes as the background? I don't buy any glossy magazines these days, only cross word magazines and they're far from glossy. I also thought that you wouldn't have to heat emboss the stamp on the background paper and that a simple ink would work for placement unless you need some small golden (or metallic) details you can't cut out? Hopefully you understand my ramblings. 😇 Lovely result and technique! I will definitely try it! 💖👍
Well I hope you’ll try out all your a suggestions! Whatever works for you is grand!
Great technique Chrissie, I am off to have a play. :)
What an interesting technique.Would also work well with stamp and die sets..I am not a good fussy cutter 🤦♀️ thanks must try this out !
If you do the stamping and embossing underneath the cut out images, any imperfections made with your scissors would be compensated by the lower stamping/embossing! Dies always leave a border around their matching images.
@@Chrissieannie didn’t think of that …😂oh well back to the scissors 👍
