Well this is very true, i believe 1992-1995 Magna's used the 3000GT blocks in a single over head cam config, and 1996 onwards use the same engine as the eclipce 6G72-6G75
Awesome beast you have there mate the 6g7 motors are great, they can make big power.. Magna’s were a fast road car even when new, it’s amazing how most people don’t even know this

i had a 99 magna sports with just a twin tip cat back and heavy duty clutch.. thing was bullet proof. was able to beat vt ss.. also had a ralliart magna with full exhaust and heavy duty clutch.. my opinion one of the best sounding v6s.. definately underestimated.
@@GREASEGARAGE to be honest yes. I went through a few cars since then and i get attached to all of them. But my 99 magna sports i miss more than the ralliart. It was my first car and that exhaust i had on it made it so crisp you need to hear to believe. Plus was bullet proof 389000 kms no oil leaks before i got rid of it. This one though is on another level. Makes me regret not keeping it.

I read a great article in Zoom magazine many years ago where a guy who worked in Mitsubishi's Adelaide Engine Plant put forged pistons, bigger injectors and a medium sized turbo on the 3.5V6 and ran it on their dyno - incredible potential. I would love to see someone turbo the AWD Magna with it's EVO drivetrain!
my mate built that supra, and sold it for 30 something k back in the day, i got footage of it on the dyno, i could slap it up if your keen, its actually a mad car, but crashed pretty hard after this interview, i have no idea what happened to it after this

thank you mate, Yeah it does good on the roll ons , the run way is pretty smooth so it’s was my own fault for spinning so much , almost needed to be running 10psi or less in first and second to get moving, why it got canceled, couple of reasons, one was there was a death, two it got rained out one year, three covid put it on hold , and four not enough local support when it tried to come back

Good news for me because im in vic. All i need is a fast engine to put in my car lol. I reckon you should consider trying the salt lake at least once. This thing would crack 300 for sure.
i am thinking about it, I was changing the set up to go the 300kph most cars that where getting 300kph in the 1000metres had around 1000hp , so i need more power up top and less down the bottom, i’m still going head with the changes.. which you’ll start seeing on the channel in a couple of weeks.. it’s a great sport and hopefully it returns somewhere in Australia 🇦🇺 ,
Congrats bro, very impressive transmission. Just have to get some decent drag radials, I wonder if you should upgrade to some 22 inch tyres; it's really straining the front tyres lol.
FRiCKAAA 276km/h is pretty good, did you get used to it? Probably be better with those tyres you want. Drag Radials will be superior in a straight line as there tread design is just for straight line go, but Semi Slick's is the best road legal option for your car. Check out the options from Michelin bro, all the fastest supercars in the world go with that brand. They have just introduced carbon fibre rim's in Australia too bro, they weigh roughly 7kg in your size. The government subsidy has made them easier to afford too. Should give you a 30kg weight savings for a set & they look awesome.
Hey mate I’m buying a 99 magna LS executive this week, it has the 3.5l in it, unfortunately auto, but is there anything cheap and simple I can do to get a bit more power out of it?
100%, normally the throttle cables are super loose at this age, so your not getting full throttle, two bolts on the manifold and you can slide it tight again, that makes a big difference, to get a quick bit of power, a good mod is some type of intake mod and better flowing exhaust :) but make sure you do research for extractors, makes them sound a lot nicer:)

@@GREASEGARAGE Yeah I tried getting back onto my account but the password recovery email got sent to an address I haven't used in ages haha. I had a white tr se that was slammed on s13 coilovers and 18" amg style wheels. made it out to a few of the wa meets over the years.
i wouldn’t say that :) , unfortunately it is only really quick up top once the wheel speed is up and i’m able to go full throttle, getting the car moving is a problem, the runway is very smooth so traction is pretty tricky.. so a launch that works on the street , just spins on the runway, but it’s something i’ll be working on in the new year

yep the mitsubishi V8 8A80 and rear wheel drive magna would of been awesome, if they wanted to take the car to the other guys, but that was never mitsubishi game plan it’s was purely a family market car, even the ralliart magna should of been a V8 Awd.. oooo well, what year Supras do you own mate and thank you for your kind words
Oh yeah I can imagine, it’s not to bad on a runway, Do tell not many magnas will do 270kph standard? they normally are running out of puff around 210kph and need a long stretch of road. So i’m guessing you were in something modified 😍
@@GREASEGARAGE it's had a couple modifications but honestly it's mostly stock TL this was just a really really really long straight flat highway it took like 2 minutes of flooring it but it got there eventually lol
@@GREASEGARAGE actually I've already been charged for that one years ago so I'm free to talk about it haha it was on a four lane highway on the way to Narangba (northeast of Brisbane) when the Officer who clocked me doing 168 he couldn't believe it and gave me a massive lecture, the judge made an example out of me and disqualified my licence banned me from re-applying for it for 6 years because I had only had my licence for a month. I learnt from it and used the time to upgrade pretty much everything I could in the underbody

I used to go down to the Perth Motor Plex as a kid, dad had a Blue ford falcon with a silver wing in the super sedan category. I own a KJ Verada myself, love to turn it into something like this. Great cars!

100% not everyones cup of Tea, but neither is the car, It was built originally to be in the show-car scene, Which it did extremely well at, Then I got the speed bug, I should of stripped it to make it lighter, as the after market interior is pretty heavy. But its was cool for it to take a national title full trim
Well it true that there isn’t a huge aftermarket scene l, like there is with other brands, if you know where to look there is alot of gear for the magna evo,eclipse ,and galant , remember mitsubishi/hyundai/proton are interchangeable with a lot of parts also, try www.rpw.com.au and 3sx.com
