When Sukuna mentions the "back then" I'm pretty sure he meant back in Season 1 when he pulled out Yuji's heart in front of Megumi, at that point Megumi was on the verge of summoning Mahoraga to eliminate Sukuna as a last resort
Putting things into easier context: 1) No sacrifice is needed for Mahoraga/Makora’s ritual/summon. It’s a case that the Sorcerer can find other people to join in the Subjugation ritual. But the ‘taming’ is voided after-which. Essentially you can form a Pokémon GO party with others to raid the Raid Boss. However if you fight alongside teammates, even if you win; you don’t get to catch the Pokémon. Only if you solo and win the raid yourself, you are allowed to catch/tame the Prize(Mahoraga/Makora). 2) Subjugate does not mean create. The 10 Shadows technique has total of Ten Shikigami the sorceror can obtain. Each 10 Shadows Technique user was given the 2 Dogs as Starter Pokémon. The Sorcerer will need to best/defeat the rest of the Shikigamis to subjugate them under his control.(much like weaken and catch the Pokémon). Mahoraga/Makora is like the Legendary Pokémon. Subjugate means to tame or bring under control through conquest. What Megumi was trying to say, you can summon Mahoraga/Makora endless amount of times to attempt the Subjugation Ritual. But NO ONE has ever tamed Mahoraga/Makora before. Not the Former Clan Leader who used Mahoraga/Makora… definitely not Megumi. Mahoraga/Makora attacks Megumi because he is a Wild Pokémon. Megumi and the former Clan Leader both did not ‘earn the gym badges’ to control or make Mahoraga/Makora obey. So they can only summon Mahoraga/Makora as a last resort suicide option and just let it go wild!
she understood what was happening with the shikigame. Its not sacrifices. Megumins ability lets him summon 10 shikigamis, but he cant controll them just out of nowhere, he needs to beat them in order to gaing controll over them. He can also start the ritual as many times as he wants to fight them and try to control them. That shikigame has never been controles, he just used the ritual as a suicide attack.

It’s crazy how mahoraga had already adapted to sukuna domain expansion due to taking a lot of damage from cleave and dismantle. What really finished mahoraga off was the fire arrow.
@@skychieftainhe only adapted to one of the slices i think, in the domain, hes on the process to adapt the other slicing technique but then sukuna burry it with a whole new technique wich is the fire arrow
@@devrizalalderon3174 nope he was adapting to the slashes itself, not dismantle or cleave. Sukuna thought he was adapting to dismantle that's why he opened his domain which also had cleave but since Maharoga almost completed his adaptation to the slashes in general, Sukuna used the arrow.
He adapted to dismantle not cleave he was close to adapting to both that's why he used to fire arrow to quickly finish it off before it finished adapting to his technique and healing its self
Megumi doesn't need two people for the ritual. He just dragged Shigemo into it. He explained other people CAN participate in the subjugation with him but even if they defeat the Shikigami, then it doesn't count. It won't obey Megumi. The Shikigami defeated will just return to its realm untamed. The Demon dogs (both count as 1) are the base Shikigami of the Ten Shadows technique. They are granted and obey the person with the technique, so no need to fight and defeat/tame them. But Megumi (alone, without help from anyone) needs to defeat the other 9 Shikigami in order to be their master. In Season 1, if you remember his fight with Kamo (School Exchange event), he said he had just recently tamed (defeated) Max Elephant. We've only seen 7 Shikigami in the anime (6 tamed Shikigami + 1 Makora/Mahoraga this episode). There are 3 more to be revealed. And Devi is right. Makora attacked Megumi because the latter hasn't tamed it. Summoning it without having tamed it is pretty much guaranteed death if you're not strong enough to beat it (as you can guess, very few characters in the show can even hope to survive a fight with that thing considering how ridiculously powerful it is). That's what the sacrifice is. Jackie is taking the word "sacrifice" too literally. It is not that you have to sacrifice your life by default to use it. Absolutely nothing would happen to Megumi if he summons Makora after becoming strong enough to defeat it like 15-finger Sukuna just did. He would be able to order a tamed Makora around like he does with Nue, the frogs, etc. Because Sukuna defeated Makora here, the ritual is void. It just returned to the Shikigami realm. Megumi will have to summon it again and defeat it alone if he wants it to obey his orders. And no, there is no Zenin who had something "like that" in the past. There is just one Makora. It is a god (one of the Twelve Divine Generals in East Asian Buddhism). It is an integral feature of the Ten Shadows technique, not specific to Megumi. You could call it the final boss Shikigami you tame (well try to at least) after having unlocked the other 9, which is why Megumi said right before the summoning chant that his Zenin ancestor probably summoned Makora in the fight against Gojo's ancestor as well. The few Zenin in history who inherited the Ten Shadows could summon it just like Megumi but like he said, none of them ever managed to tame Makora, so it is pretty much guaranteed suicide as you have no authority over it. It will try to kill you because if you summon an untamed Shikigami, it is supposed to be to defeat it and become its master, which makes you THE enemy de facto in its eyes. If you involve other people in the ritual (friend or foe, doesn't matter) just like Megumi did here with Shigemo, then they're just like you in the eyes of the Shikigami: an enemy to take down. Finally, any outsider who interfers with the ritual (like Sukuna just did here) also becomes an enemy as that person is obviously getting involved in the Shikigami's business lol.
Now, without the spoilers, what happens if the ritual is completed? the people who are in the ritual dies and the shikigami returns back to it's realm?

"You might have defeated me in the state I was back then" He meant the S1 Sukuna. Remember the Megumi vs Sukuna in S1? He almost summons Mahoraga but cancelled it
The incident Gojo explained where the heads of their clans dueled against each other in history and died fighting at the same time...The one having 10 shadows technique summoned Divine general MAHORAGA as a last resort which leads to both of their deaths... Megumi's technique is the only counter to Gojo's limitless and six eyes...
When sukuna said it could beat him back then, it was referring to when sukuna vs megumi Which means when Sukuna has 3 fingers,Not during the golden days of jujutsu(heian era)You can read it in the manga chapter 118
I suppose Mahoraga is a natural predator for cursed sprits, he can kill any cursed sprit with one blow with his some special ability sword or something(I don't know exactly) That's what sukuna means, That first blow of mahoraga would have killed him, as he said himself, Even with the 15 fingers, if he didn't have a human body host. Yuji It's impossible to beat mahoraga with negative energy, it's the only energy cursed sprits have It's necessary to have some positive energy to beat mahoraga which is inside yuji's body, thats how sukuna wins otherwise he would have lost The longer the fight goes the stronger mahoraga gets because he adapts to everything You have to finish him off quickly, if fights goes long he is goona adapt to your every move and defeat you at last( no matter if you are gojo Or 20 finger sukuna) That's the kind of potential megumi have which sukuna and gojo are talking about
@@Kratos261-fpositive energy is similar to reverse cursed technique which sukuna can use Also sukuna’s not a curse and sukuna defeated mahoraga cuz he didn’t let him finish regenerating, after using his domain he immediately burnt him with the fire arrow
you misunderstood, sukuna didn't get defeated by mahoraga back then. Sukuna was referring to his state "back then" he would get defeated if jogo hasn't fed him 10 more fingers.
When Sukuna say "Back Then" he dont meant back 1,000 yrs ago Mahoraga would have defeated him, he mean back when him and Megumi fought when he had only 3 fingers in Season 1. To be clear Sukuna is known as "The Strongest Sorcerer in History" While Gojo is only "The Strongest Sorcerer in Modern Day", just something to think about. Its been said in season one that Sukuna hasnt been able to be defeated so they sealed him. He may need Megumi for maybe his Ten Shadows Technique i think 🤔...
Which I didn’t like being changed from the manga. There it was showed that Mahoraga was heavily damaged and on its knees, crawling. It was regenerating but the domain did take a toll on it and the fire arrow finsished it off.
Basically mahoraga is shikigami that will beat everyone and everything if you fight him long enough regardless of strength his ability is broken so you have to kill him fast or you’ll lose and this applies to sukuna and gojo since all techniques are phenomenons also when mahoraga is summon he’s different to everyone never the same in terms of strength
Megumi doesn't need to sacrifice anything but he was not able to tame mahoraga hence it attached him like dogs if you tame them it won't do anything and follow your order otherwise it attack thats it
Remember everyone, this episode aired in Japan 30% completely animated. Again 30%!!!!!!!!! Imagine what it would look like if mappa treated their staff correctly……
"back then" is in season one when megumi fought sukuna. at the time sukuna only had 3 fingers of power and if megumi had succeeded in summoning mahoraga, then sukuna would have lost
No guys the thing is that sukuna tries to find out what his opponents are capable of in the beginning so when he actually found out that maho can adapt to anything he immediately one shotted maho with a new attack so don’t get the wrong idea that maho was an equal to sukuna because any shikigami or any sorcerer is not on the same level as gojo and sukuna

Maybe Gojo was stronger than his ancestor we don't know however to say that ancestor was on the same level as kid Gojo who couldn't even use red or purple is wild.
Not really, is stated by Sukuna and Kenjaku in the manga that all the sorceress in the current era are wannabe's compared to the older ones. Gojo made things worst and better at the same time, cuz everybody else besides his students are trash, since there was never really a situation were people could keep improving their techniques with Gojo hanging around. - - -- - - - - - - - - Spoilers for only manga readers: - - - - - - - - - Even when Gojo died and have a conversation with all his dead classmates he even feel bad that he couldn't really force Sukuna to go full serious on hin since he was toying and experimenting how to made the Slice even more powerful, basically Sukuna used the mahogara to adapt his technique and prove that he could cut Gojo.

I will say this sukuna wanting megumi for mahoraga to kill all the strong people is wrong the reason he wants megumi so much more egotistical remember what he told jogo to reach gojo he should've cast everything aside to achieve his goals and that's exactly what sukuna did to become powerful and sukuna wasn't the ancestor that fought gojo's ancestor and he's never been defeated something else happened i can't say what though 😬
I don't think it's Sukuna's fault This is Megumi's fault because she released an uncontrolled shikigami. If Sukuna hadn't killed her, the problem would have been even bigger. That's my opinion.
No actually this is entirely Sukuna's fault. When Megumi started the ritual, he only included himself and blondie as participants. When both megumi and blondie would die, Mahoraga would have simply disappeared not harming anyone other than its targets. Sukuna wanted to save Megumi's life, so he interfered as a 3rd party making the entire Ritual null and saving Megumi's life. Also, this guy could have opened his domain earlier but he was trying to figure out what Mahoraga's skill was 😅

@@holymoly-ii6ofIt's heavily implied, and realistically there's no way he beat six eyes + limitless without it
When sukuna said it could beat him back then, it was referring to when sukuna vs megumi Which means when Sukuna has 3 fingers,Not during the golden days of jujutsu(heian era)You can read it in the manga chapter 118
I suppose Mahoraga is a natural predator for cursed sprits, he can kill any cursed sprit with one blow with his some special ability sword or something(I don't know exactly)
That's what sukuna means,
That first blow of mahoraga would have killed him, as he said himself,
Even with the 15 fingers, if he didn't have a human body host. Yuji
It's impossible to beat mahoraga with negative energy, it's the only energy cursed sprits have
It's necessary to have some positive energy to beat mahoraga which is inside yuji's body, thats how sukuna wins otherwise he would have lost
The longer the fight goes the stronger mahoraga gets because he adapts to everything
You have to finish him off quickly, if fights goes long he is goona adapt to your every move and defeat you at last( no matter if you are gojo Or 20 finger sukuna)
That's the kind of potential megumi have which sukuna and gojo are talking about
@@Kratos261-fpositive energy is similar to reverse cursed technique which sukuna can use
Also sukuna’s not a curse and sukuna defeated mahoraga cuz he didn’t let him finish regenerating, after using his domain he immediately burnt him with the fire arrow
you misunderstood, sukuna didn't get defeated by mahoraga back then.
To be clear Sukuna is known as "The Strongest Sorcerer in History"
While Gojo is only "The Strongest Sorcerer in Modern Day", just something to think about. Its been said in season one that Sukuna hasnt been able to be defeated so they sealed him. He may need Megumi for maybe his Ten Shadows Technique i think 🤔...
sukuna so evil he pulled off the "you did this" to itadori at the last part
The strongest and the strongest domain indeed
goatkuna
meigumi has
his real daddy-toji
his adopted daddy-gojo
his sugar daddy-sukuna
anyone sees that mahoraga walking inside sukuna's domain like a boss 😎
Which I didn’t like being changed from the manga. There it was showed that Mahoraga was heavily damaged and on its knees, crawling. It was regenerating but the domain did take a toll on it and the fire arrow finsished it off.
Basically mahoraga is shikigami that will beat everyone and everything if you fight him long enough regardless of strength his ability is broken so you have to kill him fast or you’ll lose and this applies to sukuna and gojo since all techniques are phenomenons also when mahoraga is summon he’s different to everyone never the same in terms of strength
When sukuna said back then he means when he first fought megumi not 1000 years ago
It seems that Crunchyroll fixed their subs. I'm so happy.
Sakuna ment back in Season 1 Episode 5….Because Megumi was gonna summon him
By "back then" he meant when 3 finger sukuna fought megumi
Almost everything went over your heads lmao...
megumi = sasuke
sukuna = orochimaru
you know what orochimaru wants from sasuke right? and that's the same with sukuna and megumi
Man I love Haruta 😂 irritated everyone got all the hate😂 actually killed no one and then died
Great episode and Devi you look as cute as ever today ❤
No guys the thing is that sukuna tries to find out what his opponents are capable of in the beginning so when he actually found out that maho can adapt to anything he immediately one shotted maho with a new attack so don’t get the wrong idea that maho was an equal to sukuna because any shikigami or any sorcerer is not on the same level as gojo and sukuna
want to point out that Yuji didn't just remember, he never does...SUKUNA FORCED HIM TO REMEMBER.
Now think back to S1 when Megumi was going to whip out Mahoraga at the exchange event 💀
Stop spreading false rumor 😑
@@Banana_John how is this a false rumor? You can watch it
@@georgeforeman606 I was assuming you're talking about when todo harassed him before the event started, because people everywhere keep saying that and it's not true. If you're talking about another instance, I'll have to recheck. The exchange event was pretty long afterall (and you didn't say at which point he was doing that)
Happy part of the series has come to an end. Its just unending despair now.
After all, you wonder how that ponytail guy survived. But I felt refreshed when the narration explained it to me. By the way, it seems that not only the animators but also the translation staff are tired💦
The Gojo clan head that died was not as strong as Gojo. He was only as strong as pre-enlightenment Gojo that Toji killed.
I've read the manga where did u get this information? I don't remember a chapter that has that statement, also ur statement doesn't make any sense pre-enlightenment Gojo couldn't even use red or purple but he stated in that fight that he had a guide book for his technique so there has to have been someone before him to use red and purple before him in his clan. Spreading false info to build up a character to be stronger than they already are is wild.

Even when Gojo died and have a conversation with all his dead classmates he even feel bad that he couldn't really force Sukuna to go full serious on hin since he was toying and experimenting how to made the Slice even more powerful, basically Sukuna used the mahogara to adapt his technique and prove that he could cut Gojo.
@@jamesbrook9815 but saturo can do hollow purple while his ancestors can't .And saturo knows about mahoraga and it's abilities while his ancestors couldn't and that's how his ancestor died which means he has better knowledge than them also he knows most of the techniques since it has revealed through centuries .
@@അജാതശത്രു Source? I have asked for statements or chapters where the author specifically says that gojos ancestor didnt know how to use purple. Im not interested in opinions just facts if you don't have evidence then there is no point to this discussion only speculations.
And the thing with mahoraga is not even something I brought up I only said we don't know how strong they where bcs its not stated in the manga.
@@jamesbrook9815Don't be so cocky lmfao it's in the fanbook 😂
Satoru 'The Honoured One' Gojo is THE STRONGEST Jujutsu Sorcerer in all of History. And in no point in time a single Sorcerer was feared as much as Satoru not even Sukuna.
by back then sukuna meant season 1, when sukuna fought him.
megumi tried to summon mahoraga atleat 4-5 time in season lol when we first met sukuna against 3 finger sukuna when todo beat megumi when he lost to hanami and against the finger bearer 💀💀
Wait the sub seems different. Did they fix it?
yupp.. they fix it 1 day after released
They should check out Dr.stone
attention please I saw a post and tweets on Twitter saying that jjk season 2 is near to get cancelled as mappa's production team denied animaters some time to get off jjk season 2 ep 18 so probably next ep will be delayed if this is right well I hope they give some time to animaters as they are working there ass off
来週の放送日は日本では勤労感謝の日。ナナミン…😊
Where the f was sacrificing mentioned?
Also, this guy could have opened his domain earlier but he was trying to figure out what Mahoraga's skill was 😅
General Mahoraga in to OP
Megumi out of frustration initially was going to summon Mahoraga back when he was fighting against Todo.
Thanks to inumaki, both megumi and todo exist.
Goku kills everyone here 😂
❤
Megumi ult trump card that's y sukuna want him😂n don't think gojo is stronger than sukuna no more spoiler for u guys
