Many great speakers out there but we should always pay attention to what people say and what they do...I wouldn't say Brother West is a progressive, whatever that means. In a debate once on Pan-Africanism, Black Nationalism, Malcolm X, the Trans-Atlantic and Arab Slave trades and other subjects with John Henrik Clarke in the 1990's, A baptist minister like Brother West dad- John Clarke once explained: “I think Skip Gates and Cornel West, and these other black conservatives, are no different from the Afrikans who participated in delivering the Afrikans to the beach, to be put on the boat to become slaves. It's frusterating to already be hearing about how my vote for a third party is just a vote for whomever someone doesn't want to win. It occurred to me today that Dr. West is the only candidate that probably truly does want all of us to have meaningful, decent lives. I'm probably not going to agree with everything he says, but his respect for the average American goes a long way for me.

One way to push back on the vote shaming is to make the point that for the vast majority of Americans, who do not live in swing states, voting for one of the two corporate parties is literally pointless, whereas voting third party helps get ballot access to that party as well as federal matching funds. Voting third party is a step toward breaking up the duopoly. Voting blue or red is not.

There was a reason those people complained. Marianne is deeply PASSIONATE, and fierce, which is exactly what we need. Her actions, which include a career of service to others - starting non-profits, and actually helping people up-close being deeply involved in their most difficult times, speaks for itself. SO many people who have worked beside her and for her have come out in full support of her. Sure, one article, or a few clips of unhappy staffers come out - she's 70 years with a very long career. Cornell’s such an amazing man! I saw him speak once and I was moved to tears. He has a unifying spirit that is really powerful. I hope that if he takes power that “across the isle” nonsense can’t fly or it will spell the end for humankind. Some things just cannot be allowed to fall into place like the doomsday in this lifetime plan of republicans and do-nothing Dems.
