My grandpa worked at John Browns and my Grandma worked at singers. Born and raised in Scotland and survived the Blitz. Very proud of my heritage 💕 I miss them dearly and these accents make my heart feel like it’s at home.
I am proud to have worked in engineering in Glasgow. This film saddens me to think there is no longer large engineering and shipbuilding industries within Glasgow and the Clyde. I no longer recognise it as the Kingdom it once was. These films and our experience are the only memories left.

I worked in Singers in the sixties John Browns was still working and as a child we want to the baths in Clydebank we lived in Drumchapel I now live in London
My uncle and his mate Barney were doing a job in Renfield st , Glasgow centre , and a big fancy foreign HGV stopped at the lights beside them . The big German trucker leaned out the window and said , skusse me , can you tell me the way to Clydebank ? Barney never missed a beat and came back with , fk off yer aul man could find it in the dork .

Very proud men, proud of their town, a real sense of community and proud to be Lowland Scots. Sad to see how different things are now
