I ordered some online and just got them now in late May in NC. I may try some in pots but wanted to ask what you thought about direct sowing in some moist soil?
I think it’s definitely feasible, if you keep up on weeding and get them past that seedling stage you should be fine. They like sandy moist areas, just be careful not to let them dry out. If you only have a few seeds I would just start them in pots but if you’ve got a couple hundred give it a shot

You may be able to snag some sweet or yellow birch seeds this fall!
@SeedGreed I'm in Eastern Georgia. I don't think I'll grow those here, I might order some from Sheffield seeds.
