My post rain ride ritual: 1. Holding the kill-switch, bounce the EUC to shake down the water. 2: Release kill-switch, spin-up the wheel to sling water away, bounce wheel again. 3: With an electric leaf blower, blow inside of EUC to semi dryness, also blowing away sandy sticky stuff, finish with detailing brush. For enclosed wheels like V11, V12, Nikola : 4: Lay wheel on it's side, put a small dry towel on the tire, spin wheel and towel up inside - clean and dries the wheel like a pipe cleaner - but be careful not to jam the towel up in there, keep a good grip on the corner of the towel so you can pull it out! 5: With a hair-dryer, blow upwards underneath one side of the wheel, the warm air will cycle through and completely dry out the inside. Result: Nice clean dry wheel and no bearing worries, or grit building up, covering the heatsink!
That's thorough, I love it. I'm sure it's provided the extra reassurance and almost certainly added longevity to your wheels. Thanks for sharing this info with me and the other people who read the comment section. Valuable stuff 🙏👍
I put either an elasticised kitty litter tray bag or a waterproof high viz backpack bag cover over the top of my wheel in heavy rain. After riding in the rain, I bring the wheel inside, place a towel down on the floor underneath the euc and leave it standing upright turned on for a while. Grab a microfibre cloth/towel, wipe the excess water off the outside of the euc and let the heat from the motor being on do the rest, to dry out
Super smart and sensible practice here. For sure, your EUC habits will benefit you both in the short and the long run. Other users should take your comment into consideration for their own EUC journeys. Respect. 👊
Love riding my v12 in the rain. Have to be careful of puddles that are deeper than they look and wet leaves. I never ride unfamiliar roads when it's rained a lot.
Yes great advice. Know the roads. One time I was turning on a semi familiar road and didn't see the small/deep pothole which was covered by water. I had a slide out but no damage to me or the wheel. Plus wet leaves are like ice for traction!
Heck yeah. I have hit a muddy patch on a curve on pavement, and that made me fall, but wet pavement isnt a problem for me. I plan to get my granddaughter a nicola v3 from ewheels. After seeing your videos of the nicola plus, and it looks like the best wheel in its class (nicola v3). Thanks!
Awesome, glad to hear it. I definitely think the Nik is one of the best for the weight, size and reliability...along with various other features. Wet pavement is usually pretty good as long as you don't take aggressive turns. The bigger danger are wet leaves, wet manholes, and other slicker surfaces. Ride on, let me know when you get the Nik 👍
Yea, those are both pretty solid wheels though but you're right. The Begode Extreme is getting great reviews everywhere I see. I'm loving it so far too. You would probably not regret it.
You are very brave to drive in the rain and on wet roads with the tire which can slip and cause you to fall, I avoid as much as possible if there are a few drops ok but otherwise I don't take my wheel out under water. Especially since you seem to be driving rather fast.
It is definitely a matter of necessity (commuting to / from work) and then I have gained experience and confidence with it. You're absolutely right though, losing traction and falling has indeed been a reality for me. A lot of my crashes have been wet weather related. At least there is less friction on the slide. Trying to be more careful nowadays though.
I put a cover on the top of the wheel .I dont like ride if rain too strong ,cars can slash you too , its not the best .i got a car but use only if rain , no need more car washer XD
That's a good idea to put the cover on top of the wheel for extra protection. I also don't like to ride if it's raining too strong, and a car definitely would come in handy sometimes! haha
i use a waterproof bag cover ,its elastic easy to put in on ,water can damage wheel in many way , they re expansive ,it better to don t stress to much the wheels @@PurpleRider
Yea, I totally understand. I have to do a lot of knee bending to counteract that especially without pads. Part of me likes the thrill of the bounce, but I'm probably going to start favoring my other EUC soon for commuting.@@RoyCarter

Both of my wheels are bad for wet weather exn and commander pro my next one might be extreme for water protection and off road here in Jacksonville FL

I don’t ride anything in the rain. I’m made of paper mache.
Lol, that means you're a work of art!
If its light rain sure. Always very careful of painted lines even when dry, manhole covers and wood.
Yep, and of course wet leaves and other mud type situations on pavement.
what tire pressure do you ride at?
Around 40 PSI to keep my rim in decent shape 👍 how about you?
@@PurpleRider Anything over about 30 and I bounce and wobble all over the place above 25mph, lol. But I'm old, can't afford the meat slide.
