- Part two of the documentary about the Clydebank Blitz.
What the luftwaffe failed to do on those fateful nights 70 years ago some eejit succeeded. The temements at the end of this clip were demolished just recently.
My family, including a very young Maggie lived in those very temements in Dalmuir, firstly Kitchener Street and then Dumbarton Road. I have fond memories of Christmas Day and taking my first doll's pram out onto Dumbarton Road even though there was at least two foot of snow on the pavement outside our tenement.
Brilliant footage....had a huge interest also in the Clydebank Blitz after involvements with Tom McKendrick.
Very interesting documentary. Thanks for uploading. My grandfather was a fireman on the Clyde during WW2.
My Mum - now 91 - lived in Radnor Street. She'll never forget standing in the shelter with her Mum, Dad and big brother. And not being scared and only because my Gran and Granpa who must have been terrified kept very calm, held my Mum and Uncle close and showed no fear.
My granda told me all about it he lived near north killbowie. I am so interested. In it now. Thank u for uploading

Thank you for these very informative videos
Georgie Csanadi Sorry for the late reply.. only reason I'm alive is because my Grannie refused to shelter in the Dance Hall due to her very religious beliefs !! That's why my Dad..8 at the time survived ! It's a crazy world !
my mother was 20 months and lived with her elder brothers in Crown Avenue in Clydebank at the time of the blitz
My Grandmother's brother Irwin Keys, lost two of his daughter's from the the bomb that hit 1571 Dumbarton Road at that time. Such a sad and tragic loss.
