This was one of the best counter points episodes I’ve listened to hands down. The banter and arguments between you four was amazing and I’d love to see a reprise of this crew asap
TL players might be used to grinding and the break resets them, it will be hard to recover. Yeah everyone says the break ruined TL's form, but Astralis dealt with the break and prepared for it. People criticized Astralis for skipping events, but they adapted to the break because they constantly have them in between. Instead of losing form, they use the break to refresh and come back. It seems that Astralis knows how to get back into the game after a break.
I don't buy this "Liquid lost the major because of the player break" thing. Certainly they were the most dominant team for the last few months, but this major was a must win for them. Losing to this Astralis, points out that they still have their shaky moments of 2018. They seem to fall apart once put under pressure when it matters most. Hopefully we will have some amazing Astralis-Liquid rivalry matches in the next few events, which would either make Astralis number one again, or actually prove that this is Liquid's Era. Or we could have a truce, which would make it even more interesting coming into 2020. Looking forward to this
Astralis vs liquid right now is just the same as the classic debate: "who would win? Batman with infinite prep time or obiwan with infinite high ground?"
Moses at 21:00 celebrating Astralis gonna be at Beijing, we are all exited for this epic rivalry, thats fuckin neat! I know Moses is 100% team Liquid and i'm 100 Astralis, but any event with these two teams gets me fuckin hyped!
Team Liquid gave us Role-less CSGO in a Role heavy period of Counter-Strike. Interestingly in this period of stagnation has seemed like they are stuck in the same roles they had prior to the player break and teams are working out. They do need to innovate again. Well said SpunJ
TL won 5 events in 2 months how can it be a 4 month era???? Dreamhack may 28th Pro league June 18th ESL cologne July 2nd Blast july 13th IEM chicago July 18th
@@MulleEntertainment i guess the era counts until they loose a touney, so that would make it 4 months, just like astralis era was until they lost that blast pro
The problem I have with that is everyone comes to agreement that events like cologne are more prestigious than other top tier events and we all collectively agree the grand slam is more prestigious than one major event so if one major is holding them back then we are saying that maintained excellence isn’t as important as one result after a player break. And events with great historic and cultural value to the scene are ranked as just events
Bruh, people need to get it through their heads that eras are defined by the number of wins within consecutive premier level LAN tournaments. Not ducking competition just to hold on to your undefeated streak so you can literally prolong the duration of the era.... can't lose if you don't play right?
Davey spoke like Liquid is "way" better individually than Astralis is a bit exaggerating to me. Of course, Liquid has better aim no question about that. Tho I don't think their peak is that much higher than Astralis's peak like he made it sounds. Dev1ce Dupreeh and Magisk. These players of Astralis have very good aim as well at their peak.
When watching Peekers Advantage I never noticed him being this biased, but in this episode it really was a little obnoxious. Spunj & Moses argued for both teams while Davey went all in on Liquid. A quick example, Liquid's utility is not even comparable to Astralis, yet he argued it was pretty much the same.
@@romanempire4168 He said the difference between their teamwork and utility usuage was less than the difference in skill. Team Liquid is more skilled I would agree with that, but either he thinks very highly of Liquids skill or very low of Aatralis' skill. If the descrepency is in Liquids favor, they probably wouldve won a few series against Astralis during 2018/2019
Renegades need to tell liaz to get some kills for once, or hes out. Give JKS a payrise cause he carried you in the major. AZR goodd leader solid fragger on his day, GRAT great awper game sense and angressiveness balance, JKEAM good anchor and solid fragger a must for the teams sucess imo.
liazz had a lot of impactful frags and vital clutches in the legends stage that pulled Renegades through to the champions stage though? His only bad series was against Avangar because he had to play the bitch role for jks and jkaem and drop them guns every round. Literally was stuck with an mp9 most rounds ct mirage having to retake a because they barely went b Silly for them to kick him now since Renegades have only been on the up since adding him and Grat
Wasn’t liquid more of a organic super team? They just have ugly duck syndrome. We are just seeing them in 2019 blossom and realize they are the hottest girl at prom! Trust me boys
Spunj as a guest, Dev1ce in the intro? What did we do to deserve 2 Chads in one episode?
I wonder what kind of success Spunj gets at American events. Handsome Aussie! OI OI OI
@@Vudoo13 Spunj is quite literally swimming in success.
It was nice of Thorin to let Davey listen to the podcast live.

the best part of the video is looking at Chad’s face when Davey speaks. hahahaha
Davey's monitor must put out upwards of 10,000 nits. The man is glowing.
Look at the glow up!
Thorin: this will be our last topic
*45 minutes left in podcast*
Relatively short topic considering thooorin is there
one of the best Counter-Points episode in a while. The flow of conversation and debate went very smoothly.
Smooth, yet passionate. Great episode.
You need to get SPUNJ in more often. Its a great combo :)

Thooorin & Moses. The Hitchens and Dawkins of cs. *Moses is Al Sharpton*
just by the comments made by davey I would have guessed he comes from NA xD.
For sure!! Quite biased towards TL.
Davey struggling with his camera is great content : D
Davey is defo a liquid fan...
i reckon if liazz were to keep his form from the major the trio of jks, jkaem and liazz could make RNG a top 5 ish team
The next year for our boys is the acid test.. so far so good, roster and coach is right.. steady progress

If you want to be able to compare teams on the basis of a stable roster, you need to have a lock on roster moves, like all team sports.
RAID man Dave in the building! Turn the fuck up No Majors Club!!
"I've been waiting oh so long..."
nice start chad
Welcome to this episode, where 2 analysts, a caster and a liquid fanboy discuss the future of team liquid and astralis.
So this entire debate changed on it's head with the new valve announcement.
This was a great episode
Guardian and niko were the only players with +ve frag ratio. Not sure what u guys mean by that he isn't performing 🤷♂
Where can I get the cheat config that Glaive has to use to win Majors?
It has been patched
i wish this had been recorded after thorin collected all the data in the "defining eras" video, could've had much more specific discussion.
It felt like what inspired it. Not sure we would've had that video if not for these discussions.
You and SpunJ need a CS Show
What currency are they talking about when discussing contracts? Pounds? USD?
US Dollars
