Yes, I've done some SNR, planning on doing more when the weather improves a bit especially since I'm making connections with UA-cam and Instagram. I gotta get on the east side telegram, especially now that I have good range and power -- but you also ride in Seattle sometimes?
Congrats on getting the Extreme. I suspect that’s my next wheel as well as I almost cutout my T4 the other day. Just waiting for the 50S version to be readily available. BTW you inspired me to ride my MSX100v again and what a blast. I think I’ll be keeping that one forever! Don’t get rid of that Nikola!
Great to hear this! IT is amazing to feel the difference between the wheels. I'm keeping the Nikola+ for sure. Hopefully one day, they come out with a new ultra-powerful non-suspension wheel with LEDs and a speaker! I am riding the Extreme and will continue practicing to gain skills.
It's true that the Nikola accelerates faster at lower speeds, it's like 17lbs lighter than the extreme and has a lower center of gravity, but trust me once you get used to this wheel you'll appreciate how much torque it still has when you get close to 30mph. The older 16" 84v wheels are really fun to accelerate from 0-20mph, but these new high voltage suspension wheels are really fun to accelerate between 20mph-35mph, that's where they really shine 😁 Take your time to get used to it, have a blast! I also suggest riding on hard mode and setting the pedals to -4 degrees, that will not only give you more instant torque, but also provide more of an angle to lean against when you brake. (I think with begode wheels you can't set a negative tilt in the app and will have to recalibrate with the wheel tilted forwards using a measuring tool) Oh yeah and definitely practice hard braking by squatting low and leaning way back, this wheel can handle it easily.
Yea I think you're right for the most part. It reminds me of when I upgraded from my e-scooter Vsett 9+ to Vsett 10+ as the 9+ had amazing torque for acceleration, while Vsett 10+ felt sluggish comparatively, until you get to 20mph+ and then the heavier more powerful vehicle really shines. It is going to take some getting used to, although it does give me more appreciation for how the Nikola behaves too. I'm going to practice with more settings for the pedals, turning, and maybe calibration soon. It's gotten super cold lately (below 20f), so not ideal but I'm going to probably get out for a ride tomorrow. Agreed on the hard braking. I get a lot of people asking how the EUC brakes or how fast it can brake so I want to show the power -- and with the Begode Extreme I won't be afraid to brake super hard because it can handle it.
If you go east to Issaquah, there are lots of great trails to ride. you might get some scowls from cyclists but I don't let that stop me. Issaquah Preston trail then get off by Hipoint and take the Puget Power trail. There's an awesome view at the end of it!
