Somebody needs to make a larger aftermarket tank for these things, aluminum tank that utilizes the extra space of the plastics would easily get us an extra gallon or more.
I'm super happy that you showed us how to reinstall everything. Most people would have just said "just do the opposite of what you did". And left it at that. Those people didn't count on me being an idiot.
Yo this was an absolute lifesaver. I was installing heated grips and I wanted to cleanly hide the wiring under the plastics. Getting the shrouds off made it waaaaaaay easier.
I’ve got a 22 model and I’ve been shitting myself thinking about getting a cable to the battery. This very detailed “how to” could be a lifesaver. Thanks man.
Anyone ever have trouble getting that center black piece back on without any gaps? The snaps on the slanted piece facing towards the rider wont go in all the way on one side and its driving me crazy
YES, very annoying, dealer just told me it was a very common problem, and that after basically one install, it would never sit correct again. I replaced mine, it sat flush after the first install, but after taking it off just once, it didn't sit flush again. Can't believe Yamaha hasn't made proper tolerances.
there was a piece missing between the 2 seats. i was having trouble bolting mine back so i put some zip tides. the bike was running rough. i though it needed a tune up but it has mouse food in the air filter.
Thanks for the video, one question. I followed your steps for the second time to replace air filter #2 at 12K miles. Went smooth as silk first time, but the second time I removed the tank, rolled it on its side to disconnect the fuel line and pump and 4 black spacers fell on the ground. Have looked at exploded diagrams, been on other forums, and cant get an answer as to where these go? Never had an issue the first time, and own the official shop manual (of course cant find it now that I need it). Curious if you have ever seen these 1/4 inch spacers when working on yours?
Nice video! Have you experienced the middle piece not wanting to sit flush on the tank after having it off? Or have a tip to make it lock in again flush. The dealer told me, that's just how it is, even though it have like a 0.5 cm gap in one side and not the other. I tried everything, nothing seem to make the taps want to lock in properly again :/
@@RuxGaming Got the middle part replaced, then it was fine, intill I took it off, and boom after one time taking it off, it doesnt sit flush again. Horrible panel design. Unfortunantly there seem to be no other solution than replacing the part.
Here is the oem website that has what you need for the 2021 mt07. www.yamahapartspro.com/oemparts/a/yam/600ee4ac87a8660140d632f4/fuel-tank-2 Look on the schematic of which one you need and I think they are very cheap. Hope this helps
@@BradTheBuilderChannel yeah I looked at this but in Australian Yamaha and still on both tank diagrams it doesn’t show that top push pin on it 🤷♂️ I’ll prob have to ring Yamaha service parts directly see if they know, thanks bro
If I’m thinking of what your talking about correctly it is the nut for the bolt that enters on the other side. The nut is stuck in place so you do not have to hold it with a wrench on the other side.
You will have some residual fuel in the line that goes to the injectors (very small amount) but you won’t have fuel pouring out from the tank thankfully!
No wasted time of fluff. Clear explainations. Good views. Perfect tutorial... Thank you..

Just did mine and I'm experiencing the same thing, it's one little gap on the bottom left of the center plastic that's driving me insane lol

@@RuxGaming Yea I agree..No, I got it replaced at my local Yamaha Dealer.

Thanks Ledgend 🎉
Thank you buddy.
The gas gauge is flashing and it won’t start, any reason why?

Anyone know where I can get one of the Phillips push pin things. Lost mine taking it out and can’t find it anywhere 😭
Try searching an OEM parts website or check your local autoparts store. eBay also has a lot of options.
Just needed to know if fuel was going to leak out. Thanks! 2022 R7
