OK. SH!T is starting to make way more sense now why Ryomen Sukuna is interested in Megumi. HOLY SH**. This episode. This Fight. How do they keep topping the previous episodes?! AND THE FKN ENDING!!!! LFG!!!!!!
For me, about Megumi's Shikigami, he basically get Shikigami starters, which is the doggies, and then with them he need to catch 'em all by beating 'em in a battle. Yeah I just used Pokemon as reference...
its not for makora, he was never surprised at first seeing mahoraga, he wanted megumi before even knowing about it. "there are things i need you to do".
Sup squad. So here's how I understand everything till now. Gojo, is the man to beat. In history, the only one who was able to challenge the 6 eyes and infinite wielder like Gojo was the head of the Zenin Clan who also had the 10 shadows technique. Sukuna was sat by Gojo episode 1. We know Sukuna is a sadistic fk and who enjoys tormenting people. He isn't about to let Gojo get away with that level of disrespect. In the episode vs 2 finger Sukuna, he recognizes that the 10 shadows technique is one of the strongest on par with Gojo. He also realized that Megumi would have killed him in that episode had he released Mahoraga (not makora) back then. This is why Gojo and Megumi are always together and why he puts his trust in Megumi most of all. Toji, also knew of the strongest techniques, singled out Megumi because of his 10 shadows as the most dangerous and strongest opponent until he realized it was his son who had inherited it. There are 10 different types of Shikigami spirits. The only ones that don't require subjugations are the divine wolves. As he masters the wolves, he can summon and challenge the next level Shikigami. Now he can summon that Shikigami countless times until he defeats suggesting he can also dismiss them if he's not able to subjugate it. The summoning ritual can be done with other people in order to help the Shikigami subjugation. Only when the ritual ends either by subjugation or by defeat does the people finalize the effects like dying. Mahoraga is the 10th level or the strongest Shikigami he can summon. By tricking ponytail into that location, he manage to complete the ritual contract that doesn't end until they both are defeated. Since Megumi was bleeding out anyway and was going to die from that alone, he at least wanted to ensure that ponytail died with him. Essentially, Megumi died but due to the contract he's in suspended death at like 1hp till it finishes. Similarly, that's how subjugation prevents the Shikigami from dying during the subjugation ritual in order to claim them. They can still die and once they do, their power is divided among the shikigami. This is how the wolves inherited each others strength and created a new shikigami. This is different than when he combines skigami like the frogs with wings. If they die, in this form they just get released not killed off. This is why Megumi releases them almost immediately especially if they're not mastered. Subjugation is just like capturing a pokemon. The more he uses them in battle and the more he unlocks their potential the stronger he becomes to be able to fight the next Shikigami. We seen two Shikigami killed that never were summoned again, Orochi (the snake Sukuna killed) and the Divine Dog (special grade killed). Since Sukuna wasn't apart of the ritual, His defeat/subjugation of Mahoraga didn't count for Megumi and since Sukuna can heal, he stabilized Megumi to be healed by what's her name. Mahoraga would have been released after those in the contract were defeated. No judgment here squad leaders, We know it's not easy and it's harder to have each moment documented as opposed to being anonymous. You're doing great and don't mind what the haters say. The fact you guys come to your own conclusion is why we enjoy engaging with your content. You wouldn't be you if you both came to the same conclusion and had the same reactions as everyone else.
Why megumi sacrifices himself?. (No Spoilers). First and foremost this all happening in the same night. 1- Megumi fight the invert guy w/ yujii 2- Megumi exhausted his curse energy by domain exansion against Dagon(Sea Curse Spirit). 3- Megumi got himself beat up by his father and stab also. 4- he got multiple stab or fatal stab by haruta. So he on the verge of death, it its not like yuuta or shoko was coincidentally in the corner to heal him. By the way gojo can't heal anyone but himself, thats wrong translation on previous episode. So yeah, what megumi did, in his current state warrants his suicide-bomber style's action.
If you remember Megumi's first domain expansion episode, he recalls Gojo saying "You always think you can solve everything with the cost of your life. Risking your life and Dying to win are completely different." This is what he meant. He has to basically control every shikigami first time, only after which they act under him. Edit: Mahoraga needs to be tamed, and only by the one who summoned, so if he is exorcised by someone else, Mahoraga will go back in his shikigami realm and Megumi can summon it again to try subjugating it. And if all the people involved dies, the same thing happens and he just goes back in his realm.
Makora = Mahoraga the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Malevolent Kitchen = Malevolent Shrine Dissect = Dismantle Fillet = Cleave It's obvious these aren't supposed to be in the episode even if they are the correct Japanese Translations 💀
Literally all of those are technically correct, they’re the DIRECT translation of the written kanji that make up those words. Japanese as a language has different meanings for different words depending on context used. “Makora” is the correct given name, you can even hear Megumi say that instead of Mahoraga, which is the Sanskrit translation (it’s a name of a figure in Buddhist mythology)
@@g0lddustt29 Problem with you saying its the correct translation is it isn't a translation then. If I say I translated the Japanese word Keikaku (plan) into english and then say "all according to Keikaku" it is not translated. They English version of Makora is Maharaga and even in japanese KataKana and romanji they use 摩睺羅伽 (Rōmaji: magoraga) but they say it quickly which sounds like Makora. If I say the name or word for something (malevolent shrine) then say its actually something else later (malevolent Kitchen) then I have either incorrectly translated or I am inconsistent at translating, both of which are not correctly translating something.
@@Brnolan22 I don’t know where on earth you’re getting your information from but it is incorrect. The kanji for Makora’s full title is 八握剣異戒神将魔虚羅 which the romanji directly translates into “Yatsuka-no-Tsurugi Ikaishinshō Makora.” The characters you used in your comment are used to reference The Mahoraga, not a given name of one subject but refers to a race of deities in Buddhism, whereas Makora is a given name of one of the Twelve Generals that protect the Medicine Buddha, which is why Gege Akutami chose than name for the shikigami. And either way Megumi himself calls it “Makora” out loud in this very episode, and it doesn’t sound rushed in its pronunciation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_Heavenly_Generals
@@g0lddustt29 Mahoraga is based on the Buddhist dieties the Mahoraga. The correct translation is Mahoraga. Anyone reading this can simply look up Mahoraga in google and its one of the first things to come up.
Exactly, mf sacrificed himself against fkking Haruta. Also if megumi has the energy to summon mahoraga then ig he can summon ddog totality and i think thats enough to kill the dude. 😂
NON SPOILER ANSWER: Megumi summoned the general shikigami magoraga that was NOT TAMMED.. thats why it acted on its own and killed him, also if you hear sukuna he said Megumi started a ritual.. the ritual was only between Megumi and Haruta. So once Haruta dies in the ritual megumi dies to complete it because general shikigami magoraga was never tammed by megumi, im pretty sure to tame a shikigami you have to be able to defeat it which megumi was not able to do BUT he can summon it THEREFORE megumi realizing once he does summon it he cannot control it and would die. Hints would be looking at all megumi's previous shikigami's like the frogs, rabbits, etc ( they all were TAMMED which is why he can control them )
@@antoniolopez1135no one in history* In the manga he says no ten shadows used in history but that’s still batshit insane for being a hereditary technique of a clan that’s lasted thousands of years 😭
Seeing Yuji feeling destroyed emotionally after everything hits harder when you realize he’s only 15, which seems people forget. This episode was amazing, the animators deserve more
The reason why Megumi decided to do such a suicidal move was because he already was going to die of blood loss so he decided to take that blond cockroach with him at least, the funny thing is that demon dog would have been more than enough for that guy so him summoning that monster was next level pettiness, like my boy i know you pissed that he got you with a sneack attack from the back but god damn.
Its sad that the animators literally couldn't even finish the episode and see their full vision come to reality. Still turned out unreal, but imagine if they had more time. This is probably the last time we see some of these staff members ever work with Mappa. Cuts were being worked on literally the day before it aired.
YEP - Blurry fight sequences -no defined lines during motor activites - buildings falling like for 17 minutes straight..with no accurate hand to hand combat...I THOUGHT SOMETHING IS WAY OFF
@@rohanshah88081. That’s basically all the fights for season 2 2. I honestly don’t think hand to hand was the problem 3. The buildings falling could be just in slow mo. The main issues I noticed was the shot of megumi smiling. It definitely looks like fanmade. Another is Sukuna’s Domain Expansion, it’s black, grey and white, even the skulls look like an unfinished white.
@@rohanshah8808 1. The blurriness is called ghosting. that has nothing to do with the animation, thats just a japanese tv law mandate 2. The building animation and overall storyboard is 1000% harder and more technichally difficult to do than normal hand to hand so what ur pointing out isnt a reflection of the quality in regards to why they did that 3. But yes some stuff was def unfinished for sure but it wasnt those 2 things
OKay im here to explain mahoraga, or makora. In order for megumi to control his shadows, shikigami he has to subjugate them. He knew he was dying and he wanted to take my guy out with him since he knew he was getting weaker and weaker. He summoned Makora to subjugate it, which means he has no control over it. By being near the other guy, he made him part of the subjugation. SO they either kill Makora or they both die. So no Megumi did not tell order Makora to kill everyone. He says "Im dying First" because he knows how powerful Makora is, and he has still not been able to subjugate it.
5:00 I don't think this is a spoiler, since this is only a context. Sukuna didn't know about Mahoraga/Makora, and he was already sealed when the fight between Gojo and Zen'in happened. Knowing how strong the shikigami is was actually a bonus and an advantage to him, but not the main reason why he wants Megumi.
This episode was absolutely F*CKED, in the best and worst sense possible. The animators cooked so hard they wiped Shibuya off the map 😱🔥💀My man Sukuna had to pull out the Malevolent Kitchen to remind everyone that hes the *King of **-Curses-** COOKING* 👨🏽🍳🔪
incase you're unaware (sorry if you are), but the translation for sukunas domain was done incorrectly by the translators, the kanji used for his domain's name, has two translations being shrine and kitchen, in the official english translations in the manga, it's translated as shrine, so either the translator was unaware of this, or they simply just read it wrong, these things happen in the non-official subs, 3rd party websites are notorious for having dodgy sub translations
Megumi was basically dead there. So he was like “if imma go out, screw it”. And they explained it that It’s the ritual. He brought himself and homeboy into the ritual. So it’ll go specifically after them until Sukuna decided to jump in. And Mahoraga was never Megumis. He has to beat it into subjugation. Basically get it to submit. He’s had to do that with most of his Shikagami. Think of it as jumping into a cage with a wild wolf and having to get it to submit to you.
I'll remind you that Megumi has *almost* summoned this thing like 5-6 times already. The first time Sukuna appeared in Itadori and almost killed him, he started chanting "Sacred treasure..." and Sukuna told him that's a waste of his talent. And when Megumi used his domain expansion for the first time, the curse almost killed him and he had his head smashed in the wall, he started the "Sacred treasure... ring-a-ring..." then stopped himself and went "Fuck it!" and tried using his domain for the first time instead. He would die if he summoned Makura, so he figured "You know what, fuck it, I might as well try some crazy shit if I'm gonna die anyway"
1. on eps one when sukuna first appeared 2. on his fight against sukuna after yuuji's death 3. two times against hanami 4. on his fight against cursed womb in cave 5. this
Don’t worry about it guys , The Anime is complicated and you are on cameras and most importantly you are trying your best to understand it , you can take your time replaying and reading or ask about things , try to not feel the pressure , ignore and enjoy it all 👍🏻
Gojo can’t use Reverse Curse Technique to heal others, only himself. Using RCT to heal others is a super rare trait, that’s why Shoko and Yuta are so special (talking only about RCT)
basically mappa gave the animators 6 months to make all of s2. s2 ep 14 (dagon episode) that a lot of people complained about, they had 2 weeks to make the whole thing. just for reference, an episode of the simpsons or family guy takes 9 months start to finish. they are being incredibly overworked and harrased, essentially mappa is an animation sweatshop.
I'm pretty sure that the production of an family guy or Simpsons episode doesn't take 9 months. If this is true than it wold take nearly a year to do one episode. And how you want to explain the hundreds of episodes we have. Did they start the produktion for hundreds of years ago? Or have I missed something?
@@f.g2940 the quality and complexity of animation jjk has over family guy or simpson blows it out of water. Not to mention they were working on AOT and Hell's Paradise and they might be in production of chainsawman season 2,
@@MistaBunssLikesTurtles yeah, this episode was crazy good. It's a shame that the animators couldn't achiv the quality they wanted duo to time constriction but it's still one of the best episode this year or maybe even one of the best episodes in Shonen/anime. I'm lucky to witness such greatness and prey for the animates health.
6:12 one way to look at it is having a lvl 100 legendary Pokemon and only having one or two badges. Its not going to obey you and is just going to roast you alive.
It seems this episode had some translation errors on the subtitles. Sukuna's domain is called "Malevolent Shrine", but can be translated to "Malevolent Kitchen", which is not its official name , same applies to Makora, which most people know as Mahoraga, as Makora is its japanese name
This episode make me so emotional... Sukuna save Megumi, Itadori realize what "he is doing" and Nanami Walkinng thru the shibuya station watchin for others (looking for if they are fine) IS SO FIRE EPISODE BUT SO SAD IN ONE WAY :(
Megumis technique basically gives him the 2 dogs. And with those dogs you fight one of the other shikigami. And once he beats them they become his to use. He has to go one by one and beat each one of the 10 shadows. Mahoraga is the last shikigami. When megumi summoned mahoraga he forced haruta to fight with him which would’ve made it void even if they beat him. Megumi sacrificed himself so that mahoraga would then attack haruta. After he beat haruta the process would’ve ended and megumi and haruta would’ve died. For megumi to control mahoraga he would have to do the process by himself.
@@envy584 correct, and if you watch back he’s tried to do the same thing against sukuna the first time he fought him, and against hanami when they fought. He honestly tries to use it a lot even though he knows he’ll die which is why gojo talks to him ab it earlier in the show
When summoning a shikigami for the first time you have to subjugate it in order to gain it as your personal shikigami, but if the summoner tries to void the contract with help in the ritual or an outsider forcefully voids then the summoning has failed. Only when facing it alone can Megumi gain its allegiance, but theres a loop hole in that you can forcefully pull someone in the ritual with you and the shikigami shall face the both of you and Megumi theorises thats what his ancestor did when facing the six eyes limitless user of that era(Gojo ancestor).
Thank you to everyone involved with this episode and this season of JJK. This has taken amazing manga material to a level I only dreamed of. As for the execs at MAPPA and the production committee, may you reap what you've sowed for this hell on earth of your own making.
Btw Gojo cannot output RCT, so he can’t heal anyone but himself. Yuta, Shoko, and Sukuna are the only known people to be able to output RCT to heal someone else.
8:49 he means that thing can see his slashes, your not suppose to be able to see them. But he noticed that thing dodged the slash so he was excited cuz basically nobody can see them and aren’t suppose to
It really hasnt been that "dark" tbh. I havent really felt much for anyone yet because stuff just happens so quick that the execution just doesnt really land for me. Ya a lot of random NPCs die, but its not even that gruesome of a way.
It's messy, feels like the author don't even know where the story goes next, he just kept introducing new characters and keeps fighting, there's very little plot from here on out.
Putting things into easier context: 1) The Sorcerer can find others to join in the Subjugation ritual. But the ‘taming’ is voided after which. Essentially you can form a Pokémon GO party to raid the Raid Boss. However if you fight alongside teammates, even if you win; you don’t get to catch the Pokémon. Only if you solo and win the raid yourself, you are allowed to catch/tame the Prize(Mahoraga/Makora). 2) Subjugate does not mean create. Megumi was not the one who created Mahoraga/Makora. Subjugate means to tame or bring under control. That’s what Megumi was trying to say, no one has ever tame Mahoraga/Makora before. Not the Former Clan Leader who used Mahoraga/Makora… definitely not Megumi. Mahoraga/Makora attacks Megumi because he is a Wild Pokémon. Megumi and the former Clan Leader both did not ‘earn the gym badges’ to control or make Mahoraga/Makora obey.
The messed up thing about this is that Gojo told Itadori in season 1 that Sukuna is so strong that his cursed energy permeates him so intensely that his Cursed energy in general and his cursed techniques will take on qualities from Sukuna, and everyone in the series basically describes Sukuna as overwhelming Evil.
It basically mean he has to figure out how to make the shikigami his own or to follow him will and doing that with a third party involved voids the contract so its only a one time use so he has to do it himself
the english version uses more complicated words in here to explain things. in my language, Subjugation is just taming things and Malevolent Kitchen is simply called Demon Palace / Buddha Shrine, while narrator explained : his domain creates a space that is not envelopped with barrier like other domain expansions, so it can be seen from the outside. Without that barrier, it is like not using a canvas to paint, but using the sky itself as canvas. the powers in jjk is barely understandable in manga, but they make english version is more incomprehensible
TLDR : mappa animators have been over worked and underpaid for a while now . They were supposed to get a break from what I heard after 0 but then they were “forced” to work on chainsaw man instead of given time and all if not most of the profits went to mappa but not the rest of the workers so they are exhausted. Also what I assume megumis plan was is to have that shikagami would have killed the blonde who was involved in the ritual and thus also megumi would have died too. It was a last attack but because sukuna saved the blonde they both lived until the shikigami was beaten then Sukuna killed the blonde .
The shikigami was going to kill only Megumi and the ponytail guy because he was included in the ritual. Megumi was going to die anyway and wanted to take ponytail with him.
“Short” explanation of megumi’s shikigamis: once the technique awakens in the user, he’s given the two divine dogs from season 1, and he can store up to 10 shikigamis. To be able to use more shikigamis, the user has to summon them with a ritual and then defeat them with his own abilities. It’s kinda like Pokémon games when u got your starter Pokémon and you go to the grass to capture more Pokémon. We have already seen the 2 dogs (which fused into 1 after one of them died), the frogs, the rabbits, the snake (the one sukuna kills) the elephant, Nue and now General Mahoraga. This last one is the only one not a single 10 shadow user has been able to tame in history and of course, he’s the strongest shikigamis a 10 shadow technique user can have.
And... megumi’s was about to die, no matter what he did, so he decided to summon mahoraga and drag the blonde guy inte the ritual. Once both died, the ritual would be over and mahoraga would desapear.
From what I heard is that Mappa been overworking their workers but it’s now coming to light. If I’m correct the JJK team is short on time on animating season 2 is because when they was supposed to be working on it mappa picked up chainsaw man and they had to work on that which cuts major production time off. I also heard that they made JJK 0 in 3 months so yea its pretty bad over there. With such a platform you should thank the JJK team and not Mappa. Also the quality of animation will go down since the schedule is so horrendous.
Essentially after JJK S1, the team turned around and made JJK 0 in around 4 months (according to animators on the movie), and then went and did CSM S1, and then JJK S2, which had around 6-7 months of time. That's not enough for a 23 episode season, especially of this quality, and they've been outsourcing animators like crazy to try and get episodes finished on time. This episode had one of the best staffs I've ever seen in any anime episode, but after this it is very likely that production will fall apart because these past few episodes have barely been completed on time. Many animators also said they will not work with MAPPA after this
whoever subbed this episode translated it weird. you have to fight and exorcise a shikigami to tame it before you can use it. for example, megumi had to fight and exorcise Nue before he could call and use him like he normally does. Megumi started that exorcism ritual here, however by including the blond miracle guy in the ritual, that means even if he defeated mahoraga, he wouldn't be able to use him like Nue, hed have to do the exorcism again by himself. so basically he just started the ritual since he was going to die anyway from being caught and bleeding out, he decided hed kill them both instead of just him dying.
In order for megumin to control his shikigami, he has to tame them first. He can summon them any time to tame them, or with the help of others. He forced the blonde to the ritual to "tame" mahogara but used it to kill blonde since megumin was mortally wounded, so kind of a suicide attack. Once the blonde died, the ritual would've failed, mahogara would be gone and megumin would've died. So sukuna came and killed it as an "outsider" to cancel the ritual and save megumin
Its simple: To control any of the 10 shadows, the user must first do a ritual to summon it, challenge it and defeat it alone AND THEN they'll have control over it. BUT, Just bc megumi hasnt tamed the shadow doesnt mean that summoning a uncontrolled shadow doesnt have its own value. Thats What megumi did: he started a ritual to tame the shadow and included the blonde guy in it as a participant.
what ive observe megumi is trying to summon mahoraga in previous episodes, first was in sukuna vs megumi, 2nd in hanami, 3rd was in dagon's domain expansion. if toji didnt interfere he will summon mahoraga in the domain, thats whats his trying to say in nanami in "risking his life but not gonna waste it"
So Mahoraga is the thing that Fushiguro was trying to bring out vs the forest curse last season???(forgot the name 😅) When he had the little bud plants growing in his stomach
I didn't think about this til now but after hearing Sukuna say and I quote "You could have defeated me in the state I was in back" I wonder if he was playing around the entire time when his domain expansion is this strong at 15 fingers
The battle between Makora and Sukuna was such a ferocious battle that it felt like the end of the world...and the sight of Tatori wanting to have a mental breakdown broke my heart more than anything...😢
@@c3p6 The stupid Crunchyroll subs changed Mahoraga's name into Makora and changed Sukuna's domain into Malevolent Kitchen, whoever subbed this episode needs to be fired
@@ValidT Makora is the Japanese name, and Malevolent Kitchen actually makes sense cuz Sukuna is a cannibal and all his techniques revolve around cutting and burning like he’s some crazy cook in a kitchen, which is kinda awesome and funny if you think about it
if anyone doesn't understand the sukuna domain part his domain basically doesn't have the barrier like every other sorcerer including Gojo. He and kenjaku are the only two i think that can domain expansion without one so from the outside you don't see the black sphere
Playing specialz in the ending was a fuc***g masterstroke which paid off. But people keep asking "why play it now?". Looks like people don't get what the animators want them to feel. But i did feel that and when it played in the ending, i was like "Man, there can't be any better moment to play this at" That was exceptional.
ik you said mainly patreon people but Ill go ahead and also explain for those that dont know: The animation scene in japan is probally one of the most downright egregious industries in the world, expecting long hours, no days off except for mini breaks called between seasons(not to mention typically mutiple animators do work on multiple shows but generally cause they're good at what they do.) all for mediocre to criminal pay. its important to understand this isnt just Studio Mappa but this happens all over the industry, however. None can argue the level of animation produced by Mappa is pretty much unmatched with a few exceptions of high budget shows such as one piece, and others. Mappa however due to the fact that the jujitsu kaisan 0 movie was done in four months, amongts other Great and Amazing feats all done by the animators for the love of the craft, Mappa higher ups are basically using this as leverage to make that the modern expectation for all of there anime and movies going foward, a.k.a overworking the fuck out of the animation staff with no extra incentive cause they showed that they can do it. Now a bunch of animators who have worked on TONS of projects outside of Mappa ( Like I mean decades of experience, literal legends and some of the people who inspire other animators) are going on strike to demand better, while we are unclear how this will effect the rest of jjk season 2, not like its really matter because at the end of the day they're doing what no others have done before and are speaking out about the abuse they've been experiencing at Mappa. Sorry to plug another persons UA-cam video in your comment section but those who want to know more like the specifics from the animators tweets and hear this explained in a much better way than watch this ua-cam.com/video/acCOURyif-Q/v-deo.html
Megumi's Shikigami Makora (Mahoraga), basically it's like 4th Hokage Shikigami when he sealed Nine tailed... or 3rd Hokage when he sealed part of Orochimaru... 1 time use skill... need both user and the target to accomplished...
NO SPOILERS: No Gojo can be killed by other sorcerers/cursed spirits since a CT can literally be anything, what he was saying is that the last one who inherited both the six eyes and limitless technique died fighting the possessor of the ten shadows tecnique they both died (probably Mahoraga killed them both). He mentioned that because in this current era this event could happen again.
here is the summon explanation. When he summoned The new demon it is needed to be soloed by him in order to be under his control. If other people help and get in, the ritual does not work. No one was able to control him in the past since its was not possible to be soloed by the summoner. so each time it was summoned in the past it was like a big fuck you, I go down but I take you down with me. The people in the surrounding are in the Ritual as well, so after the summoner dies he goes after other people
the sees his technique line is essentially because no one can actually see the slashes its not like some cursed energy wave it is literally j a slash that auto appears through air like a line. So only people that can actually see it are gojo via six eyes and mahoraga via adaption.
Megumi has always been able to summon the shikigami , he didn’t need haruta to summon it but he forced him into the ritual that way he would be forced to fight him. The ritual is between megumi and haruta , so they either gotta kill it or get killed by it. And after they both die it goes away. He didn’t need haruta to summon it, but he forced him into the ritual so that thing can kill them both. Cuz megumi was already dying and he wanted to take haruta out with him
You summon “wild” shikigami for the purpose of beating/subjugating them in a 1v1 fight. But if you summon one with more people beating it won’t work and you can’t keep it. Megumi hasn’t caught this pokemon, he just summoned a super aggressive boss because he had no more moves left and rolled the dice
Just so you guys know the fight gojo mentioned with the previous 6 eye user and ten shadow user. Gojo said they both died meaning it was an equal fight
Dont be sad, be angry at the CEOs and people in control at MAPPA for forcing the animators and editors to do overhours 7 days a week and not giving them a rest. When JJK Season 2 was planned they should have gotten two and a half years to produce it. But they were forced to do Chainsawman in between instead. no holidays, no time with their loved ones. Its a meme, but some of them really dont see their families a lot. And when you see that this episode was only completed 30%... holy shit. We could have Demon Slayer quality animations and visuals. It's really insane that they were hammering out episodes like this till now. To end on a light note: Thank you for your reactions! I really follow your stuff nearly the beginning of the channel. I always watched the BTS reactions of ron and brandon. Keep it up! We love yall.
the subjugation stuff works like this i think. you can summon a shikigami on youre own, and if you defeat it in a 1 vs 1 or fight itt often enough and earn its respect it will obey you. but this shikigami straight up puts everyone who summoned it in a deathmatch, if you win the fight in a 1vs1 it obeys you too. but if you win and summoned it with multiple people it will just disappear and nothing happens. but if you summon it and dont win, it will kill everyone who was part of the summoning ritual. and it went after megumi first because he said the ritual line to accually summon it thats how ii understtood it
The way I took it was he has to defeat them b4 he can control them. He can have other ppl help him but if they do then it voids it cuz HE has to be the one to defeat it. He can call it forth as many times as he wants to try and defeat it. He defeated the toads so now he can control them, he defeated the elephant recently n is now able to somewhat control it. I think it was he last ditch effort in a fight he can’t win so that way he makes sure his enemy is defeated too…and after it defeats the ppl that involved with the ritual it probably disappears. 🤷♀️ that’s just a guess tho cuz I don’t remember them saying anything about what happens if everyone involved with the ritual gets killed in the manga. It might have but I can’t remember. That’s just how I looked at what he summoned that thing n how the power works. Plus don’t forget who his father is either I’m sure he has almost unlimited potential just like Gojo. So it’s not surprising the guy would want to use him for something or in someway. And this is random but I think it’s crazy how similar some of the names are: Gojo, Jogo, hanami, Nanami it’s almost like the group of cursed spirits is like an alternate version of the jjk students n teachers sometimes. They’ve never said anything like that in the manga or anything I just think it’s odd.
Concerning Megumi's technique imagine it like pokemon. He needs to subjugate spirits to bring them under his control (beat them to capture them). In order to subjugate them he needs to be able to summon them first as part of a ritual. He's able to summon spirits an infinite amount of times with the purpose of subjugating them. The issue with Mahoraga is that it is way too powerful to beat and bring under one's control. Hence why nobody in history was ever was able to control it. He summoned Mahoraga as a last ditch effort under the condition of trying to subjugate it (Mahoraga attacked him since he doesn't control it), knowing it'd be impossible to beat it and bring it under his control. His main goal was to just have the summoned spirit as part of that ritual to go rampant on his enemy attacking him since he had nothing else left. Sukuna knew Megumi had access to this spirit during their last encounter and he almost summoned it. During this episode, Sukuna mentioned that if Megumi did it back then he would have definitely lost. Since, he has more fingers now he's able to deal with Mahoraga.
It's MAPPA not wanting to pay their animators enough and overworking them. When you consider Japanese culture, it has to be really bad. Plus they are coming at all animators with a new law that just passed that is going to really hurt the industry, causing around 20% to loose their jobs and 77% to take a major hit.
mahoraga was untamed , only tamed shadows can be controlled. so Megumi just made a ritual with Haruta, so the moment megumi and haruta dies, ritual ends and mahoraga goes back to shadows.
People are missing the point of megumi summoning mahoraga. If he had summoned a normal shikigami and bled out, it would be pointless. This wasnt a normal shikigami summoning, it was a ritual. When mahoraga is summoned hell kill the two involved in the ritual , so if fushiguru is gonna die anyways, this is the most for sure way to make sure his enemy goes with him.presumably mahoraga is suppose to despawn after the ritual, it was suppose to take the enemy out with megumi then dissapear, not destroy the city. We also see multiple times in season 1 where megumi is outclassed with no way out, and tries to use this move as a last resort but is stopped
So in order to subjugate it after the summoning requires shit crazy power level and Megumi simply don’t got that right there, but the fact alone he summoned it is insane
I always see people so confused on why Meg would use Mahoraga for someone weak like Haruta. He really only does it when he thinks he's gonna die 🤷🏾♀️ Like it actually makes sense when you think about it. Plus the ritual will be complete when they both die, so there will be no casualties afterwards~ it's like we'll since I'm gonna die anyways, might as well take you with me lolol
The head of the Zenin clan used this technique as a last resort when fighting the head of the Gojo clan who possessed the Six Eyes and Limitless technique. I wonder how that went? Was it a Makora and zenin vs Gojo? Once the head of the Gojo clan was dead, Makora killed the head of the Zenin clan? That fight would go so hard!
People forget megumi sensed sukuna presence while toji was disciplining him so he knew shit was going down summoning mahoraga was probably the best choice to help his side
Mahoraga is the last shikigami in the 10 Shadows technique and was able to kill a sorcerer with the same cursed techniques as Gojo. Summoning it in a fight is basically as suicide pact between you and your enemy
OK. SH!T is starting to make way more sense now why Ryomen Sukuna is interested in Megumi. HOLY SH**. This episode. This Fight. How do they keep topping the previous episodes?! AND THE FKN ENDING!!!! LFG!!!!!!
I can hear your voice in the comments😂
1- Megumi fight the invert guy w/ yujii
2- Megumi exhausted his curse energy by domain exansion against Dagon(Sea Curse Spirit).
3- Megumi got himself beat up by his father and stab also.
4- he got multiple stab or fatal stab by haruta. So he on the verge of death,
it its not like yuuta or shoko was coincidentally in the corner to heal him.
My brain hurt
Makora = Mahoraga the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General
Malevolent Kitchen = Malevolent Shrine
Dissect = Dismantle
Fillet = Cleave
It's obvious these aren't supposed to be in the episode even if they are the correct Japanese Translations 💀

Can’t believe Megumi summoned the most stupidly powerful shikigami just to deal with Haruta.
Exactly, mf sacrificed himself against fkking Haruta. Also if megumi has the energy to summon mahoraga then ig he can summon ddog totality and i think thats enough to kill the dude. 😂
He knew he was literally bleeding out and slowly dying, not to mention he attemted to use it in like every single one of his fights in Season 1 lol
he was about to die so he atleast was taking out his opponent before
The guy was literally about to die
imagine he was about to summon this against todo lmao

Yes
it's not pettiness, he already run out of cursed energy. summoning mahoraga doesn't require it because it's different summoning intended for ritual
Its sad that the animators literally couldn't even finish the episode and see their full vision come to reality. Still turned out unreal, but imagine if they had more time. 1. The blurriness is called ghosting. that has nothing to do with the animation, thats just a japanese tv law mandate
2. The building animation and overall storyboard is 1000% harder and more technichally difficult to do than normal hand to hand so what ur pointing out isnt a reflection of the quality in regards to why they did that
3. But yes some stuff was def unfinished for sure but it wasnt those 2 things
They fixed it for the blu ray, and one of the key animators publicly disowned the episode on Twitter
"through heaven and earth i alone am the suicidal one"
-fushiguro goatumi
5:00 I don't think this is a spoiler, since this is only a context. Sukuna didn't know about Mahoraga/Makora, and he was already sealed when the fight between Gojo and Zen'in happened. Knowing how strong the shikigami is was actually a bonus and an advantage to him, but not the main reason why he wants Megumi.

Megumi's Ten Shadows Technique btw works like this: the basic premise of getting Shikigamis to control is to summon them and defeat them.
This episode broke me. Itadori's scream made me cry, my boy just wanted to save people 😭
This episode was absolutely F*CKED, in the best and worst sense possible.

He would die if he summoned Makura, so he figured "You know what, fuck it, I might as well try some crazy shit if I'm gonna die anyway"

basically mappa gave the animators 6 months to make all of s2. s2 ep 14 (dagon episode) that a lot of people complained about, they had 2 weeks to make the whole thing. just for reference, an episode of the simpsons or family guy takes 9 months start to finish. they are being incredibly overworked and harrased, essentially mappa is an animation sweatshop.
Even though people in countries other than Japan are aware of the situation, they do not stop watching illegally.
Is watching on aniwatch illegal?

Megumis technique basically gives him the 2 dogs. And with those dogs you fight one of the other shikigami. And once he beats them they become his to use. He has to go one by one and beat each one of the 10 shadows. Mahoraga is the last shikigami. When megumi summoned mahoraga he forced haruta to fight with him which would’ve made it void even if they beat him. Megumi sacrificed himself so that mahoraga would then attack haruta. After he beat haruta the process would’ve ended and megumi and haruta would’ve died. For megumi to control mahoraga he would have to do the process by himself.

@@LowGhostRider It's very gruesome in manga, but they have to tone it down a lot in anime for reasons.
Putting things into easier context:
1) The Sorcerer can find others to join in the Subjugation ritual.
The shikigami's Name is Divine General Mahoraga and Sukuna's domain is Malevolent Shrine
Toji Make Him
Gojo Raise Him
Sukuna Protect Him
Megumi Life in Nutshell
Gojos talk with Megumi after the baseball game makes much more sense now.
Mahoraga is basically, the big bro whenever the little ones get into trouble they summon the big bro to handle it 😂
だからこそ「救えるやつは救っとけ」なのよな
優しいじいちゃん。でも最も丁寧に真剣に考えた一言よな

The fact that Megumi almost summoned this guy back in season 1 against sakuna is crazy!!he would’ve annihilated him back then lol
He almost summoned him against Yuji, as early as episode 2! That's why Gojo showed up😂
Sukuna literally says in the episode mahorage MIGHT have killed him when he had 3 fingers. That doesn't imply annihilation to me
TLDR : mappa animators have been over worked and underpaid for a while now .
Makora, malevolent kitchen, fillet and dissect LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
Many animators also said they will not work with MAPPA after this
Stfu man nobody cares about some random animators overworking schedule.
whoever subbed this episode translated it weird. you have to fight and exorcise a shikigami to tame it before you can use it. for example, megumi had to fight and exorcise Nue before he could call and use him like he normally does.
Its simple:
To control any of the 10 shadows, the user must first do a ritual to summon it, challenge it and defeat it alone AND THEN they'll have control over it. BUT, Just bc megumi hasnt tamed the shadow doesnt mean that summoning a uncontrolled shadow doesnt have its own value.
Thats What megumi did: he started a ritual to tame the shadow and included the blonde guy in it as a participant.
what ive observe megumi is trying to summon mahoraga in previous episodes, first was in sukuna vs megumi, 2nd in hanami, 3rd was in dagon's domain expansion. if toji didnt interfere he will summon mahoraga in the domain, thats whats his trying to say in nanami in "risking his life but not gonna waste it"
i still can't move on that they play the "you are my special" song in the middle of emotional moments for yuji💀
So Mahoraga is the thing that Fushiguro was trying to bring out vs the forest curse last season???(forgot the name 😅)
When he had the little bud plants growing in his stomach
He was also gonna use it against Todo 😂 till Panda broke it up
@@PyroGonz no he wasn't. todo isn't enemy. are you stupid?
They acting like they don't read the Manga lmfaooo. I love it.
*Mahoraga, Itadori
@@c3p6 The stupid Crunchyroll subs changed Mahoraga's name into Makora and changed Sukuna's domain into Malevolent Kitchen, whoever subbed this episode needs to be fired
@@ValidT Makora is the Japanese name, and Malevolent Kitchen actually makes sense cuz Sukuna is a cannibal and all his techniques revolve around cutting and burning like he’s some crazy cook in a kitchen, which is kinda awesome and funny if you think about it
@@c3p6 I mean yeah but it does kinda make it random and inconsistent cause last time he used it in the anime they still called it Malevolent Shrine.
@@ValidT yeah but even megumi said "makora", he doesnt even say mahoraga ever.
if anyone doesn't understand the sukuna domain part his domain basically doesn't have the barrier like every other sorcerer including Gojo. He and kenjaku are the only two i think that can domain expansion without one so from the outside you don't see the black sphere
Playing specialz in the ending was a fuc***g masterstroke which paid off. But people keep asking "why play it now?". Looks like people don't get what the animators want them to feel. But i did feel that and when it played in the ending, i was like "Man, there can't be any better moment to play this at"
That was exceptional.
ik you said mainly patreon people but Ill go ahead and also explain for those that dont know:
The animation scene in japan is probally one of the most downright egregious industries in the world, expecting long hours, no days off except for mini breaks called between seasons(not to mention typically mutiple animators do work on multiple shows but generally cause they're good at what they do.) all for mediocre to criminal pay. its important to understand this isnt just Studio Mappa but this happens all over the industry, however.
Y’all we gotta support the animators better because they are going through hell with this season
He mentioned that because in this current era this event could happen again.
as far in the anime Shoko, Gojo, Yuta and Sukuna can use reverse curse technique but only gojo can't use it to heal others
here is the summon explanation. The people in the surrounding are in the Ritual as well, so after the summoner dies he goes after other people
Now that Mahoraga, aka Makora, is here, we can all think about the various times Megumi wanted to summon him for the smallest fights.
Megumi basically just used the "You'll die with me!!" card
It makes perfect sense since that blond brat was about to torture him to death anyway
4:49 Can't believe you really cracked the theory. Really smart.
This is like the third time Megumi has tried to summon this thing, pretty sure the kid has a couple screws loose lol
I would fry my brain attempting to be photogenic for 30 min
the sees his technique line is essentially because no one can actually see the slashes its not like some cursed energy wave it is literally j a slash that auto appears through air like a line.
I love the theories you two come up with, very interesting stuff.
And from this point onwards Yuji forgets how to smile. You won't be seeing him smiling anymore.
Ron’s reaction to Nanamin. “La La Let’s gooooo!” 😂 love you guys!
And after that...... they are not ready for what comes after 😂
Dont be sad, be angry at the CEOs and people in control at MAPPA for forcing the animators and editors to do overhours 7 days a week and not giving them a rest.
Mappa are so wrong for this
Itadori:"just die, only me"
Song:You are my special
the subjugation stuff works like this i think.
you can summon a shikigami on youre own, and if you defeat it in a 1 vs 1 or fight itt often enough and earn its respect it will obey you.
but this shikigami straight up puts everyone who summoned it in a deathmatch, if you win the fight in a 1vs1 it obeys you too.
but if you win and summoned it with multiple people it will just disappear and nothing happens.
but if you summon it and dont win, it will kill everyone who was part of the summoning ritual.
and it went after megumi first because he said the ritual line to accually summon it
thats how ii understtood it
SHRINE! IT'S CALLED MALEVOLENT SHRINE!
Heck, that translation thou!!!
Sukuna's interest in megumi is the same as you guys predict but his main goal is not to defeat gojo
Oh, I sense a manga reader here.
13:46 Gojo can't use reverse curse technique healing on other people, only Yuta, Shoko, and Sukuna can
He can though. It was stated in the last episode
@@Rupert76he can't
the subtiltles absolutely threw me off like Malevolent Kitchen? im actually dead
Thats not Just an explosion 😭
Thats Just a human, building and everything being cut until turn to dust 😭
Sukuna Domain Expansion: Malevolent Kitchen
*Allow him to absolutely cook in this episode !!!!*
Us crying the way nanami looks right now and Ron be like Dude "He's Two Face 😈".....😂🍣❤️
People forget megumi sensed sukuna presence while toji was disciplining him so he knew shit was going down summoning mahoraga was probably the best choice to help his side
Mahoraga growing gills was a cool shot
This episode solidifies why this season is known as the Shibuya Incident: literally the majority of the city is wiped off the earth.
Mahoraga is the last shikigami in the 10 Shadows technique and was able to kill a sorcerer with the same cursed techniques as Gojo. Summoning it in a fight is basically as suicide pact between you and your enemy
