I hope you enjoy this video on the causes of high cortisol! Don't forget to check out the video description for the testing, supplement, and educational resources I mention in the video!
I've been so stressed out the last few years (job that is killing me - I'm a TN that takes care of 34 total care patients per shift) that my left eye has gotten retinopathy. I have very little vision in this eye. It had to be lasered, but the problem came back. I'm looking for another job, I have been passed by many times because I am in my 60's. I've been trying meditation and taking berberine.
Thanks for your work, one thing that helped me reduce a lot of my irritability, mood problems and decreasing cortisol was quitting caffeine. I felt something was messing with me and it took me 6 months of trying different diets, elimination diets and supplements to figure out. A week after quitting caffeine including coffee and tea my moods improved. I’m still not 100% and feel I need to still reduce cortisol so watching videos like this helps. I feel it’s high in the morning then subsides in the midday then rises in the afternoon. My main symptoms I’m trying to eliminate are a lingering mild depression and low motivation.
Testing my cortisol levels was so eye-opening! Thanks, Dr. Kate for helping me better understand my results and make some really important changes in how I manage stress.
