I really want this helmet, really wish hjc would have used ratchet buckles instead of sill outdated d rings, d rings are counterproductive on a modular helmet, all modular should have ratcheting, d rings should be forcrace helmets, luckily i can likely, i hope get a ratcheting conversion
I'll stick with the double D rings! My Shoei NeoTec 2 has the ratchet system and even at its very loosest the strap is too tight and uncomfortable to wear. Thankful this HJC has the d rings!
How's the sunshade for eye glass wearers? Does it hit them? Before I wore eyeglasses, the first HJC sunshields dug into my nose. In an accident, that would have sliced my nose open.
Sunshield works great. Just as the video shows, you can adjust the height and how far it is from your face. I wear glasses and have zero issues. Same goes for the RPHA 90S I own as well
Unlocking from the open (“jet”) configuration to move back to closed (“protected”) configuration seems like it could be tricky with gloves (especially winter gloves). The temple vents are similarly small and potentially fiddly and are actuated independently, requiring two separate actions to open/close them both. It would be really helpful if the review had some rider experience discussion to clarify how challenging - or not - it is to use these features in real life.
I'm using an Rpha 90s with a Cardo comm unit. I had to remove the chin curtain completely to prevent it from pulling my boom mic out every time I closed my lid. Does this "hinged" chin curtain take care of that? Or will it need to be removed as well? Can it easily be removed if necessary?
They should really stop putting in these com systems. Or release one without all those stupid covers. Schuberth c3 or e1 is the last premium helmet without it, so I'll stick with those.
Couldn't agree more. Like me I'm sure, there are many for whom some listening to music while riding is totally anathema to the experience of riding. Riding for many of us is a solitary experience which excludes any need to be yacking to anybody - even if they were there.
Please, USA, if you are looking for a global audience, you really do have to augment your presentations with metric measurements!! Nobody in 95% of the world know any meaning reference to LBS or pounds!!!
Shield slams shut at low speed. After a recent trip I learned the shield leaks during rain. None of our group who had different helmets had this issue. No support after 3 emails. Garbage helmet and absolutely no support from HJC.
this was apparent in another long review online. the owner tried it on two different bikes with different windshields...same thing happened at around 60mph. Shame, as I was seriously considering this as my first modular helmet, as it came best on test for noise at Champion Helmets. A good drop-down sun visor is a deal breaker for me (once you've had one, you never go back) but if you can't ride at 50+ mph without the main visor slamming shut it's a fundamental design flaw in my opinion. hopefully HJC will address this issue, otherwise it's an expensive mistake. This is what fucks me off about all these online sales reviews who don't actually test the products they rave about....ua-cam.com/video/KXiRL1jMuo8/v-deo.html
Great Helmet, fits very well and great ventilation. Bought one from you guys just as you got them in.
Rad Dave! Thanks for the support. Glad you're enjoying the new RPHA 91, we think it's a real winner. Ride Safe!
Awesome looking helmet and love the double D ring as I find it more comfortable on my neck.
Thanks for watching!

Some people love the D-rings, some do not. Sadly there is no way to make a quick switch. Thanks for watching!

Appreciate the feedback.
Do they sell interior foam replacements?
We do sell them!
how does the 91 compare to the rpha 90 caden
The RPHA 91 is the way to go.
What color is the helmet? Is that the anthracite version?
Hey M that would be the anthracite version of the RPHA 91
Sure ... not the titanium version?@@SpeedAddictsTV
Thank you bro 💙
You the man
I think I prefer the RPHA 90S flip.
I have the 90S and the 91 is an overall better helmet
@@davew1134 No ratchet chin strap though.
@@davew1134 Is the 91 noticeably quieter than the 90s I already have? I dislike helmet noise at 80+
@@artnshel Not by much. I have a 90 S and its a great helmet
This looks gaudy compared to the 90. No thx.
How much does it weigh?
1.700
3.74 pounds or 1700 grams.

Great question. Yes typically the issue is solved here, but will depend on the shape of your face and thus the mic position.

New rider much agree, delivered the Schubert C5 partly because the audio from the Sena was subpar to the cardo.
We should be able to choose.

Appreciate the feedback. Those integrated units can be a pain, especially if you want to use a different unit.

We've started mentioning the weight of grams in our recent videos.
