It's worth noting the shoulders are also trained in the row and pull up variations as well. Of course, this is just a minimalist program. Any additional force vectors (like a seated overhead press) are definitely beneficial - and could even replace the bench press if you'd prefer. This is just a great starting point for those on a time crunch or not currently doing any strength training. Good question!
